Quick Handmade Gift: Kitchen Hand Scrub

I previously posted about a local blogger event hosted by Albertsons that showcased easy holiday entertaining ideas. If you’re looking for a quick hostess gift that your kids can help you with, try out this Handmade Kitchen Hand Scrub. You probably have all the ingredients in your pantry.

Kitchen Hand Scrub

  • 1 ½ cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup kosher salt
  • Zest of one extra large lemon, orange or lime
  • 1 cup olive oil (pure works best, but I only had extra virgin)
  • ¼ teaspoon pure lemon extract, optional

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well. If you would like a slightly stronger fragrance, add the extract.

Spoon into a pretty jar and tighten the lid. Wipe any spills or drops from outside the jar. Makes enough for one pint canning jar. You can make a cute label and stick it to the lid or attach it to the ribbon.

My daughter and I whipped this up in just a few minutes. We used the zest of one small tangerine — all we had in the house. And we were able to get it done while this was happening:

Merry Christmas! Angela

So random question, in the bottom picture of your son upset, where did you get those chairs that are in the back of the photo?

I can totally relate to the last photo…my 20 month would be doing that OR pulling up a chair to climb up to help. 🙂
    Merry Christmas!
