Albertsons Deals for February 24-March 2

by Angela on February 24, 2010

I’ve been dragging my feet with the Albertsons ad because of that pesky little line at the bottom of the back page. Albertsons is running a General Mills catalina promotion this week: Buy $20 worth of participating products, Get $7 catalina. The fine print reads “Minimum purchase requirement is calculated after manufacturer and store coupons” and “Limit 1 offer per customer.” Interesting. I don’t think the deal is worth it if you need to spend $20 after the cashier scans your manufacturer’s coupons and you can only do the deal once.

Good news though. Fabulessly Frugal is reporting that managers in the Boise area claim that the catalina will print when you spend $20 before manufacturer’s coupons. Of course if your catalina doesn’t print, you have no recourse as the fine print is clear.

Fabulessly Frugal is also reporting that we will receive double coupons on Sunday. I will start working on coupon match-ups soon, though I suggest you wait to shop until Sunday.

Stay tuned for deals…

Boooo! I certainly hope this isn’t the way it’s going to be from now on.

I went to Albertson’s in Hillsboro on Baseline and spent $13.50 after manufacturer coupons and received the $7 catalina. I can’t say yet if it rolls.

I got the $75 deal at the US Bank/Albertsons in McMinnville – and it was great! The banker was very helpful and I was thrilled to get almost $100 worth of groceries for free – after coupons, Cat, and bank reimbursement. We are grateful!!

Yeah, I saw that line too at the bottom of the page and was very disappointed with that stipulation. I am going to try it anyway and see what happens.

I was able to get this cat yesterday with coupons with no problems.

Glad to know it works. I was pretty annoyed when I read that line in the ad! I’ll have to give it a try.

I rolled my $7 cat from yesterday and used manufacturer coupons and I still received another $7! So it seems to work they way they always have even though the fine print said it would not.

Maybe they were hoping it would deter people like us! :) Ha! No such luck, Albertsons!
