I went to Sunnyside Albs yesterday morning at 6am and got my 5 cool whips. Who has freezer space to store more than 5 anyway? LOL! :) THEN this morning I went back hoping to find a stock of the cheese and YES, they were fully stocked, yay! I got 10, that should last me for the rest of the year, if it doesn’t, my family is eating way too much cheese. The coupon did NOT beep and the cat rolled beautifully. I started with my cool whip cat from yesterday and rolled it through the cheese transactions and came out on the other end with my $5 cat back. Thank you Albertsons!!!

I am SOOOO happy! I went to Albertsons last night at about 8:00 and it was like NO ONE had been there! I had caught wind of these deals from The Krazy Coupon Lady and Fabulessly Frugal EARLY yesterday so I was happy to find Fully stocked Hot Dogs, Cool Whip, and everything else that is HOT this week! I bought $314.73 worth of Groceries and spent $32.29 . The store was slow which was odd for that time of day but one of my fave gals opened her lane and we did 13 transactions with 97 items. I had talked to the Manager in charge when I entered the store and she said “that is fine, we are used to it” they were great and I really felt successful!
have a super day!

Wow Kari,

I’m impressed! I can’t get near that organized or have that much patience. I go into a store with 4 or 5 coupons and the cashier is cranky with me and people behind are snorting and pissy. I bow to your coupon skills!

Kari September 2, 2010 at 8:38 am

This was my FIRST TIME EVER to do so well. I had all day yesterday to think and plan how I would do it and I actually made a list to do which transactions together. I have a 1o year old and a 1 year old and I babysit a 3 year old so while they were entertained I was planning!
I do love the night crew at my store and sometimes I go at 10 pm just because I know I will be alone (no kids) and the store will be calm so I can do better. However, this means that by the time I get there the shelves are usually cleared on double days or good Cat days.
thanks for the kind thoughts tho!
Kari

What store do you shop at?

I had a conversation with the manager about the Kraft coupon. What saved me was there was a peelie on some of the cheese advertising “go to Kraft.com for a $5 off coupon!”. But I was happy to get my free cheese!

I got 30 8oz. bricks of cheese and 5 packages of hotdogs free yesterday! I was afraid that the cheese would be wiped out by the time I got there (4pm) but it looked like no one had touched the area. I was worried the coupon wasn’t working or something. Mine beeped just like everyone elses’, but the cashier just got a key and pushed it through. I read on another site that getting free cheese (and dairy) may be illegal because of federal law …. but I’ve never heard of such a thing. Anyone else know???

And just to caution others–the $1/2 hotdog coupon on coupons.com is for the Selects type–the nitrate/nitrite free kind. This was the least stocked type at my Albies, plus I’ve never had them so I was a tad hesitant about getting them. But hey, they were free!!!

Oh, I was at the Keizer, OR Albies. And FYI–my cashier was NOT cheerful about me rolling that cheese cat! She acted like I was stealin’ her cheese :p

Kelly September 2, 2010 at 10:36 am

Hee hee…stealin’ her cheese…. :)

Stealin’ her cheese? Thanks for making me laugh.

I went to the Keizer albies too, and the lady was SO rude! I hate doing coupons there. Later that night, I ended up going up to Wilsonville (I live right between the two–in Woodburn) and had AWESOME customer service from the checker and the manager. They will definitely be getting more of my business!

If you guys don’t mind a little bit of a drive the Albertsons in McMinnville is very coupon friendly. I love them and have never been treated poor. They only ask that if you are doing multiple trans you be aware of other customers, easy enough, I go during not so busy times.

If you can you should always buy nitrate free meats, healthier for you and your kids. :)

I was successful at my Albies! They had a bunch of the hot dogs that will expire on the 11th marked down to 99 cents! With my coupons it ended up being 2.95 for 5 packs! I got 20 hot dogs, 15 cheeses, and 5 cool whips. Plus I did the buy 10 get 10 back deal, including fruit snacks, wich allowed me to get free bread, paid around $13, then rolled that cat into 10 gatorades and 10 propel waters! Very successfull trip!

Everytime I try and click the “coupon” button in Krafts website it tells me that the page is no longer available…anyone else having this problem or is it just my silly computer??

charolyn September 2, 2010 at 6:29 pm

I just did it and it worked fine for me.

This deal has come at the perfect time! I am in a dog training class with my lab mix and we’re supposed to substitute some healthier treats for his dog food and hot dogs + cheese (think 1/4 inch cubes of both) are on the menu! My dog can eat a whole package of hot dogs in one walk/training session.

BTW the Albany SCO cashiers were super nice, and a cashier in Corvallis let me do 5 transactions (I asked ahead of time) but she wasn’t in the least bit nice, or rude just a silent, “I hate your coupons” stare. Both stores had a ton of the fall coupon booklets near the entrance.

just wanted to let you know, that you should double check with a trusted vet on the cheese. we raised dogs growing up, and i have also read in books that cheese dulls a dog senses and isn’t good for them. On another note, cheese is extremely fattening. I recommend some grain free dog food as a health, high protein, low fat treat

I bought a bunch of the .79 Ball Park franks that they had in their ad (coupon). I volunteer at the humane society, so am always watching for good deals on hot dogs. However, I can make a hot dog last for several hours of training. I don’t want the dog to get full, so just give teeny little nibbles. I also did the Kraft cheese deal, so now have 10 packages of cheese. They had to call over a manager to override the coupon because of the high value, but it was not a problem. I haven’t shopped Albertson’s in YEARS, but….gee….have $10 in cats now, so will have to go back. 122nd and Division was great about the coupons.

