Zaycon Foods is coming with ground beef in December (ordering opens tonight!)

by Angela Davis on November 16, 2011

Zaycon Foods, a Northwest company that sells larger quantity boxes of fresh meat and vegetables at a volume discount, is coming to the Oregon and Washington next month delivering ground beef! This sale will probably sell out quickly, so I want to make sure you’re all prepared. Here’s what I know:

Ground Beef (93/7) — $2.89 per pound; 40 pound boxes = $115.60

Anticipated Delivery Dates: December 5-12 (Washington) and December 13-15 (Oregon)

We’ve purchased Zaycon ground beef before and have been very pleased with it. The beef is fresh (never frozen) and comes in (4) 10 pound tubes. The packages are very easy to divide into meal-sized portions for the freezer and super easy to share with a friend.

The price is comparable to Costco’s 80/20 price. I think the value with Zaycon’s ground beef is not in the rock bottom price (as it is with their chicken sales), but with the price verses quality. In this case, you’re paying a good price for a fantastic product. Everyone I’ve talked with about Zaycon ground beef believes it to be among the best tasting ground beef they’ve ever had.

Ordering opens at 5:00 pm Pacific today (11/16). To prepare, make sure you have a Zaycon Foods account. At 5:00 pm today, just log into your Zaycon account and place your order! Note that the ground beef sale is not listed on the site before the sale begins (and won’t be until 5 pm Pacific). I do not know the exact locations, dates and times at this point.

For those of you who are new to Zaycon, you will go to the delivery location at the specified time, roll through the parking lot and pick up your boxes of ground beef. You don’t have to leave your car.

Thanks, Fabulessly Frugal!

I am so excited about this deal. Our family got this before and it was great quality. I cooked 10lbs of it into taco meat, (we love tacos and burritos in our house) and froze it. Made about 10 lbs of it into spaghetti sauce, and did about 5 lbs into hamburger patties. The rest I just froze into 1 lb baggies. I haven’t had to buy ground beef at the grocery store forever. So convenient!

Also you don’t have to constantly be on the lookout for a good price because this will stock you up at a price that is basically the lowest I have seen in awhile for 93/7.

Heather, you might find a better price, but like mentioned above this is top quality ground beef. When cooking this up I never have to drain, there just isn’t any grease and it tastes great.

Exactly, the store 93/7 seems like you still have to drain it, so I consider the dishes I won’t have to do because I didn’t have to drain it.

I think the price is comparable to a loss-leader at the grocery store. It’s not the lowest price I’ve seen on 93/7 ground beef, but it’s close. Considering the quality, I think it’s a good deal.
