I’ve been wanting to try out The Couponizer forever and am thrilled to do a review of this coupon organizing system.
The Couponizer® is an organizing and shopping system for coupons and other discounts. It contains six pieces:
- The Couponizer® – 8″ x 5¼” booklet with 18 grocery coupon pockets, 4 Non-grocery coupon pockets, 3 gift card/shopper loyalty sleeves, shopping pockets
- Shopping List – 20 page tear off list pad with cardboard backing
- CoupStacker – Pre-sorting mat color coded to match the system pockets
- CoupTracker – 15 page spiral bound list pad with cardboard backing
- Scissors – blunt tip
- Carrying Bag – clear vinyl zippered bag
What I love about this system of coupon organization:
the carrying bag — keeps all the “stuff” together and fits nicely into a larger purse or you can just carry alone.
the pre-sorting mat – enables you to quickly sort your coupons according to the envelope slots in the Couponizer book. Folds down compactly to fit inside the carrying bag.
the organizing categories — this is the perfect system for middle-of-the-road couponers. Most of you need more slots than a dollar store accordian file and not as many as Rebecca & me (we’re pretty hard core).
And let’s be honest, some of you are not interested in toting a large plastic box into the store. The Couponizer is a great solution.
the number of additional storage & organization options — I like keeping my loyalty and gift cards with my coupons. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone shopping only to discover that a gift card is in a different location! There are also slots to keep your receipts, shopping list, rebate information, restaurant coupons, etc. that often get overlooked in other organizational systems. You really don’t need additional envelopes or containers.
What I would change:
- the scissors — I find longer blade scissors to cut coupons most efficiently (Ikea, baby!). But your kids will enjoy them!
The Couponizer is ideal for those of you who clip selected coupons or 1-2 inserts every week. Much more than that and the system will be too stuffed to be useful. This is also perfect for those of you just starting out and need ideas how to start managing your new hobby or are outgrowing a smaller system!

I’m a fan on facebook.
I follow you guys with an RSS feed.
I am a middle of the roader. The box just did not work for me. I am currently using a photo album, but the sheets are thin and I am sure that they will tear. I WOULD SO USE THIS SYSTEM. Another problem is that if I inadverently carry upside down things fall out. Please choose me!!!!
I am in much need of something to get me sorting effectively. I hope I win, most of the other offers seem to be in the Portland/ORegon area. Thank you for all you do!
I’d love one of these. I’m a facebook follower!
my daughter and i just started to coupon, she is a single mom of two and needs to save where ever she can,we are followers on face book and just love what you have done to help us all save money. my husband and i just bought our first home so i am doing what i can to save where i can thank you again for all your hard work. we both are using envelopes for our coupons right now.
I’ve been stapling my Sunday inserts (SS, RP, etc…), and writing the date on the front with a permanent marker, and putting them chronological in a box. Then, when I go to say the Riteaid Deals of the week page you so kindly have, I can go directly to that date, and look for the coupon. I also copy and paste all the deals that interest me from the Deals page to a blank word document, and print it out. I fold the bottom up about a third, staple the sides, and can tuck my coupons for that store in the pocket, and checking off the coupons/deals that I’ve completed. I’m a beginner, but so far, this works well for me. Staples, at the beginning of school year, has great deals on paper reams, so I can get paper cheap. Just ideas to pass along…
