Some of you have asked if we have seen the $10 off or 20% off Amazon coupon we used to see in the parenting magazines a few months back. Well, we haven’t seen it for 3-4 months now, so we need to throw in the towel on that sweet deal for the time being.
With the fun being over, we often get asked if we still think Amazon is a great place for diapers and wipes. We enthusiastically say, YES! Here’s few examples of how we know Amazon is still the place to buy.
:: Diapers — Huggies Snug & Dry Diapers, Size 4, 140 Count are just $23.51 with Subscribe & Save which comes out to just $.17 a diaper shipped. This is the same price as Target brand size 4 AND I don’t have to load 3 kids in the car to go get them. And with gas prices as high as they are, Target diapers would end up being a higher price if you factored gas into the cost. Comparing the cost of this size 4 diaper with other store brands, we’re assuming that the other sizes will match up as well.
:: Wipes — Costco wipes are $.02 a wipe which is the price we compare all wipe deals with. On Amazon, you can get Pampers ThickCare 7x Wipes, Unscented, 504 Count for just $9.79 with Subscribe & Save which is still just $.02 a wipe. I should mention that we have also priced Target wipes which are 1.7 cents a wipe but we both find them to be so flimsy that we end up using twice as much as other brands thereby negating our savings.
:: Baby food — We all know that homemade is best. It’s the cheapest and the most nutritious. But there are people who don’t enjoy or don’t have time to make their own. And there are some that need to do both homemade and pre-packaged. Our price point for baby food is $.50 a jar for regular and $.60 a jar for organic. Amazon regularly has sales on Earth’s Best baby food that fall within those price points. They come in 12 packs of varied fruits and vegetables. Amazon also carries Gerber, but we haven’t seen the prices fall below the store prices.
These are just 3 of the many examples we can give about why Amazon is still good without the “super coupon”. I plan on ordering the Huggies today because I haven’t found any deals, it’s raining, and I just plain like the UPS man dropping diapers on my door step. And who knows, we may just see that coupon pop up in the Fall. Fingers crossed!
