Welcome to our series, Food Cart Friday, where we explore a new food cart in and around Portland! Find more food cart reviews here.
Today’s review is from Dave, husband of our contributor, Kate, and connoisseur of all things delicious, from a cart, and cheap. I have no idea why his pictures are so blurry, but he is a sweaty man. That might explain it.
SW 3rd & Stark in Downtown Portland
Aiming to hit multiple birds with one stone, I recruited the help of my friend Jono, my former work collegue from Parliment Design to try out the Fransisco’s Taqueria food cart in downtown Portland while I reviewed Steaks Fifth Avenue. I had the pleasure of watching Jono eat a Super Bomb, one of the best burritos in Portland.
First off, the Super Bomb burrito is huge! Jono told me his arm was sore the next day after having to tote that thing back to work. (A Yelp reviewer called it “man-sized.”) And, as you can expect, it is filling. I don’t know how he did it, but he ate the whole thing. You could tell, from the glazed over look in his eyes that it hit the spot.
But it doesn’t stop there. The Super Bomb is out of this world delicious! Beans, rice, & cheese all mixed together make some sweet sweet magic in your mouth and tummy. Add a little green sauce to this bad boy and you’ve got yourself one smokin lunch special. Which brings me to my most important point.
The Super Burrito is $3! You will be hard pressed to find a more delicious burrito at a cheaper price.
The Super Burrito is huge (wear back support when purchasing)
It’s delicious (who would have thought mexican food tastes good?)
It’s CHEAP (in price, not quality…just to clarify)
Fransisco’s Taqueria is located at the food cart pods at SW 3rd & Stark in downtown Portland. They seem to be open all the time for lunch, dinner, and late-night fun, but there’s no official website or Facebook page to confirm actual hours.
