by Angela Davis on December 31, 2012

Looking for some fun baking recipes for you and your troops this New Years Eve? Check out Safeway’s Pinterest boards for some sweet inspiration. I found a fun Sugar Cookie Pop recipe and Nate and I went to work making the dough.

The rest of the kids helped with the decorating.

Safeway has a great resource for your parties with a list of dessert and cocktail pairings as well as the Safeway Beverage Calculator, designed to help you determine the right amount of bevies to purchase for your New Year’s party.

Visit¬†Safeway on Pinterest¬†for holiday inspiration and recipes for holiday meals, sides, baking, and dessert and drink pairings. You can also head over to Safeway’s Facebook page to play the Pin2Win Sweepstakes to win a $50 gift card (the Sugar Cookie Pop recipe is one of the entry options!).

I enjoy having a glass of champagne on New Year’s Eve and giving my husband a kiss at midnight. :)

This year, one of our favorite New Year’s things we did at our party at our home was to have everyone write their name down on a funny chalkboard nametag where they scrambled the letters of their names. Not everyone knew each other; we had some guests from out of town, so this was a lot of fun. :)

We like to have family night with the kids, this year we played dominoes until the ball dropped on t.v. and all the chaos was done outside and all went home. Happy new year to all.

Ever since I was a little girl it’s our tradition to run outside the minute the ball drops at midnight and bang pots & pans and yell “Happy New Year”, as loud as you can! :)

Following you on pinterest :)

We stay at home on New Years to play games and go to bed on time (no staying up late with a baby who thinks sleep is over rated!). Homemade pizza is always on the menu :)

We usually stay home and try to stay awake! Not easy since we are such early risers.

Terry January 1, 2013 at 9:41 am

We buy a couple small lobster tails (on sale) and celebrate at home!

Teresa January 1, 2013 at 8:31 am

We stay home and TRY to stay awake! That is hard after only ONE glass of champagne – we are such light weights!

We toast the New Year after watching the ball drop. Sometimes we watch the ball drop at 9pm and go to bed early (west coast). Not real exciting ;)
