Albertsons Double Coupon Deals for February 2-8

by Kate on February 2, 2011

Doubles are here! Three this week! These coupons (technically “Twice the Value” coupons) will double the value of up to three manufacturer’s coupons, up to $1 each. You’re out of luck if the coupon is valued at $1.01+. They are valid Sunday – Friday (2/2-2/8) — SEVEN days and are in the weekly ad that was released Tuesday (Portland Metro newspapers) or Wednesday (Washington newspapers). You should be able to get additional ads at your store’s customer service counter.

Thanks to Coupon Connections NW, Happy Money Saver, and Queen Bee Coupons for compiling most of these deals.

The Orville Popcorn is ringing up 3.29 with the second one free. Do you suppose if we showed them an ad they would honor the price shown there?

Reply

Lily February 2, 2011 at 3:25 pm

Yes show them the ad. I had trouble today because my Hefty plates rang up regular price. Apparently they dont carry the sale item. So I showed her he ad, and she quickly called the manager, and since it was a national ad, they changed the price for me.:) YAAAY!
Should do the same for this.

Reply

Meghan February 2, 2011 at 5:16 pm

My store had signs on the shelf saying the ad was a misprint and that $3.29 was the correct price!

This post is why I love FrugalLivingNW. I had gotten my Albertson’s ad yesterday, with the doublers. I was excited about the doublers. However, after searching the ad, I couldn’t find anything that would be free or any products that I really like that would be a great price using a doubler.

So I was waiting (hoping) that you would do one of your awesome Albertson posts. And, sure enough, you came up with things that are useful and free :)

Great work Kate!

My store wouldn’t let me use a MC on the Orville Redenbacher popcorn deal because the “Get 2 pops free” deal is already a MC that they have at the check stand. They said the deals advertised in the paper as “Buy xxx, get xxx free” aren’t normally like that (with the MC coupon at the check stand) but in this case you are using a MC on the original box of popcorn to get all the free stuff. My store had B1G1 box for $3.19 (in Yakima) and the MC at the check stand took $2.50 off for the 2 – 2-litres. $3.19 for 4 items that would have been $8.88…not bad. My store at 16th & Lincoln is always super-accommodating and goes out of their way to make the deals work, so I know they would have done it if they could!

Tracy February 3, 2011 at 8:14 pm

My store didn’t have a problem with the popcorn coupon. I couldn’t find the soda coupon anywhere so asked a cashier and he said he thought it came off automatically and checked with someone at customer service who said it did come off automatically. Of course, the soda did not come off automatically but the cashier took off the price of the soda so all was good!

Reply

Amy February 2, 2011 at 3:03 pm

My two local albertsons allowed the extra coupon in addition to the free soda coupons because the in store one is applied to the soda, and the manufacturers coupon can be applied to the popcorn. But last year when they had this deal they would not allow it. I would guess it will depend on the store and the checker. Its still a great deal if you ask me!

I’m new to this! Just curious as to what the SS and RP inserts are and where you can get them? Thanks :)

Reply

Cathy February 2, 2011 at 5:22 pm

Julie~ SS is Smart Source and RP is Red Plum. They are the names of the coupon circulars that come in the Sunday Paper. The title is on the outside “cover” of each “booklet”. Others you will come across are are PG (Proctor & Gamble) GM (General Mills). Hope this helps :-)

Sunnyside Albertsons did not have Quaker Oatmeal Square Cereal for $2.50/box ($5.39 regular price – ouch!) Hoping I will have better luck at Safeway this week!

I was told that Albertson’s no longer takes competitor store coupons. Is that not correct?

Reply

Kris February 2, 2011 at 9:43 pm

Yes, it’s true. It’s been over a year or so since they stopped taking other store’s coupons. Sad!

Reply

Jessica February 3, 2011 at 11:10 pm

dont be confused though Courtney. if you’re referring to the comment above yours about the Safeway Football book, the coupon is actually a manufacturer coupon that any store can accept. And, once you cut it out, they wouldn’t even know where it came from so they wouldn’t think twice about it.

Rachel R. February 2, 2011 at 7:45 pm

In the Philadelphia Cream Cheese example, I don’t see a $1/2 coupon in the Safeway Football coupon booklet. There is a $1/2 Kraft shredded cheese coupon, will that work?

Reply

LaDessa February 2, 2011 at 7:55 pm

Its in the “Game Day Playbook” with Guy Fieri on the front.

Reply

SarahL February 2, 2011 at 7:58 pm

Oh… where do you find that booklet??

