by Angela on June 26, 2012

If you’re looking for a Sunday newspaper subscription deal with the Oregonian, see if you can get in on this one:

Super Saver Subscription: Get the Sunday and Tuesday paper delivered for one year for $19.99

This price expires on August 31, 2012. It is available for residents of Multnomah, Washington, Clackamas and Yamhill counties in Oregon only and to those who have not subscribed in the past 30 days only.

Call 503.221.8240 and use the promo code 507 to get the deal.

Please note that this deal was submitted by a reader and may not be available exactly as described (it’s the Oregonian, after all).

Thanks, Charolyn!

Of course not Columbia County. Meh.

I second that! Columbia county should be considered part of the metro area as so many live in columbia county and work in portland

Hm only a saving of 4.00 compared to buying from the store..

How much does your Sunday Oregonian cost in the store?!

Reply

Michelle June 26, 2012 at 12:55 pm

The Sunday Oregonian is $2.00 in the store. You are getting 52 Sundays with this deal. That would cost $104.00. So much more than a $4.00 savings, more like an $84.00 savings. Not including the value of the Tuesday paper.

if you’re buying your paper at the store for $2 per paper x 48 weeks (roughly because of no papers on holiday weekends) you would be spending $96 a year. What store are you buying your paper from that you are getting it for $23.99 per year?

The normal Super Saver is 99 cents a week.

Wait. This is an awesome deal if it’s $19.99 PER YEAR. But doesn’t the Oregonian bill in 8 week cycles? This seems like it would be $19.99 per billing cycle, for one year. That is way more in line with the type of specials they usually run. Anyone confirmed this specifically?

True story, $19.99 for a year. I signed up for this awhile ago (April I think), and it took about a month of me calling every Sunday/Tuesday to actually get my papers delivered, and then I had to call when I got my first bill because that was way higher than it should have been too, but I think it’s smooth sailing for now. This is only for one subscription though, they wouldn’t let me sign up for multiples at this rate.

Does anyone have the current address for the care packages for the female US troops from Ft. Lewis-McChord serving in Afghanistan? The original article, written just before Memorial Day, has a note in it as of June 15 to email frugallivingonline@gmail.com for the current address, but the email hasn’t been working for myself or two other users. I have a huge pile of stuff in my dining room that people have donated to this cause, and now don’t know what to do with it. Thanks for any help or direction in this!

Anyone know if it’s one per household or can you buy multiples?

No Clark county????? Really?????? I am not dumpster diving for the sunday oregonian, have a friend who owns a tiny coffee shop people bring it in the sunday oregonian and leave them there she throws the paper in recyle bin and keeps the glossies for me, oh my goodness it is wonderful, for that when I get good deals I save some up for her and put them in a big basket with wonderful chocolates I can only get in Seattle and cheese and wine and THANK HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It saves my grocery bill enormously when I can shop and use the coupons, doublers and freebies save tax or just free a real bargain, recyle the glossies I don’t use at all..get food for the hungry, haba for those who are in great need, we use some for my family, share willingly with my dear friend and spoil her for her kindness..no out of pocket we get the Columbian on a deal you cannot believe can’t understand people who live in a community and don’t read the local newspaper at all…?????

Just called the phone number and they said they would only do this deal for new subscribers. Since I already get a paper they would not give me this deal :-( I gave her the promo code and told her that others on a website that I found out about this from have been getting the deal. She says ” If they were telling the truth, they would not get this deal”. Geez lady!

It says not for households who have had a subscription in the past 30 days-as it runs until August you could cancel your subscription and renew for this in 30 days.

I asked about multiple subscriptions and she said no but she did tell me that there is some sort of coupon promotion coming up for multiple subscriptions.

I was also just able to do this deal, even though I had a current subscription. I paid my account through today and paid the $19.99, and she said it will begin immediately.

I had a subscription card for this offer when we were here in June looking for a house, but couldn’t find it again. Searched online and found Frugal Living NW and here is was again. Ordered it today and it is indeed 1 year of the Sun and Tues paper for $19.99. That’s a wonderful price!

Just did it and I was told that in order to get the deal I needed the postcard that was sent out. Then they gave me an exception. Thanks for the heads up!

Attend the Super Saver Seminar. They will have a deal for multiple subscriptions. Limit 5 per households of the Sunday/Tuesday paper. I got all five for $99.95 for the entire year. I can’t wait:)
Find where there is the next seminar and attend.
