I had 2 hours sans kids this morning so I hit the streets to do some deals. Here’s what I managed to pull off.
First stop — Fred Meyer
Total: $8.13
I loaded my Egg Beaters coupon and had a FREE egg coupon from a home mailer. I also wanted to finally get my stock of Hefty one-zips. The store was stocked with freezer bags but no storage. On another note the cashier was completely flustered because not 5 minutes before a customer had been rude to her about the home mailer coupon. Whoever it was completely ruined her day. She was almost in tears telling me the story. Please, please, please be nice to cashiers. If the coupon doesn’t work take the item out of your transaction and try again later or go to customer service. Remember, these are people! (Okay, off soap box now.) You can find this week’s Fred Meyer deals here.
Second stop — QFC
Total: $36.98
Holy markdown’s Batman! They were everywhere. I scored Jennie-O ground turkey for $1.99 for a 20 oz package. I bought 4 and there were tons left. I also found a few items I had been saving coupons for. I stocked up on beans and tomatoes as they are only $.49 a can! Better than WinCo and you don’t need a coupon. I did make 2 unnecessary purchases, quinoa and Applegate turkey breast on clearance. No excuses. I fell to temptation adding $6 to my trip. You can find a complete list of this week’s awesome QFC deals here and here.
Third stop — Whole Foods
Total $2.58
This was couponer’s luck. Most of these deals are using coupons that are no longer circulating so it’s not one that you can mimick. They are having a 25% off sale on cereal. The Sambazon drink I bought had a $2 off Nature’s Path cereal when you buy 1 Sambazon. The Nature’s Path cereal was $2.99 + 25% off. Wow! I couldn’t believe my luck.
Fourth stop — Fred Meyer
Total $8
More Hefty one-zips. I had to use up all my coupons and I didn’t want to delete the stock on the shelves so I stopped at 2 different stores today. Gateway store had tons. I bought 16 and the cashier let me use 8 coupons in my transaction. I made sure to ask if he wouldn’t mind. He was happy to do so thereby saving me another trip. Remember, if you can’t find the Hefty one-zips in your store GET A RAIN CHECK! Customer service or the cashier can get you one.
So 2 hours later and 4 stores all within the same area for $55.69.
What great deals have you found this week?

Can you tell me whether this was Oregon or Washington?
Sounds like Oregon based on the area she mentioned in the post.
Portland, Oregon
I wish I had that many Hefty coupons! I was going to order some, but I could only find them on eBay, and they were all ending yesterday or today, so they wouldn’t have gotten here in time. Freaking sweet deals you got there! And I don’t blame you for the quinoa, that stuff is seriously awesome and versatile.
Fred Meyer, when are you going to start sending me some home mailer coupons? I don’t need free eggs, I live on a farm with enough egg producing chickens, but some other coupons would be awesome! I shop at your store at least once a week or more, come on guys.