Reply

LaDessa February 2, 2011 at 8:17 pm

I have seen them at a couple of different Fred Meyers. They are on a big Nabisco display. Good Luck!

Oh good, I thought it was just me, I’ve been SEARCHING for that coupon, thinking its gotta be in here right??? haha :) All I saw was the kraft shredded cheese coupon and I’m pretty sure it won’t work. since it specifically states shredded cheese… bummer huh?

Just went shopping tonight. Had trouble with the Orville Redenbacher deal, couldn’t locate the in-store coupon. I had a great checker who helped me look for it and in the end another checker handed her 2 of the coupons she had. This is what I purchased:
2 Kraft Mayo, 2 Kraft Dressings, 1 Wholly Gaucomole, 4 Boxes of Orville Redenbacher, 2 2litre 7up, 2 2litre A&W………my total was $10.50 with a savings of 73 % .

Thank you for taking the time to lists these deals, it really helps those of us who are not as coupon savvy find some INCREDIBLE deals.

I got 6 of the trial size Huggies wipes for .39 cents a piece! They were $1.39, I had 2 $2.00 off (any) 3 Huggies wipes cpns, then the Albertson’s double and they were only 39cents each! Yay!

They let you double a $2 coupon? What Albertson’s is this???

Reply

McMinnville Albertsons lets you do that…

Tiffany February 2, 2011 at 8:45 pm

So you say “double the value of up to four manufacturer’s coupons” and there are 3 Twice the Value coupons – so does that mean you can double up to 12 manufacturer coupons then?

Reply

Kate February 2, 2011 at 10:55 pm

sorry, that was a misprint. They will double 3 manufactuer’s coupons in a transaction.

Reply

Suzanne February 2, 2011 at 8:51 pm

Well I’ve got to hope that the stores have plenty of the flyers because none of the papers today had an Albies ad in them… Checked the Columbian and the Oregonian…. neither had it :( boo

Albertsons and Safeway ads that started today (2/2) were in Tuesday’s paper. I found a bunch of ads at the customer service at the Sunnyside Albertsons with the “Twice the Value” coupons. HTH

THe oatmeal squares were not marked on sale at my store. Has anyone found them for $2.50? I did find $1 coupons on Lays Chips and Rold Gold Prezels. Made them around $1/bag when doubled. I also found the Carving Board meat at $1.99 since it was close to pull date making some free meat for sandwiches today!

The oatmeal squares are *not* on sale, but the oat squares are. The coupons are for the oatmeal squares, so that deal isn’t valid. Just an FYI. :)

Thanks for this list! Got some tube steaks and guac this morning.

Kelly February 3, 2011 at 1:14 pm

My wife just got done shopping at Albertson’s. She got out the door with 4 bottles of Soy Sauce, 2 Bar S hot dogs, 6 Wholly Guacamoles, and 2 packs of Hefty Plates. The best part was the cashier actually opened the register and paid her 58 cents.

Reply

Michelle February 3, 2011 at 1:31 pm

I like this…but Don’t know how the guacamole worked with it being expired. :(

Reply

Bethany February 3, 2011 at 1:54 pm

Michelle – Yikes!! I didn’t even check the expiration dates, assuming it was fine if it was listed here, and evidently the checker didn’t look either. I got two free guacs because of expired coupons. I’ll return them tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up on that!

Reply

Bethany February 3, 2011 at 2:00 pm

It gets worse! The coupon specifically says “do not double or triple”. I feel like a heel. The one redeeming thing is that the checker didn’t notice either. At least I’m not the only clueless one. :(

Reply

Stephanie February 3, 2011 at 3:17 pm

Bethany,
Albertsons has “twice the value” coupons so they will double coupons up to $1 even if they say “Do not double.”

Michelle February 3, 2011 at 3:52 pm

Wow…I love how honest you are! I was able to print a couple coupons for the guacamole online for $1.50 off…so you could still use those. They do double anything, so that is legit.

Bethany February 3, 2011 at 7:37 pm

Ok, I just got back from returning them … but they wouldn’t take them back. I was embarrassed and they were very gracious about it. You can bet I’ll be quadruple checking expiration dates for a while. :)

Kate February 3, 2011 at 6:03 pm

Bethany – the coupon, if expired, should always beep. It’s usually built into the code of the coupon, so that is odd. However, sorry for your experience, but way to go on your deal for the other things.

Reply

Jennifer February 8, 2011 at 6:08 pm

Most manufacturers give the stores a grace period on expired coupons. So they’ll still get paid for the coupons. It should have beeped though.

