If you’re looking to declutter your home and make some money at the same time, how about consigning your children’s gently used clothing, accessories and toys? Cousins’ Closet Consignment Sale, held in Beaverton, is the last spring/summer consignment event in the Portland Metro area and there is still plenty of time to sign up to be a consignor!
Becoming a consignor is easy — just register and pay your $6 consignor fee up front (you can register through June 2). Then start preparing and pricing your items for sale (lots of instructions and tips here). Drop your items off at the scheduled time and let the folks at Cousins’ Closet do the rest! You will get 70% of your sale (or 80% if you volunteer to work a shift at the sale) and the check will be sent to you within two weeks of the end of the sale.
I have found that I spend far less time in total consigning my kids’ clothing at consignment sales than hosting a garage sale and I make significantly more money. You can sell almost anything baby, kid and maternity related at the Cousins’ Closet sale. Plus, one of the big bonuses of consigning at an event like this is you get to shop before the general public!
