I headed to Safeway this afternoon with three tired kids. I promised them free Safeway bakery cookies if they stayed awake and behaved. No one fell asleep. As to the behavior part, I apologize to all shoppers at my local store for the three children screaming up and down the aisles. At least they were screaming with delight most of the time…
Nature Valley Nut Clusters are included in the “Buy 4, Save $4 Instantly” promotion that started today. Here’s my transaction:
Bought 1 Cocoa Puffs & 3 NV Nut Clusters = $10
Used $1/1 Cocoa Puffs IP coupon (-$1)
Used (3) $1/1 Nut Clusters IP coupons (-$3)
Used (2) $.75/1 eCoupons (Cellfire & Shortcuts) for the Cocoa Puffs (-$1.50)
Used $1/1 eCoupon for Nut Clusters (-$1)
Used (2) $.40/1 eCoupons (Cellfire & Shortcuts) for Nut Clusters (-$.80) — apparently, the register is recognizing the Nature Valley Granola Bar eCoupons I loaded for the Nut Clusters. Looks like a double eCoupon dip opportunity!
Received $4 promotion savings (-$4)
FREE with $1.30 overage after coupons, eCoupons & promo savings
I also purchased bananas & grapes in the transaction to use up the overage. Find the printable coupon links in this week’s Safeway deal post.
Here’s the funky thing: the Capri Sun catalina did not print. I’m not sure if it’s because the Nut Clusters are not apart of the cat deal, though they are apart of the $4 promotion. It could also be that the cats are not printing for any deal at my store. I did not have the time to try a deal that included items pictured in the ad. Luckily, the cashier just gave me a free box of Capri Sun since the cat didn’t print.
One more thing that we need to investigate: Shortcuts has a $.55/1 Capri Sun eCoupon. I’m thinking that if you load the eCoupon, when you redeem the Capri Sun catalina an additional $.55 will be deducted from the transaction, giving you $.55 overage. If you try this, I suggest you purchase a bit of produce to absorb the extra $.55. Leave a comment if this one works for you!
And a big shout-out to DeAnn, who I met for the second time today! I’m so glad you left the store before my kids went absolutely crazy…