Michelle February 3, 2011 at 3:53 pm

if you go to Bar S Foods on Facebook, you can print a $1 off one coupon on any Bar S product. Also making the franks free.

My Alberstons trip yesterday TOTALLY made up for my Target experience earlier in the week, it was awesome! The checker was super helpful and I ended up getting 4 popcorns, 4 2liters of pop, 4 packages of hot dogs, 1 package of buns, 1 athenos hummus, 3 boxes of rotoni garden delight pasta, 2 mayo’s (the olive oil kind was included!), 2 oscar meyer carving board lunch meats and 1 4-pack of activia yogurt all for $10.69, it was $56 in savings and $28 of that was in coupons!! I did 3 transactions at one store just split up (I asked at the customer service desk when I first got there how many I could do with the doubles in one trip) and then went to another store for a 4th transaction.

Reply

Jamie February 3, 2011 at 7:48 pm

Vancouver residents. . . heads up, went to 4th plain albies today, they are going to start limiting the number of doubles they give out/let you use to 3. She said that some people are not getting the ad at all because they are getting used so fast.

Reply

Jennifer February 6, 2011 at 8:40 am

I went to the 4th plain albies later last night, and they were out of ads. BUT, because they were out of ads they had 3 doubles at each register and would scan them for you over and over if you did separate transactions!

Tiffany Kerns February 3, 2011 at 8:16 pm

Tonight my albertsons had an end cap full of Mrs. Smiths pies for $2 plus they had $1/1 peelies on the, Making the pumpkin and apple pies free. can’t beat free pumpkin pie with my kiddos. Also got taco bell refried beans for .25/can be on the lookout for the red coupon books. They have a $1/2 frozen albertsons vegetable coupon in them. That made the one pound bags .50 each.

Two of the three Albertson’s I visited today in Hillsboro had some of their Morningstar Farms products on clearance. If you have any coupons on hand, these are cheap to free with doubles.

Kala February 5, 2011 at 4:25 pm

So the 16h and Lincoln store in Yakima,WA let me use the $1/2 man coupon on the popcorn display and I had one of the checker go out of his way to tell me of the promo and that I could use the popcorn coupon plus get the free pops and popcorn, plus I used a double so I got 2 popcorns and 2 pops for 1.19.They were super nice and the guy was very gracious to inform me of the deal. Not too shabby.
Also at my Alb’s there was a tearpad that had 5 different coupons, one of which was a Philly cream cheese $1/2 so I doubled that baby and got ea for .50. Needless to say, I’m goin back and doin as many popcorn deals as I can, why not man, that’s just too much fun!

yvonne February 5, 2011 at 7:52 pm

The cashier won’t let me use the McCormick coupon for the $.79 spice packs. She didn’t even try scanning them, just took a look and said they were the wrong items. Anyone tried this? Did your coupon beep? I am thinking of trying it again at another Albies.

Reply

Kelly February 5, 2011 at 9:27 pm

There was a printable $2.50 off 1 Jose Ole coupon last week, if your Albertson’s is will double it (-$1) then you should be able to get those for $.50

Marissa February 7, 2011 at 8:52 am

Are your local Albies keeping coupons at the register?

I stopped by to look for the Tostitos coupon on the display and my Albertsons has a printed flyer saying $3 but $2 with coupon at register? I imagine they’re doing this because with that coupon I could have gone to safeway and doubled my coupon and gotten Tostitos for free…. I noticed at the register they had ALL of the display coupons there…

Is anyone else’s Albertsons doing the same?

Why did I not fine the Hefty Zip Bags for $2 anywhere? In the ad I only saw plates and bowls. I really need bags but I think they were at least 2.99 at my store in Battle Ground. Can anyone fill me in on this one? Thanks!

Reply

Crystal February 7, 2011 at 9:21 pm

Hi Janna,
on the first day of the sale, they had tags stating 2/$4 for the hefty bags, so I bought some at 2 different stores. When I went back that next afternoon all the tags were gone & they were were ringing up at full price. It was the same thing on the chex mix, the different varieties were 2/$4 & the chocolate was 2/$5, then on the second day, all the tags were gone, except for the 2/$5 ones & again the were ring up at full price too! It was weired. Not sure why the price change right after the sale started, but I did check at 2 different stores in beaverton, on the second day…

Emily February 7, 2011 at 10:20 pm

Anyone else have trouble with the wholly guacamole? My albies wouldn’t double it, said they got a “big paper” on it from corporate two weeks ago and they couldn’t double it. I might try another store tomorrow…just checking to see if anyone else had an issue!
