I was out of town this weekend, so didn’t have the chance to run to Rite Aid until today. I was really surprised to not only find what I wanted, but that everything was still really well-stocked. The only thing I couldn’t find was Boogie Wipes, which to be honest, weren’t a necessity anyway.
I was so excited to find that Arm & Hammer carries a Sensitive variety with no additional perfumes or dyes. Besides the fact that I don’t really want perfumes or dyes in our detergent, my youngest son has pretty sensitive skin and we can’t use just anything to wash his clothes. I didn’t even know they carried this variety!

After factoring in my +UP Rewards, this is like spending $.20 per item! If you really want to break it down, this is like paying less than $.01 per load for the Arm & Hammer detergent.
I can’t wait to hear how you did this week, I am having so much fun shopping at Rite Aid lately!
Be sure to check out the rest of this week’s Rite Aid deals here.

I’ve had the same experience at the RA off 185th in Beaverton. The items are usually all gone by the time I get there. On Wed, after work, and getting my daughter from daycare, and praying I have 10 minutes to get my items before she times out…(those of you with toddlers understand), I was so disappointed when all the A&H’s were gone, Boogies, and Keri lotions. The good news is the checker gave me Rainchecks (with Up Reward) for all the items I wanted, and I still scored the deal on the spinbrushes and Stayfree pads. 🙂
well same problem here in pasco we have a shelf clearer this girl fills her cart with all the free stuff and cashiers let her pay for it. she’s got like 15 diferent riteaid cards but she’s a sweet talker and has the managers wraped around her little finger. i’ve seen her at riteaid on 4th and the new one on gage.she tells the cashiers what to do. i don’t know what she does with so much stuff but that is sad cause she does coupon fraud uses coupons she is not supposed to but they let her do it. sad
i was VERY, VERY bummed because when i went on Tuesday to the RA on Sunnyside (Happy Valley area) they were out of Keri & the Ester-C that i REALLY wanted. i just wanted 1 Keri, and 4 Ester-C since i tend to take them to work and share with everyone anytine there is fear of catching someone’s cold…. When i asked a cashier when they thought they might get more stock in, i found that their stock already HAD come in earlier in the day and that if there was none on the shelves there wouldn’t be until next week. 🙁 I forgot to get my rein checks as i was semi rushed by my honey at the register, and i think that even though he told me that they wouldn’t get more until next week, i might go back by just in case. Oh and PLUS, for some reason my toothpaste didn’t give me the +up’s even though it looks like i got the same as pictured above… at least it was free since i was rolling rewards.
Sorry they were out of what you wanted, I was really shocked that they had what I wanted so late in the week. It’s so hard to feel rushed, I always make a mistake or forget something!
On the toothpaste-it was for the 5.8 oz size-I noticed there was another size of the same kind-so that may have been what happened. If you do go back you could return it and try again, if they have any more.
I went to my best store tonight-on Farmington and at first looked like they were cleared out of the Keri & Colgate also-but I asked and they had tons of boxes in the back still and brought more out for me & restocked.
Loved everyone’s comments I’ve only been to rite aid once trying to figure out the couponing, sales and up rewards and all. Just started couponing recently and still a little baffled by it all. I guess I need to go there more often it is hard with 2 young children, plus the rite aide is across town so a nice drive but thanks to everyone’s comments I think I will have to try there more often. I did get a good deal at Albertsons yesturday though on the sensitive Arm and hammer deterent and some vo5 shampoo, plus some coupons I had. Bought about $80 worth of stuf for $43 so a 50% savings felt good. Hope to learn more and thanks for everyone’s input and info
Keep trying-you will soon be saving 75%+ (often there are free or money making deals also). It does take a little while to get the hang of it all-but Rite Aid has the best deals and is less complicated.
I learn a lot from the comments also-I like to read them before I go shopping to see if anything new has popped up-or further details & that it is working as planned!
I go to a store that gets PLENTY of stock on most sale items. I also communicate with the store the amount I am interested in. I go back all throughout the week as they do have limits of 4 like coupons per day. I very rarely clear a shelf and if I do it is because they have 4 or less of said item. I do sell my extra items at garage sales throughout the year as I am a SAHM and it helps do some extra things we could not otherwise. The people that work at Rite Aid know this and it is not against any rules. If they are enforcing there coupon rules correctly a person can only buy 4 of the same coupon item per day, this does not seem excessive to me.
