Last week I ditched the kids with the babysitter and hit a new-to-me discount store in Gresham, Oregon (SE 202nd & Stark-ish). Sometimes the place is a total dud — tons of moderately priced boxed food and some strange housewares, but this time I hit the jackpot.
- Frozen broccoli and cauliflower — $1 per bag
- Darigold Cottage Cheese — $.50 per tub
- Cut fruit — $.50 each
- Dole salad kits — $.50 per bag
- Green bean & carrots — $.50 per bag
I blanched most of the green beans & carrots and froze them. My kids downed the fruit and I forgot about the bagged apple slices and they are now bad. Whoops.
I paid right around $15 for all that is pictured above, plus three pairs of superhero gloves — which accounted for $5.97 of the total purchase.
Yes, the “Hey, let me take a picture of you for the blog!” fun has officially worn off. They are barely humoring me at this point.
Why do I look possessed in this picture? Must be the Dutch.
I also picked up a FREE coffee at Dutch Brothers. Yummy. My husband, who owns a contracting business, was sent a stack of free coffee cards for his employees. Since he is now a one-man-show, I scored half of them. He promptly emailed the Dutch Bros. franchise owner who sent him the cards trying to score you all a deal on gift cards. The man can work things, that’s for sure.
What deals have you scored over the past week?
