    Buy 2 Marshmallows
    Buy 2 Graham Crackers
    Buy 2 Chocolate bars

Use 2 Free MM wyb GC and CB
    & 1 $1/2 GC
    & 1 $1/2 CB
Get $4.00 off instantly since I am doing it twice
    Pay $5.98 for all 6
Seems it would work because the dollar off coupons are effecting the two items I am paying for, not the free MM

My albertsons moved all the papers to the registers to keep a eye on the papers because everyone was stealing the papers where they were by the door. Anyone who steals the papers.. first I hope they are caught because that is wrong, second, never did the show imply that any of them stole papers, and 3rd they are eventually going to ruin it for the ones that do buy it or that do work for it. Advice for them. If u r a good person find another way to get your inserts please.
I buy my papers and when I don’t buy I print them on coupons.com another thing if u can’t print go to the library. 🙂

FYI- the not the nicest “customer service” clerk at Oregon City announced that starting with next round of doubles, they will only be available in newspaper, not in the store at all-It will save her a lot of time, she says smugly… This concludes somewhat-bitter- not really- extreme-couponer that has been couponing for at least 10 years rant. It has been mentioned and I have participated in sending e-mails to Albertsons to let them know my opinion. The extremers are really ruining it for old-timers. Alas, they should have at least a 4 year supply of KC Masterpiece, salad dressing, and hope they are happy! I just thought a free bottle for weekend bbq would be nice. 🙂

      Mary,

Amen, Amen, Amen…. It’s rather frustrating. Happy to share, but not happy to give it all up. I’m right there with you. The long time couponer’s unite. 🙂

Every single store I shopped at today (which included each FM/SW and Albie’s) said something about people coming into the stores on Sunday afternoon and “picking” the coupons out of the FOR SALE papers… If they are caught, it’s stealing and they will be sticking around for a conversation with police. All three stores are putting the responsibility on the increase in couponers since couponing became so “popular”, their words, not mine.

I hope we can find a balance for everyone, and soon.

A few weekends ago, I stopped at the Albertsons in Happy Valley to purchase 4 Sunday Oregonians like I always do. When I walked up to newspaper rack.. There was a woman already standing there – flipping through the papers (assuming she checks her papers for the inserts – like i do.) But instead, I watched her take the inserts and put them in her tote bag she had with her. I was in complete shock – I couldn’t even bring myself to say anything – and not to mention the 2 cashiers standing around that didn’t say a word to the her.

It is extremely frustrating that people are getting away with this – especially if people like myself are willing to pay $2 per paper.

        Happy Couponing,

THAT makes me want to scream! It’s like taking a handful of cookies out of the package and putting them back on the shelf.

That’s wrong, wrong, wrong! How could anyone possibly think it’s OK?

There are dozens of ways to get extra inserts without stealing them. Maybe that should be a post covered on this blog. ??!!??

The extreme couponing show has caused more headache for the usually couponers than normal. So many restrictions at stores now, and I saw on tv or read somewhere that many people are stealing newspapers from the coin operated newspaper stand, and many people reporting stolen newspaper. I wish the show didn’t air at all. Especially the “Jamie” episode.

The Albertson’s in my area used to have their Oregonians dropped at their front door, but since one sunday the coupon inserts were stolen from the papers, they have had to make sure they get them delivered to another area, and the extra papers are in the check stands or behind the service desk. —– coupons are a hot commodity.

I think it is our responsibility to report any crime we see. Would you of reported the lady to management if she had stolen a handful of candybars. I think we should of at least acknowledged to the the thief that even though a lot of people throw out the inserts, Many people only want the inserts and throw out the paper. If after reporting this person to the management, they don’t do anything, then I think a call to the oregonian might straighten them up. Remember anytime someone steals it ends up costing you in the long run.

I always check for inserts since seeing papers scavenged on shelves at Fred Meyer; but am a bit freaked out about doing it so I take them to the CS desk so they know I am looking at them and not stealing. I feel better about it that way. AND a few weeks ago when there weren’t any TTV / Doublers in the papers on the rack that way the CS rep could plainly see that they were truly missing.
Honesty is always the best policy.

