Safeway: My eCoupon stacking shopping trip

Many people are reporting that cellfire won’t let them load coupons to Safeway anymore.  So I logged in this morning to both cellfire and shortcuts and found all my coupons in tact.  I also noticed that I had 6 pillsbury cookie eCoupons between the two.  There is a sale and a catalina for these so I headed to the store to do a little eCoupon research.  I don’t know what I am doing right to get my eCoupons to stack, but I am going to keep holding my breath and stack them until the bitter end.  Likewise, I will continue to post eCoupon match-ups until they don’t work for me anymore.

I just got an email from Cellfire today saying Safeway is no longer accepting them. Bummer.

Remembered too-I read about then that Safeway wasn’t going to accept cellfire, shortcuts, or PG&E ecoupons. I signed up for the new SAfeway esystem, & loaded some coupons (looks like it may include the ones the 3 were having before, plus SAfeway brands) but haven’t used it yet.

All was still working for me (Hillsboro) until about 2 weeks ago-then their register system wouldn’t accept a paper coupon with the ecoupon-also I noticed that only one ecoupon came off (think I had some on shortcuts & cellfire-3 or 4 total for the cookie mixes). I had heard rumors this was coming so I just had him take it off and I haven’t tried anything since. Generally if I can’t use paper & ecoupons, it probably wouldn’t be a deal I’m doing anyway.

For a few weeks now I’ve noticed my Shortcuts coupons still coming off but not my Cellfire. (I live in Salem, OR) They must have started early with us.:(

Bummer! I left my Safeway card by accident at the deli counter and now it is lost….I had a ton of Pillsbury on there too. 🙁 I was hoping to get a new card and reload it. Someone registered my phone number on their club card and so I no longer have that option to punch in my phone number rather than swiping my card. I found that out when I punched in my number and the receipt came back with someone else’s name and no ecoupons used.

I can’t load new ones and all my old ones are gone, and I got no email. Just discovered it as I was planning my shopping trips for tomorrow. Came over here to see if I could get an answer, low and behold, a discussion!

I didnt get the email yet but just went to cellfire and safeway is no longer an option to save to. :-/ All my previously saved cpns are still there luckily. Guess I better use them before they disappear.

I wonder if it has to do with what city or region you live in…if your area is ready for the switch to the JustForU program to start then you are probably not able to use the e-cpns.

We were invited to test the first incarnation of the JustForU program back in 2009 and it sadly wasn’t that good. Hopefully the new one will be better.

I got an email today from Cellfire that said as of today 11.4.10 Safeway is no longer participating in the cellfire program. Any ecoupons stored currently will be honored but you will not be able to load any future coupons for Safeway…..kinda makes sense with all the rules Safeway recently changed.
