Some of you are having problems with the Huggies deal at Fred Meyer. I think I need to clarify some elements of this deal. I’m going to spell it out:
{Buy $15 worth of participating Huggies products, Get $3 Catalina}
This deal is advertised on page 12 of Fred Meyer’s Extra Savings Booklet. You can find it at the end of each checkstand or at the customer service desk.
Huggies Diapers (Jumbo packs) are tagged at $8.99
Use the store coupon found in the supplemental baby ad in the weekly ad that was released on Sunday to get $1 off each pack of diapers. There should be additional store coupons in the store. Just ask.
Here’s the deal:
Buy 2 jumbo packs of Huggies with the weekly ad coupon = $15.98
Use (2) $3/1 coupons
Pay $9.98, Get $3 Catalina
This cat will roll to a second transaction:
Buy 2 diapers with the weekly ad coupon = $15.98
Use (2) $3/1 coupons
Use cat from transaction #1 (-$3)
Pay $6.98, Get $3 Catalina
IMPORTANT: As always, if you are expecting a catalina to print, check the catalina machine BEFORE you start checking out. Make sure you see a small green light. That means the machine is working properly. If you see a red light instead, STOP THE CASHIER and politely ask them to fix the machine. Either it’s out of paper or the paper is jammed and your cat will not print. If the cashier cannot fix the machine, move to another register to complete your transaction.
It looks like the Little Snugglers or Little Movers variety are not triggering the catalina. They are participating products; the machine is just not working properly.
Since the catalina promotion is advertised in the store (in the Extra Savings Booklet) you can go to customer service and have them deal with the problem. Just take the Extra Savings Booklet, along with your receipt, to the customer service desk and ask them to fix the situation. They should either give you $3 cash or a $3 store gift card/credit.You must do this immediately after your cat doesn’t print. Otherwise how will you prove that it didn’t print?
If your cat did not print and you did not have CS take care of it immediately, you will need to call the Catalina company and have them send you your cat in the mail. Call 888-CATALINA. Make sure you have your receipt with you.
And, just to clear up any questions, the use of coupons or your Rewards Card does not affect the catalina printing. You can do this transaction as many times as you want and use manufacturer’s coupons.

The catalina was printing for the Little Movers type at Gresham Fred Meyer on Burnside today. I was able to roll it a few times.
The Huggies wipes (72ct tub) were also on sale for $1.99. Buy 2 and use the $2 off 2 coupon and that is a decent price for wipes.

I went to customer service today when my catalinas didn’t print & I was told by them that they have been having this happen a lot & were told not to do anything for the customers on this until they hear back from the catalina company. She said to hold onto my receipt and hopefully by the end of the week there will be a solution worked out between catalina & FM.
I tried it today and after talking to customer service, this is what I was told. Since the mf coupon brings the price down, the cat wont print. It has to be $15 after coupons. boo hoo
Selena- they tried to tell me that, but I’d bought the Little Movers and had used coupons, and it had worked. I showed them my receipt from the Little Movers transaction, and then their manager took me to another register and did the 4 transactions over I hadn’t received catalinas from- she re-rang them without the coupons I’d used. Sometimes the catalina printed, other times it didn’t, so she saw how finicky it was. At least I got my catalinas. This was at the Tualatin store. The whole not using a coupon thing isn’t true since it works on the Little Movers.

Snug and dry work AWESOME…concerning the little movers: the customer service also told me that by using my coupons…I brought it down to 10 dollars and so they wouldn’t honor the fred meyer book…which really does makes since. I am thankful I had 8 snug and dry coupons…THANKS MOM AND DAD AND INLAWS:)
GET THIS THOUGH…i brought back all of my little movers…4 packages…I thought I would get 20 dollars back since they were 5 dollars each after my coupons(and not cat printed) and the customer service lady gave me 31.96 cash. I gasped and said…I only should get 20(I would have felt GUILTY) I said the other 12 was from Man. coupons and she replied…don’t worry about it…the computer told me to give you this. SO I was like…OK. I ran back and grabbed 10 huggies wipes and used 5 2$ off coupons on 2 and got 10 wipes for FREE…plus I had money to take my kids to the MC Playplace for lunch. THis really worked out good for me. Thanks ladies(way better then waiting for my cat) I then went through and used my last 4 snug and dry coupons and got my four packages of diapers! My cats. printed both times. It was a happy day for me after being so frustarted with my 7am Sunday morning run:)
I ended up with 10 wet wipes and 10 packages of snug and dry diapers for super cheap!!!!!!!!! YEA!!!!!!

I went to FM today and did three transactions. Two transactions had two Little Snugglers and one had two Snug and Dry’s. The two transactions with the LS’s didn’t print a cat and the one with the Snug and Dry did.
I went to the CS desk to show them and they said it was because I used coupons. I told them that I didn’t think that could be the case because the one tranaction produced a cat. The manager showed me an email from corporate addressing this problem and it said in bold letters “the $15 must be after discounts and coupons”, they then told me that my cat printed by mistake and gave it to me like they were doing me some kind of favor.
So now I need to call the cat company and deal with them – has anyone done that? I was trying not to go to Fred Meyer because mine is not coupon friendly. Maybe I will just take the diapers back. Fred Meyer irritates me.

I probably will take them back simply because I’m annoyed and FM irritates me anyway. They are supposed to give you the amount of your coupons back because they get paid for them. If they withhold the amount of your coupon then they are getting paid twice.
OH!!! And the beginning of the frustration was that in the book… there was no $7.99 coupon!!! I had the section that said “spend $15 and…” but no $7.99.

I asked three employees in FM where I could find the extra dollar off coupon. They knew nothing. They looked at me like I was talking crazy talk. I decided to go through with the purchase anyways. My first transaction worked great and the cat printed. The second transaction didn’t print a cat. When I asked what happened? Where is it? The checker dismissed me with” Sometimes they print and sometimes they don’t that’s just the way it is” and began helping the next customer like I wasn’t standing there. Oh… I was so hot under the collar.
Angela, I was thinking you could offer coupon classes to grocery stores employees because they were clueless.
The cat printed at the FM on Barber Blvd. in Portland. I did it today and rolled it. However, I went straight to the customer service desk and check out there. But there was no problem with the cat printing. I did buy the little movers size 4 and 5 for the first transaction and again for the second.

I was gonna try this deal tomorrow (Wednesday) for the wipes and try to get the cat to print. If I do..then the deal will only cost $6.94 for all those wipes. If not, then I’m still happy paying only about $10 for all those wipes. I’ll let you what happens.
I shop at FM in Tacoma (19th & Stevens) store. They know me really well there, so I should be able to get to the bottom of it.
This deal worked great for me today on all the wipes….make sure you look at the amount of wipes in each tub b/c they vary to save even more money.
I did the FM deal with just the basic 2 pack of snug & dry, since so many have been having trouble, and it all worked perfectly, Cat and all! I did realize though that being in WA means I had to pay tax, so my deal was not quite as good as the OR ones!
Just show your OR license to get tax exempt.
I went crazy with this deal! I went to three different FMs in the Hillsboro/Beaverton area, bought 22 packs of diapers in 11 transactions. At the first store, I tried doing one transaction right after another, but it only printed the cat for the first trans. I went to costumer service and they were able to give me the cats by returning everything, repurchasing it, and the cats printed. They said it was somehow linked to my rewards card – that the cats are only printing one per rewards card (although it’s not supposed to). I did not use my rewards card one the next several purchases and I did not have a problem rolling the transactions. Just to play it safe, I recommend not using your FM rewards card on these transactions!