4 isn’t excessive, which makes me think-the example Natasha saw above-where there were 4 cartloads-clearly they weren’t enforcing the rule-they probably were allowing 4 per card (and I can’t even imagine how many cards that person must use).
As I said above, I think we need to start talking to our stores and ask them to enforce this-so there is some left for the rest of us!
i bought 3 bottles of the dual action wipes, and was filling out the rebate, then i noticed on the reciept it said 28 count but it is the 35, do you think lysol will still send me the check? or should i peel off one of the lables to show them?
I would never have noticed that on my receipt if you didn’t say something! I just looked at one of my bottles and you could probably take the UPC off with an Exacto and send it in. Or add in a short note with the form with the UPC code written on it. Darn Rite Aid! 🙂
I had the same thing on my receipt. I asked the checker and manager about it and they said it must have been entered on their computer incorrectly. The wipes don’t even come in a 28 count and the ones I purchased were 35 count, same as you. I included a note with my rebate with scanned photos of the UPCs on each and I just received my rebate check in the mail yesterday, so it worked.
Thanks for updating us Kiki, so glad it worked for you!
The only detergent I will use is Arm and Hammer Sensitive without fragrance. I do add some washing soda to it to enhance cleaning ability (baking soda can be converted to washing soda in a 400 degree oven for 1 hour but keep in a sealed jar to avoid absorbing moisture from the air).
I went Tuesday and all I was interested in was the Keri Lotion (limit 1 right?) and the arm and hammer detergent (i was going to get 2). Oh and I did the Secret Clinical because that is what I use and rarely get it for free.
The Keri & detergent were wiped out. I was bummed 🙁 So I asked the checker if I could get a rain check or possibly pay for the items now. She said that I could get an item in a different brand that is equal in original price and she could mark it all the way down! And she said she would take my coupons on the original items. This was the best service I had ever gotten at Rite Aid and thought it was a great way to resolve the little amount of stock they carry.
As I was checking out I glanced over at the check stand that was closed that had 4 shopping carts hanging out of it. I spied the Keri Lotion and Arm and Hammer. I asked the checker if it was all the person in line’s and she said yes. I told her that I thought there was a limit on the items and she replied that they are “buying for family”. I said “you mean using different rewards cards?” and she said yes.
I WAS SO TICKED!!!!! If I had gotten there before this HORTER I would have gotten my 1 bottle of Keri and 2 bottles of Arm and Hammer. How about they follow the rules like everyone else?!?
Sounds like a woman in my area as well. She will wipe out both of our Rite Aids in town. I have had her clear a shelf and load up her cart just in front of me and then I am unable to get the things that I want.
When I made a comment the checker told me that this lady donates what she gets. A few weeks later I saw the same lady running a booth at a flea market selling items that I know she had gotten from couponing. She had a line out of her booth and was making good money. I was so mad!! She is clearing the shelf to make profit and I am unable to get what I would actually use for my family.
Take a picture of her at the flea market and show it to your RA. Seriously. A good Mgr will put a stop to that pronto.
I think too the stores shouldn’t allow that-it is up to them to enforce rules. I do donate a lot of items & shop off of 2-3 cards for others and still get plenty. I think the example above is beyond excessive & not fair to other shoppers. It hurts the stores too, because if you consistently can’t get the sale items, you will quit trying.
Rite Aid in general has helped by putting lower limits than they used to-but obviously this person is really “bending” the rules too far.
It is my personal opinion when I see people like that-I think they must be selling what they buy.
Don’t even get me started on this. There is a lady I see quite a bit at my Rite Aid that is constantly clearing the shelves. I would get so mad, but tried to give her the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe she has a big family or donates it all (even though I still don’t think thats right). I was sure in for a suprise this summer when I was out doing my Saturday morning garage saling, and happened to go to this ladies house for a garage sale. Does anyone want to guess what she was selling? That’s right, her garage looked like a mini Rite Aid. I was floored! I played dumb and asked her where she gets all this stuff, she said she gets it all from Rite Aid for free or practically free. She even admitted that she doesn’t even use 90% of what she buys, she just loves getting a deal! I couldn’t believe it! Hello, I have a growing family and use 100% of what I buy! Ok, enough of my rant. I am glad I am not alone in my annoyance with these people.
