Don’t forget about the awesome Fred Meyer Fuchsia Event this Saturday (4/11) from 7 am-4 pm. You don’t have to buy fuchsias — you can purchase any plants or containers (or bring some from home) and they will help you plant your item in premium Black Gold Potting Soil.

Some tips from Jacki gave us last year. She has attended the event for years:

  • Purchase your plants the day before the event. This prevents waiting in two lines (one to purchase and one to plant).
  • Bring a time release fertilizer and have the planter add some to the mix
  • Request that the planter fill the dirt all the way to the top because it settles quite a bit as the air works out of the planting mix.

Also note that this event runs until 4pm. In my experience going early is actually the worst time for crowds.

Has anyone attended this before? What advice do you have?
