Every Monday morning I hit up Target to scout out the deals and get them ready to post. Then I make my way back home hitting all stores along my path that could have deals. I’m not driving out of my way, just taking a few extra minutes to pop in a hopes for some coupon magic.
Here’s what I scored today:
5 General Mills cereals (Deal scenario here)
Paid $6.90, got $5 gift card
Wishbone dressing (I don’t normally buy this but needed it for a recipe — no coupon)
9 Ore-Ida potato products (we make Paula Deen’s hashbrown quiche alot so I stocked up)
Suave professionals shampoo
2 UP & UP straws
Heart cake pan on 70% off clearance
Heart slippers on 70% off clearance
Used $5 gift card from transaction #1

:: Fred Meyer
I went for the Al Fresco chicken sausages and got a big surprise! $2/1 peelies on the product which made them $1.99!
Silk Soymilk (best price with blnikie coupon)
4 Al Fresco sausages
1 head cauliflower
2 bunches of bananas (not the best per/lb price but they were ripe)

I almost didn’t stop here but I was driving right by it so I decided not to be lazy. I’m so glad I did!
1 Dannon Oikos Greek yogurt on clearance for 50% off + $1/1 peelie coupon on the product
2 Yopa! yogurts
1 Nestle Toll House Valentine’s day cookie dough on clearance for 50% off (I also had the $.75/1 coupon from a recent insert with me. We will use these for my daughter’s birthday party this weekend)
Used double coupon
FREE + $.26 overage (the cashier paid me even when I told him not to!)
*I’ve been scoring great deals on plain yogurt recently so to cut down on my stock I’m freezing it in ice cube trays for smoothies.

Last stop and I didn’t have high hopes. I went for the Barilla pasta sauce which was gone. Oh well, there will be another sale. I opted for the pasta instead.
3 Barilla pastas
FREE after coupons & doubles

In 1 hour of shopping, that was on my path home, I spent $48.82 and I have more than enough for weekly meals including dairy and produce. I only have $25 left in my grocery budget for the month so I’ll be skipping deals and focusing on produce and dairy for the remainder of the month.
What great deals have you found recently? Come up with any great strategies to deal shopping 1-2 times per week? We would love to know!