Nevermind…got it…thanks!

The cheese deal worked great, but the Hot Dog coupons are only for the new “select” variety, and those aren’t on sale at my Albies. They are $4.99…oh well!

Will this still work on Sunday? monday? I don’t have an albertsons in town and sunday or monday is the first day I will be able to drive to one, but free cheese

Reply

Susan September 2, 2010 at 5:31 pm

I just went to Albertson and got more hot dogs, the kraft cheese and also the cool whip. I did all in one transaction and then only one catalina for $5 printed. We had to re-ring the cool whip in a separate transaction in order for it to print another $5 catalina, guess I am too new at this to know that one – but now I do! So I got 5 pkgs Kraft cheese, 5 pkgs hot dogs & 5 cool whip for $9.29 (I used a previous Catalina with the other coupons) but received 2/$5 catalinas for next time – so all for FREE really!

charolyn September 2, 2010 at 6:42 pm

Generally they should both print out. Great job on your shopping!

Reply

Meghan September 3, 2010 at 12:30 am

The wording on this promotion is “BUY 5 or more participating KRAFT products GET $5 off your next shopping trip.” You will only get one catalina per transaction as long as you buy the minimum. If the “or more” was taken out, then you would have what happened during the last Kraft cheese sale at QFC–a $5 cat for every 5 items you bought!

does anyone know if those oscar meyer coupons work with the hot dogs that are on sale for $1.50, they say they are for the select hot dogs but the ones on sale are the regular ones.

Just did this for the cool whip and shredded cheese without a hitch at Alby’s in Lynnwood, WA. Thanks!

Reply

Kimberly September 3, 2010 at 4:10 pm

I had a hitch at the 181st and Glisan location; I purchased hot dogs, cool whip, and cheese, and only one cat printed. Apparently lanes 3 and 4 aren’t handling the cats correctly, so avoid those lanes if you go there. Customer service also said the $5/5 coupon on the cheese was causing cats not to print. But customer service was being very nice and compensated me generously for the issue.

TJ September 3, 2010 at 9:03 pm

The info about the $5/5 causing the cat not to print is false. I was at Cully & Prescott Albertsons this morning and the SCO attendent had to manually enter the $5 coupon in. Still got my $5 cat just fine and I did two transactions back to back.

Reply

heather September 4, 2010 at 2:48 pm

you have to do them in separate transactions per the wording of this cat…next time jsut break it up and it should work fine

Reply

Shira W. September 3, 2010 at 9:53 pm

Yeah the $5/5 Kraft gave me the same error, had to enter it manually.

Also the Tide Stain Release is on sale at my Albie’s for $2.99 for the 50oz powder and the $3/1 in the P&G last sunday made it free. They were all confused what to do cause of the penny difference and tried not to take it and then they just overrode it for 2.99. Whatever! As long as it was free. But now I have to read the coupon policies for the stores I shop so that I’m well versed.

Just went through and did this all again for the second time. Hot Dogs had pork in them so I skipped – so sad!

Now – what to do with 5 containers of cool whip…….

So excited!!!!!!! I went after school on Thurs and there was lots of everything. Anyone who doesn’t know what to do with their Cool Whip can pass them to me. I have “ice cream parties” with my students throughout the year and could use them! Especially since I was just told we get ZERO classroom budget thanks to educational cuts this year.

I went to Albertsons on Baseline and Cornelieus Pass Rd to get the 10 Gatorade for $10, get 10 Propel water free deal. There were peelies on the Gatorade for $1 off 3 plus a $2 catalina that I got previously to use when buying 9 Propel water. Sooooo, I got 10 Gatorade, 10 Propel water for $5, then used my $5 Catalina from the Kraft cheese promo and only pd 50 cents for the bottle deposits!

just went to albertsons in Lakewood WA….and purchased 10 packages of shredded, 5 bricks, and 5 cream cheese tubs. I did the cream cheese last rightly guessing that it wouldn’t print the cat…but OOP for these 20 items was 8.83…

also got the gatorade propel deal…paid 19.00 for 20 gatorades and 20 propels…awesome price and a teenage athlete who uses both

Last night the checker in Sherwood wanted to know where I had gotten the $5 coupon so the five Kraft cheeses would be free. She was quite interested as I explained the internet couponing websites to her. What a hoot. I told her I had three more and she seemed upset, not angry she did not have them. Jay

BTW: If a cat does not print, do call their 800 number. Last week I did not get a $5 cat so I called. Gave them all the info from the reciept and the cat will be mailed. The agent I talked to said, ” I can see the printer was not functioning.” Wow. What info they know and gather about consumers.
