Safeway: Crazy Kraft Catalina Plus e-coupons {My Shopping Trip}

There are some crazy e-coupons for Kraft items that match up with the Kraft Catalina right now at Safeway. Usually these coupons are one per item and the coupons don’t stack. It looks like some of the coupons are Safeway store coupons, so they stack with manufacturer e-coupons and they come off of multiple items. It makes for insanity. Here are the awesome deals I scored. Remember that my Safeway lets me use doubles with IPs. I am pretty sure the coupons will only come off of one transaction so use it wisely.

These were separate trips. I don’t do back to back trips. It would bring way too much attention to myself. I’m funny like that.

Transaction 1:

Buy (6) Oscar Mayer Deli Fresh Lunch Meat on sale $2.49 (Just4U Personalized Price)
Buy 6, Get $5 Catalina
Use (6) $1.11/1 Just4U digital Coupons (in the coupon center)
Use (6) $1/1 coupons
Use (3) Safeway doubles (-$1.50) (The cashier only gave me three doubles because the total got too close to zero and she got nervous, I didn’t argue, it was a sweet deal)
Pay $.78, Get $5 Catalina

Transaction 2:

Buy (4) Honey Bunches of Oats on sale $1.88
Buy (10) Oscar Mayer Hot Dogs on sale $1.99 (5 are not in the picture)
Buy 10 Kraft items, Get $10 Catalina
Buy 4 Honey Bunches, Get $3 Catalina
Use (10) $1/1 Just4U digital Coupons (in the coupon center)
Use (1) $1/2 manufacturer digital coupon
Use (1) $1/2 coupon (NLA, I wish I had printed more)
Use (2) $1/2 Honey Bunches coupons
Use (3) Safeway doubles (-$1.50)
Use $5 Catalina from Transaction 1
Pay $6.92, Get $10 Kraft Catalina (Honey Bunches Catalina didn’t print so I have to contact Catalina)

Transaction 3:

Buy (4) Capri Sun on sale $2.29
Use (4) $.50/1 Just4U digital Coupons (in the coupon center)
Use (4) $.34/1 Store coupon (I don’t know where this came from, but it shows on the receipt)
Use (4) $1/1 coupons (NLA)
Use (4) Safeway doubles (-$1.80)
FREE after coupons & doubles! (I was expecting to pay $.29 each, I don’t know where the phantom coupon came from)

Total Paid: $7.70
Still Have $10 Catalina!
$2.30 Overage! (And I still have to Contact Catalina about my Honey Bunches of Oats Catalina). This is one of those deals that makes me skip all the way to the car!

Safeway doubles most manufacturer’s coupons to to $.50 each in Oregon and SW Washington. Find more Safeway deals here.

So I don’t have to use my catalina for the same products that are listed on it??!! I accidently got an extra catalina that way but now I am so excited that I did because now I can use it for anything!

T Sharpe….my customer service person KNOWS that the Just for U deals are very problematic….I tell her what the price is off and she simply hands me cash. Can’t hurt trying before you return stuff!

Am I the only one that can’t get my digital coupons to come off EVER? I have tried going to different checkstands, different Safeways, using my mom’s account vs mine and still no luck. The coupons never come off which leaves me out of luck with this Kraft catalina as I don’t think a manager will manually give me 10 coupons worth of a product. So frustrating! Today I spent an hour shopping, trying to get this deal and I am 7 months pregnant and had my 3 young children in tow. After none of my coupons would come off and I had to put all my purchases back I have to say that these Just For U deals are just not for me. Grrrrr!

When you say 3 or 4 doubles – do you mean 3 or 4 coupons on 1 doubler? I thought you could only use 1 double per transaction.

I was just at Safeway and the cats worked great for me. I bought 10 hot dogs, 10 shredded cheese, 10 lunch meat and a few other misc. things and all the cats worked. I did do three seperate transactions. Does anyone know if you purchase everything together if it will print out 3 seperate $10 Cats?? I hate buying 10 things at one time because I look like a crazy women. Who needs 10 packs of each of those things I just bought. Really. lol Well, my freezer will be stocked, and I gave some to a co-worker who needed it. Also…I didnt clear any shelves…plenty left at the salem store. I wish everyone else luck with the Cats. I keep reading that they are not printing everywhere. I was wondering if anyone knows if I already used my Safeway ecoupons for the hotdogs and try to go back, will they work again? I know it says one-time, but I thought I would see if anyone else has tried this with success? Just curious. Dont need anymore hot dogs though. 🙂

I am not having luck with this Catalina! Three times I’ve done scenarios others have done and it either doesn’t print, or prints the wrong one! I bought 10 Kraft salad dressing and it printed out a $5 CAT, I bought 10 hot dogs and no CAT. Now, to contact the company and wait forever for them to respond. I DID however get the mystery 34cent store coupon on my two capri suns! With the coupon and ecoupon I got them for 45cents each. Yay!

To bad didn’t read this beforehand about the shredded cheese. I would have stocked up on that. Just noticed at the store that the breadcrumbs and cheese didn’t work so moved on from the cheese area. Still had a great trip that I got the eye roll from the husband when I layed everything on the counter and made my husband guess the price.

