About our contributors

Frugal Living NW is not a one-woman show. I am straight-up blessed to have three talented women on the FLNW team as contributing writers. They add tons of deal and homemaking expertise that I lack and allow me to manage the business side of this blog more effectively and spend much needed time managing my home.

Kate Ahl

Kate is the “jack-of-all-trades” at Frugal Living NW, bringing you all our weekly store highlights (Albertsons, New Seasons, Fred Meyer and Target), the daily Top Printables post, giveaways and many of the natural and organic deals. She also posts most of the cooking, crafting and homemaking links on our Facebook page.

Kate is married to Dave, a production manager at a Portland graphic design firm and crazy Blazer fan, and has three children: Eloise, Lily and Sam.

Emily Chesney

Emily is the author of our Frugal Homemaking posts. Emily is married to Ed, a prototype mechanic for a kitplane company, and has two children: Elly and Evan.

Emily is a full full-time homemaker who is passionate about her family and growing, cooking, and eating real food. To balance out the alarming amount of butter, sugar, and flour they consume, the Chesneys spend much of their free time outdoors biking, hiking, camping, and exploring new places.

You can read more from Emily at her blog, Making Dough from Scratch.

Brittany de Leon

Brittany is the Safeway and Walgreens expert at Frugal Living NW, doing our local deal match-ups as well as updates throughout the week.

Brittany is married to Mike, a school teacher, and has three young children: Hailey, Ezra and Jonah. She lives and breaths for Oregon summers and enjoys just about any outdoor activity you can dream up….
