Most of these deals use a Safeway double coupon, which is available at Oregon & SW Washington (Wahkiakum, Cowlitz, Clark, Skamania & Klickitat Counties) Safeways only. You can double up to 4 manufacturer’s coupons per transaction, up to $.50 each. You may not double a coupon marked with “Do Not Double” or an internet printable coupon. The double coupon is found in the weekly ad at the bottom of the middle page and look’s like this:

Was just at Safeway buying my papers and they rang up at $2.50! The cashier was nice enough to take the extra $.50 off, but was this a fluke or the new normal?
Brenda says
Where were you? I ran into that a few months ago when I was on vacation at the coast. They said that because gas prices were going up, the paper raised the price for towns that are farther away from Portland.
Howard says
My Oregonian is delivered, but it says $2 on the front page. It’s not unusual for papers to cost more in remote areas. I think the Sunday NY Times can cost $6 or so in some places out here.
Caro says
FYI – this posting did not come up when I clicked on Stores in the blue bar above.
Kate from Frugal Living NW says
Thanks for letting us know. Sometimes there are delays with internet providers. Hopefully it will all update soon.
Jennifer says
For 2 weeks now I can’t see any store specific posts by going to that store section on the website. The most recent posts there for me are from 3/7. I’ve been following your site for 3 years with no problems, so I’ve just been waiting to see if it fixes.
Kate from Frugal Living NW says
Thanks for the update. We will look into it and see what we can do. And thanks for sticking with us for 3 years 🙂
Brenda says
Not to be completely annoying, but this is happening with the Rite Aid posts as well. I have to start on the homepage and go through page to page to find the posts that I’m looking for.
Thank you for everyone’s hard work on this site, it’s such a lifesaver (and money saver!) for me!
Cheryl says
FYI- I noticed I had similar problems sometimes viewing the posts on my phone. I just thought it was a cookies or internet setting issue, since my regular computer works.
For those who have troubles, it might be good to check settings also on your end.
superjaz says
Keep an eye out for mailers. I got one from safeway that has a 10 off 50 coupon AND a 20 off $75 coupon! they are good until 4-16
Cheryl says
Wow! What area do you live in that you got this in the mail? Some times they target just certain areas. Does it list just a certain store on it?
Howard says
The remodeled Barbur Blvd store has special ads on the front page of the weekly circular most weeks, usually including a $10 off $50 cpn. They have these at Cust Service. I pulled off a big-time deal Friday there, using a combo of that cpn, some J4U personalized deals, a couple of mfr cpns,a doubler, and a small employee (daughter) discount on bread.
superjaz says
Beaverton area, no specific store listed, just in the mail box.
Samantha says
I’m just curious, where did the coupons come from that you linked for the Fresh Express Salad clam-shell deal?
Howard says
They come from tonytantillo.com and change monthly, usually. Supposedly you can also get the magazine w/ cpns at Safeway produce departments, but I’ve never seen one at any store.
Elaine says
If you do want a physical copy, ask your Safeway produce person where the magazine is located. It’s at a different place in the produce dept at each store.
Howard says
Good news: I finally discovered where my Safeway keeps the monthly produce books with the coupons. Bad news: every copy had the Fresh Express cpn torn out of it.
math nerd says
The math appears to be off on the Yoplait and Oscar Meyer as well…
Howard says
A little too much celebrating on St Pat’s Day? The math looks fuzzy on the Yoplait Greek, OM franks and the Activia.
PJ says
Brittany got 9 of them correct – 75 percent correct. Maybe she is testing OUR skills on whether we will catch it…….
Brittany from Frugal Living NW says
Oh my goodness seriously? I’ll fix it. I don’t drink so I have no legitimate excuse.
Brittany from Frugal Living NW says
It feels almost like I have been sabotaged. 🙂 I remember putting in the right prices on these, but I bet what happened is I accidentally fixed the price on the wrong deal at some point messing up two to three at the same time.
Howard says
Maybe you should start. 🙂
Adrienne says
I would think kids should count as a legitimate excuse 😉
charolyn says
Another coupon for the clamshell fresh express salad is in the produce magazines that Safeway has in their produce dept-often on the end of a fruit/vegetable display. Those coupons are always DND-but still a great deal 🙂
Shelley says
On the Dannon Activia yogurt, is the math correct? Is it on sale for $3.49?
Sorry to be a pest!
Brittany from Frugal Living NW says
Not a pest. After I messed up so much it makes it easy to question. That one is actually right. It is a 4-pack. Usually the singles are $1 so it’s a decent price if you like that product.