$11 for 4 lunch meats, 2 Kraft singles, 2 beef hotdogs, 3 ears of corn, 2 1/2 gallons of milk, hotdog buns, BBQ sauce and box of top ramen.

Can someone tell me what are the CAT offers
Is it 6 for $5.00 and 10 for $10.00? For Kraft items?

Its only certin items of kraft. I tried this deal at safeway yesterday, but sadly only got the 5.00 cat because I bought the wrong size or something and my HBO cat didnt print either so dont know whats wrong with that. Really getting tired of the cat company not following through with the advertised deals

It may be too late for most of you…. but if you have time tonight and have some crystal light coupons, the Kraft and Crystal Light Cat double dip! You need to buy at least 4 Crystal Light and an extra 3 CAT will print in addition to the 10 CAT if you buy an additional 6 items (can be more crystal light, or other matching Kraft products)! I did a bunch of transactions and even without a doubler I got tons of items free! I did not roll the Crystal Light CAT because I was too chicken, but every transaction I did was $1-$2 over $10 anyway… very happy 🙂 Haven’t scored like this at Safeway in LONG TIME!

I live in Central Oregon and I did a Kraft purchase last night with some of the scenarios listed above and it worked like a charm. All Just4U coupons came off, along with personalized prices and paper coupons. Paid $7.72 for 4 BOGO dressings, 2 BOGO shredded cheese, 1 lunchmeat, (already stocked up on 6 deli fresh at Walgreens last week) 3 hotdogs, and 1 singles. Received my $10 catalina. The other customers were in awe because my original shopping total was over $130 and I got it down to $51.97. The cashier made such a fuss-in a good way! I love it!!

I’m pretty sure someone has posted that the Kraft cat rolls, since it’s basically a Safeway gift card in disguise.

AWESOME! I just came back from a trip, which I sorta screwed up. My plan was to earn the $10 cat by buying 8 hot dogs and 2 lunch meats. I accidentally only bought 7 hot dogs. Doh! But, I still got a $5 cat and the J4U coupons did come off of everything, just like you listed! Very cool! Thanks for the inspiration!

I was not able to stack paper coupon and Just4U coupon a couple of weeks ago. I did the self check out and it won’t take the paper coupon. The attendant took a look and told me that it already has an electronic coupon deducted from it. But again, I am not the luckiest person when it comes to shopping at Safeway so I wouldn’t try it.

I did the lunchmeat deal this morning without any problems. Register didn’t beep and my store also doubles so I got the 6 for .28. Used the cat on some marked down steaks to make into jerkey 🙂

So you can use doubles in every transaction? I thought you could only use them once per week per household. I would love to know if I have been understanding it wrong, I could be saving so much more!

Kas, the registers don’t keep track of your doubles. You can go back another day and use another set and it won’t beep.

I was under the impression that it isn’t possible to double the Just 4 U coupons (since that is what it says at the bottom of the shopping list when I print it out).

There were some online a few weeks (or less) ago, I think at coupons.com. I know I used one at Albertson’s a few days ago with a doubler. Just looked at cpns.com site and don’t see it there now.

For the deli meat, how did you got 6 $1.11 digital coupons deducted at one time? I thought it was only deducting for 1 item. Also, it look like your store allow you to combine the $1 IP and the digital coupon? I thought you can only use one or the other?

I thought the same thing. I think the $1.11 digital coupon is a Safeway coupon and can therefore be stacked with the manufacturer coupons. It is the first time in about 2 years I’ve had a digital and a paper coupon go through beepless. Usually they have to delete the digital coupon or give me back my paper coupon.

Can I ask if your receipt show 6 of those digital coupons on it ? I thought the digital coupon was a one-time offer for 1 item ?

The J4U $1.11 is a one time manufacturer coupon.

The just for you coupons say “one time coupon” which is different than “one item, or limit one”. At this stage in the Just4you game, these one time coupons will take $1 off every item purchased in ONE transaction, be it 1 or hypothetically 100. However, the other justfor you $1/2 two items coupon will only take off one $1, because it has the limit specified on the coupon. I got 10 packages of hotdogs for $8.99 (ish) and got a $10 catalina. That is the 10 $1 just for you coupons, and the one $1/2 justforyou coupon. It works!

This is all interesting feedback. I’m pretty sure that when Angela posted the J4U rules 2-3 months ago, she specified that cents-off digitals could not be combined with a paper cpn, or doubled. And that J4U items with specific prices COULD be stacked with a mfr cpn and a doubler. I think most of us inferred, also, that the cents-off J4U digitals could be used only once, like a paper cpn.

So I am looking at the Oscar Mayer hot dog coupon on my phone and it says “one-time” I thought that meant that I can use it on one item. It appears as if it means that I can use it in one transaction, but on more than one package of Oscar Mayer hot dogs. That is so cool!

Thanks for the tip and sharing your trip, this makes it a much better deal! I just wish I hadn’t already been to Safeway today where I bought just one of the Oscar Mayer Deli Fresh meats! DOH! I have the same “Just for u” price that you have.
