This go around was a bit more difficult to do as I am running out of high dollar coupons. Luckily, this weeks Sunday paper had a couple good coupons and I also ordered some coupons so I should be able to come up with some sweet scenarios yet again.
Here’s my Round 3 trip:
Electrasol Finish Detergent $3.99
All Laundrey Detergent $4.49
Capri Sun $1.99
Green Giant Valley Fresh Corn $2.50
McCormick Oregano $3.11
(2) Smart Balance Oil $3.00 each
Quaker Rice Cakes $2.29
Dreamfield Pasta $2.00
(3) Del Monte SuperFruit $1.50 each
– $.50 CapriSun Safeway Supercoupon (found at advertising stand)
– $1 CapriSun
– $1 Quaker Rice
– $1 McCormick Spice
– (2) $1 Smart Balance Oil
– $1 Dreamfield Pasta IP
– $1 All IP
– $2.50 Finish Detergent
– $.60 Green Giant Steamers IP
– (3) $.75 Del Monte SuperFruit (requested coupons from manufacturer by email)
– $.03 bag credit
-$2 Safeway doubles
– $10 Safeway Living Well Gift Card
Total OOP: $5.99 and received a $10 Safeway Gift Card
I am really thankful my first LW deal went so easily since my last two have not gone so smoothly. This last trip I made sure my total was above $30 even after store coupons and it still didn’t print my catalina, and this was at the same store that I did the first deal where I was able to be under $30 after the store coupons. Go figure. They quickly gave me a gift card, though, so it wasn’t a big deal. I asked if there was a trick to getting the catalina to print and the customer service person said, “No, sometimes the computers just don’t recognize a product as being part of the promotion.” So basicly, you need to either only get products that have the Living Well tag under them so you can prove they are part of the deal, or print off Bob, from Slickdeals, 48 page list detailing every single item on the promotion. Has anyone else heard other reasons for the catalinas not printing?
While I was there I also bought some things that were not a part of the deal, but ones I really needed. Like fresh produce.
– (4) $.50 Angel Soft
– $2 Safeway Double
Total OOP: $5.86
I just realized they overcharged me on the Angel Soft. It was advertised on the display that they were $1.00 but I was charged $1.25 each. So I paid $.25 for each pack, which is still a great deal for TP, but it wasn’t free like I was thinking. Oh well, I’ll get over it.
We’re sure you all are coming up with some great scenarios for this promotion and would love to see them! One of our readers suggested having a Mr. Linky so you all could share your deals here as well and we really like that idea. Be watching for one soon, (as in, we just need to figure it out, or rather, Angela does, as she can figure things out much quicker than I can:))
