New Seasons Anniversary Sale + Deals for February 24-March 2

by Angela on February 25, 2010

My oh my, New Seasons is hopping this week! I am so glad I have extra money in my February grocery envelope because I am going to buy an outrageous amount of chicken breast this week! Here are the best deals at New Seasons from our very own Hard Core Laurie. All the items listed are items at stockpile prices, so start shopping if you use any of these products.

After reading these deals, be sure to stop by Saving 4 My Family in case we overlooked anything. Erica & Christina always do a great job covering New Seasons.

*This is the lowest price on high quality chicken in our area. This sale only comes twice a year. Ask the butcher to package the chicken in meal sized portions. Just stick it in a freezer bag when you get home and you’re set!

UPDATE: If you want a large quantity of meat, just call your order in and the butcher will have it ready for you to pick up. I called this afternoon and ordered (32) 1.5 lb packages of chicken breast and it will be ready for me to pick up Friday morning. I just love New Seasons’ customer service!

And a quick note from Laurie:

I’m going to be honest here, it is easy to go into New Seasons & be dazzled by all the pretty things and walk out having spent $100 when you are planning to spend $40.  I know because I used to do it all the time (before I actually just used cash to pay for groceries).  Help yourself out here:  make a plan of attack for this place.   Don’t bring the kiddos so that you can be focused, and they won’t be asking for spendy treats to placate them.  Don’t go in hungry.   Now that you are armed with knowledge, you can be a successful coupon shopper at New Seasons!

The $1/1 mq for Kettle Chips in the 1/3 SS is for the BAKED variety only. These are priced $3.xx at the stores, and not included in the sale. Also there is a $1/1 maranatha mq in the latest mailed version of the Mambo sprouts book (just dug mine out of the pile)

I was just at Cedar Hills New Seasons today, and I saved $26 in coupon values alone…I stocked up big time. I will post on my blog later this week. I wanted to say that if people have Chinook Books, they can get even more incredible deals. I got pacific soups for $0.50 each, Steibrs eggs for $0.50, Coconut Bliss for $2.50, all with Chinook Book Coupons. You can also get ground flaxseed for $3 using a CB coupon…and much more. I go into detail here: http://www.organicthrifty.com/2010/02/25/pdx-readers-new-seasons-hot-prices-this-week/

Anyway, I believe that the potential savings that could be had would pay for a $13.00 Chinook book (I saved enough in this trip to buy 2!).

Anyway, hope this helps!

Carrie

Get the Chinook Book first – there are some great coupons in there for New Seasons and a few of the products on sale. Not handy right now otherwise I’d get the details :)

Thank you so much for these New Seasons deals! Just got back from my 2nd trip (went last Thursday too). I had to go back because after I tasted the chicken, Muir Glen tomoato sause, organic oranges, bulk dark choc. chips and organic french baguette I wanted to stock up! The cashier was so nice taking all my Muir Glen coupons I had printed and the pealies off the cans/jars, she even gave me a free New Seasons re-useable bag.

Ah, I just missed this sale. Angela, you mentioned the chicken sale is twice a year…when will it happen again? Thank you!

I have a question…is the chicken “free range”? Because, I went to Gartner’s Meat Market last week for the first time and was pleasantly surprised at the prices on some things.
Their boneless skinless chicken breast is $3.99 a pound. I asked the guy where they came from and he said that they are from a local farm, fed a vegetarian diet and such. The only thing is that they aren’t “free range”.

The really great deal was ground white chicken meat for $1.50 a pound. WOW!!

I’m just starting to try to buy more naturally and all that jazz, so I was stoked to find this.
