HOT Cash & Carry deals: Darigold Butter, shredded cheese, flour

by Angela on February 28, 2012

Our reader, Karen, found some great deals running at Cash & Carry right now:

Darigold Butter (1 lb) on sale $1.79
*This is a stock-up price. Butter freezes very well — just throw it in the freezer (no packaging needed). I would go crazy at this price.

Shredded Monterey Jack Cheese (5 lbs) on sale $10.98

All Montana Flour (50 lbs) on sale $12.99

These prices are good through March 11, 2012 and should work at all Cash & Carry stores. Cash & Carry is a warehouse-type store that caters to small businesses, but it is open to the general public. They do not take manufacturer’s coupons. They also have fantastic prices on coffee flavorings, just like the types coffee houses use.

I also believe that you have to pay in cash, no cards :)

Wow I would love to buy more butter but I have at least 30 lbs still from a Fred Meyer deal several months back and it’s overtaking my freezer ;) I’m definately thinking about getting some flour though and possibly more cheese. Thanks soo much for the heads up!

Does everyone know that butter prints are actually 1 bricks of butter? It’s still a great price, but you won’t be getting the familiar stocks inside the package.

Make that sticks of butter…it’s just one block. No measurements on the wrapper either. Just cut it in quarters, and you’ll be fine! Now stock up!

My unsalted came with 1/4 cup hash marks, but the salted didn’t.

Ok, so if it’s a block and I need to cut it up, what do you wrap it with? Saran wrap?

I usually leave it as a block until I need to thaw out, then you can quarter it and wrap the remainder it in plastic wrap. Waxed paper works too.

I always thought butter came out weird if you freeze it or am I wrong?

Thawed butter is just fine – it works great for me!
Maybe you’re thinking about frozen cheese? :-)

I have always frozen butter and never had a problem with it. Cheese is a different story though lol. Good thing about cheese is it will keep in your fridge for 1-2 years as long as it isn’t opened because it is so dense. Around here cheese doesn’t last that long though ;)
