A menu plan is one of the most important things you can do to save money as well as relieve stress.
Monday : Indonesian Crockpot Chicken on whole wheat pasta, spinach salad
Wednesday: Leftover soup
Thursday: Dinner for 9 at my place plus a gaggle of kids –
Friday: John McCain’s Rib Recipe in the crockpot – Apparently he actually does have a rib recipe and I just happen to have some ribs in the far corner of my freezer that I need to use.
Saturday: Crockpot Pasta Fagioli – this is base on Olive Garden’s soup, Mmmmm, homemade breadsticks
Cost: Now my cost so far this week is not normal and I also have to purchase a couple of things, but so far out of pocket is $12.68. That is because I used $30 of my catalinas at Safeway from a recent moneymaker. $10 of the $12.68 was on my raw goat milk we drink. I will need to buy 1lb. of ground beef for the soup adding $3.59 to my total. Other than that, I won’t be spending much on groceries this week. So even without the catalinas my food budget for the week is well within my $50 limit.
