As we all know, coupons for produce are few and far between, especially if you don’t live near a SuperTarget. It is still possible, however, to use coupons to help purchase healthy foods by looking for items on sale, with high dollar coupons and, if your store has them, double coupons. I did this Monday and used the overages to go towards fruits and vegetables.
1.20 lbs. broccoli $1.79
2.56lbs. organic apples $3.79
5lb bag yellow onions $2.99
5lb. bag carrots $2.99
1lb strawberries $2.00 – Free 1lb. Stawberries coupon
Daisy Sour Cream $2.29 – $.50/1 – $.50 Safeway double = $1.29
I could have made another $.62 in overage but I wanted sour cream. This is just one of many examples of making couponing work for you.
Check out Angela’s post on this weeks Safeway deals to see what will make you an overage for your next purchase. Hope this helps!
