I did the $5 frozen food deal last week, got the cat and directly used it to get some of the new stuff in a seperate transaction. Another $5 cat printed for that as well.

I just bought 2 Freschetta today, like the above deal. Used $1.50/2 coupon making my pizza $8.50 for two and I didn’t get a catalina. I went to customer service and they told me 1)I didn’t spend $10.00 and 2) only items with tags will trigger cat. I got home and read the ad carefully and found that it did say “any” frozen item.
Can I contact Catalina corporation? Will they honor my purchase since it’s under $10 after coupon?

I would contact CS. Manufacturer coupons have no bearing on the CAT. If you spent $10 on frozen foods, you should have gotten it. I have done this several times this week on different items. HTH

Don’t forget the FREE Cat food. Everytime Purina puts out the 2.00 coupons in the smart source you can get free cat food at safeway. This time the coupon was very specific for the dog food, but at the bottom it says or can be used for any cat food, any size, any variety. Safeway has Purina one beyond in small boxes for 2.99, so with a double its .49cents. But the purina one small blue bags are 2.49, so with the double its free. They also carry purina healthful life small bags for 2.40. Also free.

Did anyone earn and try to use the $5 off new frozen items? Is there a compiled list of which products we can buy using that $5 cataline? or is it actually valid on any frozen purchase?

I got the $5 catalina but it wouldn’t scan on subsequent transactions. Gladstone gave me the $5 off anyway but it was SO frustrating which was nice but it didn’t answer my question. I want to know if I use this on my next transaction, will another one print. I have confirmed that if they take $5 off and I pay less than $10 it still prints, but not sure how the coupon actually scanning affects it.

Haven’t done the $5. back for the frozen food deal yet. On an e-mail sent to me advertising this it says “$5. coupon to use on next visit ” – doesn’t say new. So wondering what this cat actually says on it? Don’t have last weeks add, so if new frozen foods required not easy to see what Safeway considers “new”.

When I was at safeway, they had little
blue signs that match the Catalina design, designating what is “new” and available to use with the Catalina

If you are buying the Kellog’s cereal and have gotten a few of the extra coupons in the boxes from previous purchases, you can use those too. Also, you can get a lb or so of some fruit that is on sale and use the “save $1.00 on fresh fruit” coupon. My plan is to buy 4 boxes of Raisin Bran at $1.99 = 7.96 – 2.00 (using 2 of the 1/2 from previous purchase) = 5.96 – .70 *4 (printable coupon) = $2.80.

I must be missing something – don’t see how you can use both the dollar off 2 and the 70 cent coupons. It has to be one or the other.

This is definitely a YMMV situation. I tried something similar last week, and the coupons beeped. Just be warned! Great idea, though!

Maybe it was a cashier’s fault or something because today I made a similar transaction where I used the $1.00 off a carton of eggs.

The egg or fruit coupons are going to attach to the cereal. If you try to also use a cereal coupon for every box, some of your coupons are going to beep. The computer considers this to be too many coupons for the items purchased. YMMV whether a cashier will override or not.

Nature Valley/Fiber One deal. Buy 4 at $2.99 ea, get Five bucks back to use on next visit. I have 2=$1.10/1 (internet most likely no double at my store) and 2=.50/1 (mfg will double) and depending upon double or not on internet coupons, all 4 boxes are either free or .69 each. unless i’m missing some important detail…..

Ooh, now I don’t have to drive 20 minutes to Fred Meyer for yogurt this week, I can just wait until Friday and drive 2 minutes to Safeway! 🙂 Our Safeway is super small compared to others though (no deli, no bakery, no customer service, no anything haha), so I don’t know how many flavors are available, but they do let us use doublers on internet printables, so awesome Tillamook yogurt for about $0.11 each… yes please!

I’m sure it will be, it was the same price as the regular yogurt today when I went to Safeway, so their sales prices are probably the same as well.

Random example, but when Best Foods mayo was on sale a few weeks back, it showed the regular in the ad, but the light was on sale as well. 🙂
