Printing coupons using Windows 8

by Kate from Frugal Living NW on October 31, 2012

Windows 8 was just released last Friday. If you try to print coupons from you might run into a few problems. The coupon printer uses an Active X control that has been disabled by Microsoft in Windows 8 Metro Mode (the one that looks like a touch screen).

To print coupons in Windows 8, you will need to visit from a browser opened in Windows 8 Classic mode (looks like Windows 7). Just navigate back to the classic mode by selecting the desktop tile or using the small windows button. Then open your browser, clip and print like normal.

Thanks, For the Mommas!

I got a new computer which runs windows 8. I successfully printed a batch of coupons early last week and I had to install the coupon printer to do so (it had not yet been installed on the new computer). Now all of a sudden today, I keep getting this pop up saying “are you running windows 8?” and it tells me how to switch to classic mode so that I can print the coupons, however “I am already in classic mode!!” Then when I click ok it prompts me to download the coupon printer, which I already did, but I tried to click on it anyway and nothing happens. It’s stuck on that screen. When I googled this problem, I’m finding lots of people having this printing issue. It’s not working for me in classic mode (that’s the only mode I use, I hate the other mode)
