Amazon has the Cuisinart Mesh Strainers, Set of 3 for $12.99 right now (reg. $22). This is a great buy for quality strainers. I use the small one when I’m draining whey off yogurt to make it thicker. The middle size is great for straining chicken stock before putting it into freezer containers. And the larger one is always good for pasta. Great buy!

Have you used these for quinoa? I just got a new strainer, and when rinsing my uncooked quinoa, I found that the mesh is too big. I am on the hunt for a finer mesh.
I haven’t. I read that it’s okay just to drain off the top and rinse again. That all the stuff you don’t want will float to the top. But the small one I have might do the trick. I don’t think the quinoa would go through but the small pieces would.
I’ve done that with rice, but never thought of trying it with quinoa. Might have to go back to the boxed quinoa — it comes pre-rinsed, so no bitter taste.
Costco organic quinoa is pre-rinsed, and last time I bought it, was $7.99 for 4 pounds!
Love Costco’s organic quinoa!
Thanks Jessica! Once again….. Gotta love Costco.
