It’s the 3rd Annual Pumpkin Post! Break out your purees, we’re getting our pumpkin groove on.

First, a fun fact. In early colonies, pumpkin shells were used as a template for haircuts to ensure a round and uniform finished cut. As a result of this practice, New Englanders were sometimes nicknamed “pumpkinheads”.

Second, before you start making your pumpkin deliciousness you’ll need pumpkin puree. You can make your own or you can buy from Vitacost or Amazon. I usually stick to organic given that I’m eating large amounts of pumpkin puree throughout the year.

Can’t wait to try some of these. Is there a correct link for the white hot chocolate? The posted one keeps taking me to a scones recipe (which also sound good, but I’d really love the beverage one.)

Pumpkin Bars with Cream Cheese Frosting are my favorite. I use Paula Deen’s recipe from the foodnetwork site.

I make an easy dessert – Pumpkin pudding. It is 1 cup pumpkin, 1 small box instant vanilla pudding mix, 1 1/2 cups milk, 1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice and about 2 cups cool whip. Whip everything until smooth, and add cool whip last. Let set up, and can add alittle more cool whip on top for garnish. Almost as good as pumpkin pie. Make it with sugar free pudding, and it makes for a ‘healthy’ choice. My husband loves it!

I’m loving these posts! I’ve made pumpkin oatmeal, smoothies, muffins, pancakes and waffles in the past week, and they’ve been delicious. I just printed 5 more off (thank you!), but I’m having trouble with the link to pumpkin spice white hot chocolate.
