The only way I can get my printables through is to profile my cashiers. I almost always do this. I have found this to work almost everytime.

I got the Gold ‘nSoft deal earlier this week. Not only did I get the .75 cat, I also got another coupon for more Gold ‘nSoft. I stocked up big, and am freezing it, the way mama taught me, back in the day!!!! The Safeway in Murrayhill has accepted all coupons I have presented.

    I bought Newman’s lemonade today-1.99 & with a .50 coupon & double=.99. Is really good too-natural ingredients & no corn syrup.
    Always panti liners-extra long 2.99 for 30-with .50 coupon/double=1.99.
the regular type-50 count is around 3.49.
Mariani dried fruit-check for blinkie $1 coupon by it-is on sale: dried bananas 1.50, apricots $2 & dried cherries $3. Doesn’t double-but really good prices even so.
Free Monteray Burrito 2 pack coupon-up to $1-are 1.25. They are quite tasty too!

I was informed at my Safeway store today that I couldn’t double internet printed coupons. I asked why we could no longer double internet coupons on the Safeway Facebook page and just received this answer:
“Elizabeth, in the past, internet printed coupons weren’t able to be doubled. This policy remains in place with the current doubl’r coupon program. We will certainly pass your comments along to our Marketing Team for their review.—Matthew, Customer Service”

That means the Capri Sun and Gold n’ Soft deals above won’t work. So sad! 🙁

I’d try another location when you have time — some are a bit more lenient.

Safeway does not double printable coupons in OR. Only manufacturer coupons that are from inserts, peelies, hangtags, packaging, mailers, or similar. I have had several checkers refuse to double my printed coupons. See the language below the “Amount” blanks. Any guidance on this?

The new doubler does not to discriminate against printables but against eCoupons.

According to Matthew in Customer Service on Safeway’s Facebook page the doubler does discriminate against printables. My Safeway pointed out that the new wording on the Doubl’r states, “Downloads from websites or reproductions will not be accepted.” They said that internet printables are “downloads from websites”. In another part of the Doubl’r it states, “…does NOT apply to any Safeway coupon, electronic check-out coupon,…” I would assume that the electronic check-out coupon they refer to is referring to the eCoupons. So both are prohibited on the new Doubl’r.

This seems like a dumb policy, because essentially the type of paper the coupon is printed on determines whether it’s acceptable. Given manufacturers’ growing preference for online coupons, the policy seems unsustainable–especially considering that coupons are an important factor in new product launches and growing market share. It might be worth pointing out to manufacturers that do business with Safeway that one of the nation’s largest grocers is obstructing their marketing efforts.

Ugh, why don’t they say “internet printables” if that is what they mean?

Buy 2 shampoo with the in ad coupon at $2.49 each, the total will be $4.98. Use the the $3 off 2 coupon from the 7/3 P&G insert now your total is $1.98 for 2. Use 1 Safeway double from the Safeway ad which allows you up to $.50 more off for each manufacturer coupon you use. Now your total is $1.48, since you bought 2, divide that by 2 and you get a great deal of $.74 each!

I just did this and my total was -$0.04, thats negative 4 cents. Heres what I did:

I bought one shampoo and one conditioner and two stylers.

I used (2) $1/1 herbal essence or aussie product coupons for the shampoo and conditioner, (2) $3/1 styler when you buy one herbal essence or aussie and (1) safeway doubler which doubled 0.50 and each of the four above used coupons.. My cashier gave me my four cents I donated it to their charity box at the register.

I tried to do this at two different safeways yesterday and they would not accept the coupon. First was told they couldnt do it because it was going to make it free.. then because it was oing to give money, which it wasnt, then because it was for what was in the picture.. and finally because the coupon wouldnt scan for the packets
