I’ve spent a good deal of time reconsidering how I do my couponing classes. I absolutely love meeting people interested in saving money and meeting their family’s financial goals specifically by couponing. The problem is that doing several classes a month keeps me away from my family, especially my sweet husband who actually likes hanging out with me. And with a new baby coming soon (very soon?) getting away will become nearly impossible.
Here’s my solution: I plan to teach one couponing class a month. This class will be a Couponing Express class — one hour of couponing basics as opposed to my current two hour, intensive Couponing 101 class. The Couponing Express class will be followed up by a Couponing Workshop where anyone can come trade coupons, organize and just talk shop with fellow deal-hunters.
Here are the details for the first class:
Thursday, October 8
Damascus Community Church Library
Admission: FREE with donation of 5 non-perishable items to the
Camp Withycombe National Guard Base Food Pantry
RSVP to frugallivingnw @ gmail.com
I will email you with the worksheets you will need to print and bring to the class as the date approaches
Frugal Living NW Couponing Workshop
Thursday, October 8
7:30-9:00 pm, following the Couponing Express class
Admission: FREE — please bring a donation to the Camp Withycombe Food Pantry
**The class and workshop are both open to the public. Adults only please. Tiny babies are welcome to come with their mamas.
I will be taking November & December off to adjust to having four little ones and start classes again in January.
I am also looking for churches and community organizations to host the monthly classes. If your group would like to host a free Couponing Express Class & Workshop, open to the public, please email me at frugallivingonline @ gmail.com for more details. I already have January on the books (Montavilla Baptist Church in SE Portland) and am scheduling for February – June 2010. I don’t sell anything at the class, except for promoting Frugal Living NW and other local blogs as a resource to participants. I’d love to help churches and community groups connect with their communities by offering this class.
I am open to traveling a bit so don’t be shy about contacting me if you’re outside the Portland Metro area (south Willamette Valley, Clark County & Puget Sound area).
For those of you who have attended my previous classes requiring tuition, don’t feel like you wasted money. The Couponing Express Class will cover the basics. The class you attended was far more extensive!
