Kelsey emailed me this picture of the Catalina announcement that she received for the frozen food catalina. Here is what she wrote in conjunction with the picture:
I was the reader who left the comment about the catalina announcement that I had received regarding the frozen foods catalina. It appears that I may have misunderstood it. I have sent you a picture so you can see as well. While it says “participating frozen products” I had assumed this meant the normal guidelines ( no meat ) and the pictures to the right of the wording were merely suggestions. I am thinking now that it might mean that you only get the catalina if you buy $15 of the products pictured. I saw that several people had gone to the store upon the post you wrote in reference to my comment and did not receive the catalina they expected and I feel awful since I believe I misinterpreted it to begin with.
Sometimes these deals can be a bit confusing. This one didn’t turn out like we had originally thought. Thank you Kelsey for clearing it up for us. Sorry to those who bought things expecting the Catalina. There is always the option to return items and explain what happened, although I know that option can be annoying and frustrating.
Most of these deals use a Safeway double coupon, which is available at Oregon & SW Washington (Wahkiakum, Cowlitz, Clark, Skamania & Klickitat Counties) Safeways only. You can double up to 4 manufacturer’s coupons per transaction, up to $.50 each. You may not double a coupon marked with “Do Not Double” or an internet printable coupon. The double coupon is found in the weekly ad at the bottom of the middle page and look’s like this:
