I have never seen Restaurant.com offer a deal like this. Until September 13 at 3 am Pacific, you can get a $25 gift certificate for just $1 (90% off the original price)! Word is that certificates run out quickly during the big discount times so get over there if you’re interested!
If you’re unfamiliar with Restaurant.com, here’s how it works: You buy a gift certificate through the website. With a $25 certificate, you usually have to spend $35. For instance, if I go to Eastport Izzy’s, I have to have a $35 total. I use the $25 gift certificate, which costs me $1 and I pay Izzy’s $10 + tip. My total out of pocket is $11 + tip for a $35 tab.
Here’s how you purchase your certificates:
- Go to Restaurant.com (click on the graphic above) and search for restaurants in your area. In the Portland Metro area, there are about 110 restaurants from which to choose.
- Fill your “shopping cart” with gift certificates (the best deal is the $25 ones–only $1 each). There is no minimum, so you can just get one $25 certificate if you’re a bit hesitant. Be sure to read the fine print before you purchase a certain restaurant as some have changed the requirements from $35 total to $50+ for a $25 certificate.
- When you checkout, use the code NINETY and 90% will be deducted from your total.
- Print the certificates from your computer when you’re ready to go out. You don’t have to use them immediately. I suggest you stock up now as 90% off is an incredible deal!
I am unfamiliar with most of the restaurants, but that is part of the fun — trying new places!
Tip your server on the total before discounted amount — remember that generosity is an essential component to living frugally!