I think we should start talking to our Rite Aid’s and ask them to put limits & let them know it is discouraging to us who are moderate shoppers. I was thinking about it myself this morning after I went to two stores and there was no colgate or Keri lotion left & I wasted all that time & gas looking. I was trying to get some for 2 other families-that isn’t excessive and they are in need! There was only a limit of 1 on the Keri, so really there should be some left.
Mary you could let them know you saw what that lady does when she clears shelves.
Great idea Charolyn. I will definately do that the next time I am in there. Happy couponing!
Oh gosh, sometimes it is a nightmare. I have to vent about the hoarders at our store too. There is one girl who comes in her jammies and slippers when the store opens, then lets her friends and parents in line and is so darn disorganized that if you get behind her in line you could be waiting for an hour or more. I try to make it through the checkout before them with my 1 or 2 items, because they have cartfuls and 20 transactions each. One of the checkers is wonderful and he alternates customer between each hoarder transaction (one for the hoarders, one for the rest of us) and that works well. Other checkers are completely overwhelmed by her and her clan. I always pray that they open another register. Several times she found in her disorganized transactions that she didn’t have enough coupons or cash to cover all her items. Then she just leaves them in the cart in line and walks out the store. Hello! Who does that? I guess I would at least put the items back on the shelf, and be considerate of others. Several times I have just picked items out of her abandoned cart that she has wiped off the shelves because I couldn’t get one otherwise after her shelf clearing. It is so ridiculous to witness every week. People can be so darn greedy. I buy 1 or 2 items and I don’t most everything I get. If you’re going to clear a shelf, order your supply with the manager. If you’re going to do 20 transactions, be considerate of others and get back in line between them.
I meant to say “donate” most everything I get.
Rite Aid is also so much easier then Walgreens. We also get more rewards. Though I do have togo to Walgreens once in awhile. My favorite is Rite Aid. My favorite grocery store is Albertsons.
I agree! When I started couponing-I did Walgreens and not Rite Aid. Then about a year ago I started Rite Aid and found it MUCH easier-plus I am in the Portland area, so Walgreens doesn’t offer near as much as they used to.
Did anyone else find the Foster Grant reading glasses in their area? My store didn’t carry them. There’s a promo for BOGO 50% off + $10 UP and there is an adperk for $5 off. Supposidly makes them free, which my dad could use for sure 🙂
I asked a cashier about the Foster Grant glasses (I was able to find lots of other brands but not FG) and she said something like they usually don’t have them around until the spring and summer. So I guess she might have been referring to sunglasses. In any case, I couldn’t find any FG glasses of any kind either. I wonder why they would bother with a sale and +ups then? Oh, well.
My store had a sunglasses area-on the usual type stand-by the cosmetics.
The reading glasses were on the side of the front of one of the aisles-in a different area. I believe the sale was on any brand-for the $10 +up. don’t know about the ad perk-would still be a good price I think without it.
I didn’t find any FG reading glasses, but I did find sunglasses in that brand. Was the Adperk specific for brand or type? I didn’t watch it.
the video value coupon was specific to the Foster Grant reading glasses only. I couldn’t find them either and looked all over two different Rite Aids 🙁
Yes my Rite Aid had tons of Foster Grant sunglasses and tons of non-Foster Grant reading glasses….exactly 3 pairs of (ugly) Foster Grant reading glasses (with light) for 24.99 each. So with the BOGO 50% it would be 37.49 – $5 VV Q = $32.48 for both or $16.24 each. So I passed up this “deal”…there are tons of reading glasses that are way cuter for a lot less!
I also was surprised A&H had the sensitive detergent. Now that I know this, I’m definitely going to have to stock up on those instead of regular detergent. Did you see that there was sensitive Purex at Walgreens as well this week? 🙂
