Are you free this Saturday (7/28)? How about heading to Damascus, Oregon and hitting up the annual Day in Damascus? This is my kids’ favorite annual summer event and we can’t wait to hit it up again this Saturday!
Day in Damascus
10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Damascus Centennial Park
20100 SE Hwy 212 in Damascus, Oregon
Day in Damascus is a community building, self-sustaining event which provides fun, affordable, kid-focused activities and creates a family-oriented, solicitation-free zone where community members can enjoy a day together. The event benefits Damascus Centennial Park improvements and community projects. Local businesses and organizations help the community by volunteering to co-ordinate, staff and sponsor activities and are rewarded by being positively recognized through this community-building event.
Events at the event include the following:
- kids’ activity booths with prizes
- pony rides
- petting zoo
- bounce houses
- food booths
- climbing wall
- field games
- live entertainment
- farmers’ and artists’ marketplace
Plus there’s a fantastic Safety Fair, including a child identification station and a bloodmobile, sponsored by the Boring Fire Department and Clackamas County Fire District.
You do need to purchase tickets for the many of these activities, which in past years has been just $.50 per ticket (the booths require just 1 ticket). The activities and prizes are donated by local businesses and all event proceeds go directly to Damascus Centennial Park improvements an community projects.
