*Lowest Price!* Lodge 6 Quart Dutch Oven (Island Spice Red) for just $39.49 shipped

by Angela on May 4, 2013

You all know how much we adore No-Knead Bread. And a good Dutch Oven helps a lot. Amazon has the Lodge Color Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven, Island Spice Red, 6-Quart for $39.49 with FREE shipping right now. This is the lowest price we’ve seen in a long time so move fast.

Wondering what to do with a Dutch Oven? Here’s a bit from Emily:

My Dutch ovens get used on a weekly basis. Not only have I baked dozens of loaves of No-Knead Bread in them, but I also prefer them over my stock pot for making soup, stew, or chili. The cast iron ensures even heat transfer, the enamel coating is chip-resistant, and the heavy lid seals in heat and steam. I have been perfectly happy with my Lodge Dutch Oven; it gets just as much use as my Le Creuset, for a fraction of the cost.

Does it have the same spikey lid the plain cast iron one has? Also… can anyone compare the weight of this one vs. the weight of the 5 qt cast iron? Is it the same cast iron with an enamel coating? As it is, I can’t lift the 5 qt one if it has anything at all in it :( I have to rely on my kids and that is scary with it so hot for the bread recipe.

Okay, I’m completely in for one! I was ‘thinking’ about it at the <$45 price point but <$40? What could I do?
