In the past two weeks, I have had a lot on my plate. And unfortunately, none of it was edible. I was juggling four different big projects, along with our regularly scheduled life.
This meant staying up until the wee hours of the morning and getting up a few hours later just to stay on top of everything. It was a crazy pace. And it gave me a renewed appreciation for those of you who are balancing crazy schedules of your own. Life is busy, and the holidays take everything up a notch.
While cooking from scratch will always be my passion and my preference, I also understand that it is not always realistic. When life gets busy, convenience food is just that, convenient. It allows us to budget our time, feed our families, and maintain our sanity when life gets crazy.
So while I think nothing of staying up until one in the morning shaping homemade cinnamon rolls or doing party preparations, I’m getting better at admitting that I can’t do it all. I’m ready for some convenience in my life, and Great Value delivered just in time.
Last week, twelve friends (and our 27 kids!) filled my house to pack Welcome Boxes together. In the midst of everything else going on in life, it was so helpful to have shortcuts in the kitchen: Great Value’s refrigerated doughs. I was able to provide some substantial snacks for my hard-working crew without losing sleep doing it.
I think I could get used to this. And coming from me, that’s saying a lot.