ALSO: to clear up the cleared shelves… PRE ORDER YOUR ITEMS! I ordered 30 boxes of Danimals Yogurt Drinkables last week and this week I ordered 40 boxes of Granola Thins. This order is on top of what the store is ordering to “sell” to others. Think about it. If a person goes in 3 or 4 times to get 5 boxes at a time… it is the same as clearing a shelf. I hope to get the Thins but we will see if they are available. (Sometimes the warehouses run out)

          Happy Shopping

I have been to nervous to buy coupons on line and then if they don’t get the item in before the coupons expire or the catalinas quit printing. I am out of luck. I heard a friend say she tried to order from Safeway and it was a big disaster. One time they forgot to place the order, another time she never recieved a phone call saying the item was in(which they promise to do) and when she checked, they sent the items back because she didn’t pick them up within 2 days. She claims she has never had any luck with placing a special order. Is it just Safeway? or is Albies better.

I haven’t had any problems with pre orders. However, I have had orders that couldn’t be placed because the warehouse was out (Emerald Breakfas to go) so I wasn’t able to ever get any of those. bummer for me there but ok… My store is leary about pre ordering or special ordering so they are only doing it in small orders. I feel sorry for everyone working at stores where coupon folks are being so rude or pushy. My store is trying very hard to help everyone but have had some pretty tough experiences. I don’t blame them for having to crack down on policies.

I had the sweetest gal help me at Customer Service yesterday at the O.C. Albertsons. She even pulled out the oh so sought after double coupon sheet. I was shocked they still had them in stock and she was shocked I just needed to view the flyer and not take the doubles. I’m sad people are being so naughty but you really can’t blame the stores. They shouldn’t be rude but they are probably just fed up with it all. Just like the rest of us. 🙁 I”m shocked people would take inserts our of papers w/out even batting an eye. Crazy!!

Redmond Albertson’s used to have the TVC out for anyone to take until recently (the show aired) when people started taking them by the hand fulls. Now you have to ask for them behind the counter. They will hand out a couple. I am thankful they do this so whey will have 3 for me when I shop up Sunday afternoon.

I don’t think the s’mores scenario you posted will work. The $1/3 is for purchasing all three items so using the “free marshmallows when you buy chocolate and grahams” q seems like too much. I think you’d have to pick and choose which q to use. so, you could either do:

    1 graham $2.99
    1 hershey $3.00
    1 marshmallow $1.25
    total: $7.24
minus $2 instant and $1.25 for free mallows = $3.99 total

    OR

    1 graham $2.99
    1 hershey $3.00
    2 marshmallows $2.50
    total: $8.49
    minus $2 instant, $1.25 free mallows, and $1/3 smores = $4.24

When I did this deal the last time it was going, the cashier said I had to buy 2 marshmallows, because of the “two manu coupons” on the same items. Makes sense. BUT depends on the cashier you do to (I’ve noticed some don’t care and some read all the fin print).

The $1/3 coupon is obviously meant to attach to all three items so you can’t use the free mashmallow coupon with it unless you buy another pack of marshmallows. Since the coupon states, “one coupon valid for items indicated,” using a second coupon (the free marshmallows wyb hersheys chocolate and graham crackers) is violating the terms of the coupon. Even if the checkers don’t care, we should do our best to use the coupons as they were intended to be use.

That seems right to me too & would still be good-as you would get 2 bags of marshmallows. Since it is 4th of July weekend-I am hoping maybe there will be doubles again (I know we just had some!!)-then many of these deals would be really great!

I need to double check policy, but you can use a BOGO FREE with another coupon at Albertsons. I’ll look into it more and get back to you.

Yes that does work (still works at Rite Aid too-I did it on the stayfree this week=moneymaker!!) & I think that would be because each item still only has one coupon attached to it.
The way I look at it- in this scenario the coupon on three items covers all3 items-so to use the free marshmallow coupon, it works if you add another marshmallow.
These types of deals always makes me think A LOT also!

OK to add even MORE to this discussion-just noticed these coupons on thekrazycouponlady!
          6/26 SS-$1/2 6pk hershey’s chocolates
          6/26 SS-$1/2 honey maid grahams
these will definitely work with the free marshmallow coupon-when you buy 2 of each of the 3 items! & use 2 of each of the 3 coupons
I still am hoping for doubles-as that would make each set of 3 only $2!!
Thank-you Kate for all your hard work-want you to know it is really appreciated & for all the comments-really helps too when everyone works together!

To get the FREE MILK catalina you need to buy 4 of the items correct? Thanks!
