UPDATE: I am so sorry. It seems as though I have misunderstood this promotion and thereby mislead all of you to how it works. When you deposit $40 in coins, you get a $50 eGift card + no transaction fees to one of the five retailers listed below. You DO NOT get $40 cash + a $10 gift card like I originally posted.
When you deposit your $40 in a Coinstar machine, you need to first select which $50 eGift card you want to receive. If not, you will be charged a hefty transaction fee to get a voucher for cash. So, this is only a good deal if you want to spend your $40 in coins at one of the 5 retailers listed below anyway. Again, I sincerely apologize.
Through the end of December, Coinstar Centers is not only offering no fees on your transactions, but are be teaming up with five national retailers to kick off the Cash in $40, get $50 promotion.
Simply redeem $40 in change and get a $10 code on your receipt that can easily redeemed online on Coinstar’s website to get a $50 gift card to Lowe’s, Rixty, Regal Entertainment Centers, iTunes or Borders. If you wait until December 9, it looks like you can redeem your code for an Amazon gift card! For some reason, the Amazon page is not working right now, so wait on doing this deal if you were hoping to spend your coins on Amazon.
Don’t you love it? Get a FREE $10 gift card, just for cashing in your loose change! According to Coinstar’s Faceboook page, you can get a $10 gift card from each retailer — if you have $200 in change laying around, this means up to $50 in gift cards! In order to get multiple gift cards, you will have to do separate $40 transactions. This promotion will only run through December 31, 2010. Click here to find your nearest Coinstar Center location.
How does Coinstar work? Bring your coins to a Coinstar Center location and dump the coins in the machine. The Coinstar machine counts your coins and spits out a receipt that you take to the store’s register. You can either get cash or use the amount toward your purchase.
To get this party started right, Coinstar is giving a $50 gift card to Lowe’s, Rixty, Regal Entertainment Centers, iTunes or Borders to one Frugal Living NW reader!
To enter this giveaway, just leave a comment with how you store your extra change!
