Rite Aid: $30 worth of Garnier products FREE after +UP Rewards

by Melody on September 5, 2011

Update: It looks like the second $10 +UP Reward may not be printing now.  It’s possible it was just a glitch in the system and has since been corrected.

Rite Aid has a promotion on Garnier products running this week: Spend $30, Get $10 +UP Reward.  A few readers have been commenting that they have been receiving a second $10 +UP Reward with their Garnier purchase so I decided to give it a try and it is definitely printing both rewards!

I have no idea why the second reward is printing or how long it will print for, but it is definitely worth heading in for.  There are TONS of Garnier products included in the sale and my local store had a huge selection, so there should be enough to go around.

A few possible deal scenarios:

(6) Garnier Hair Care $3.99 (3 will ring up $1.99)
(2) Garnier Herbashine Hair Color $8.49 (1 will ring up $4.25)
Use (6) $1/1 Garnier hair care coupons from 7/24 or 8/28 RP insert
Use (2) $3/1 Herbashine coupons from 8/28 RP insert
Use $1/1 Garnier shampoo or conditioner Rite Aid store coupon (NLA)
Pay $17.68, Get (2) $10 +UPs
FREE + $2.32 overage after coupons and rewards

(2) Garnier Herbashine Hair Color $8.49 (1 will ring up $4.25)
(4) Garnier Moisture Rescue Cleanser $5.99 (2 will ring up $2.99)
Use (2) $3/1 Herbashine coupons from 8/28 RP insert
Use (4) $1/1 Garnier cleanser or moisturizer coupon or from 6/19 RP insert
Pay $20.70, Get (2) $10 +UPs
$.12 each after coupons and rewards

My local area didn’t get the Herbashine coupons, so I decided to do this scenario with the coupons I had:

(5) Garnier Stylers $4.49 (2 rang up $2.25)
(5) Garnier Shampoo/Conditioner $3.99 (3 rang up $1.99)
Used (5) $1/1 Garnier Stylers coupon from 7/24 or 8/28 RP insert
Used (5) $1/1 Garnier Hair Care coupon from 7/24 or 8/28 RP insert
Used $1/1 Garnier shampoo or conditioner Rite Aid store coupon (NLA)
Paid $20.91, Received (2) $10 +UPs
$.09 each after coupons and rewards

I’m curious to know if this hasn’t worked for anyone.  Mine printed two tracking lines on the bottom of my receipt, like there was a separate monthly reward running.  Either way, what a fantastic deal!

The Rite aid I use does not give you the ups on spend $20 receive$10
ups before coupons and ups. You must spend $20 after all coupon and ups. Is this correct if not how does this work and is there anythig in the store policy stating this.

ludwika September 23, 2011 at 12:56 pm

for those of you who got the two ten ups if you go and buy a trial size ganier shampoo you get another ten up. i just did it here in tricities on 20th and got the ten.

pamela a September 7, 2011 at 11:19 am

I just got 10 up, but the reciept also states I have $35 of 30 to ten ups…..usually it resets to just 5. interesting.

sbramirez September 6, 2011 at 7:45 am

went today and only got 1 $10up oh well

Shannon September 6, 2011 at 8:30 am

we probably got the extra day because of the holiday, before they were able to fix it in the system.

Jess September 6, 2011 at 8:52 am

:( lol yup just one $10

michelle m September 6, 2011 at 1:34 pm

BUMMER! i did the deal this morning too & only got one $10 up. Not sure if I really want to keep all of it for $10…but would feel really bad returning so much stuff….the cashiers would detest me even more! :)

Also, keep an eye out for shampoos and conditioners that have 30% more free along with the style products that have additional trial sizes attached to them.

This deal worked for me!!I am now going to try lots of products i would never have thought to buy YAY!

Felicia September 5, 2011 at 9:49 pm

will they allow you to use more than 4 like coupons in a trans????

Melody September 6, 2011 at 5:14 am

I hadn’t really thought of it until you mentioned it, so I went back through the coupon policy really quickly and couldn’t find where it says anything about that. I vaguely remember that rule now, does anyone remember where it was mentioned?

Shannon September 6, 2011 at 8:23 am

I used 6 of the same on the shampoo/conditioners…I could of gotten stylers if they had said anything but they didnt.

Shannon September 6, 2011 at 8:24 am

I think the rule is 4 like items, so you dont clear shelves…so mix it up!

carmen September 6, 2011 at 8:30 am

At the very end it says “Rite Aid may accept up to 4 identical coupons for the same number of qualifying items…”

Ali September 5, 2011 at 9:18 pm

I have never shopped at Rite Aid, do you need to sign up for a rewards card or how does the UPs work? We are running low on shampoo and this sounds like a good fix!

Melody September 5, 2011 at 9:30 pm

You do need to sign up for a Wellness+ card for the +UP Rewards to print. It’s super easy and you can sign up in a minute or two at the checkout. Totally worth it! You will pay a decent amount out of pocket and one thing to remember is that you will now have $20 in +UP Rewards to use that can only be used at Rite Aid. This is a great deal for me since I shop at Rite Aid every week, but just keep that in mind.

Shannon September 5, 2011 at 9:11 pm

Woohoo, I used my free herbashine haircolor coupon and the $1/1 coupons we got here in Portland….purchased 2 haircolors, 6 shampoo and conditioners…after coupon total $16.68…paid $16 +Ups and $.68 cash….+Ups back $20 Nice!

Melody September 5, 2011 at 8:46 pm

Ha! I just noticed that there is a blurry running boy in the background of the picture. He’s just learning to walk and he’s quick, I didn’t even see him there!

Amanda Rose September 5, 2011 at 8:07 pm

I have 2 coupons for free herbashine hair color and some of the $3/1 herbashine hair color. Can someone help me work out a scenario for that please and thank you :)

Melody September 5, 2011 at 8:29 pm

Okay, here’s what I would do to maximize your coupons.

Do two completely separate transactions to use your free coupons. If you buy one hair color at a time, the full $8.49 will count towards your $30 needed AND they will take off the full amount of the coupon. So after those first two transactions, you will pay zero out of pocket, but have $16.98 towards the rewards.

For a third transaction, do this:
(2) Herbashine hair color $8.49 (1 will ring up $4.25)
(1) Garnier shampoo or conditioner $3.99
Use (2) $3/1 Herbashine coupon and $1/1 hair care coupon

After all three transactions, you should have paid around $9.73 and received (2) $10 +UP Rewards. $10.27 moneymaker after coupons and rewards!

I know that’s a little complicated, but I think that’s the best way to do it. Anyone else have any thoughts?

holly September 5, 2011 at 7:55 pm

Just got back from Murray and Allen Rite Aid. The shelves were fully stocked of the shampoos and conditioners and I got 2 $10 UP rewards! I did have to buy an 11th bottle to get over the $30 mark though so it ended up being $33.89-$10 coupons= 23.89 and then I got back $20 in rewards. I needed shampoo and conditioner so I thought this was a good deal.

Sienna September 6, 2011 at 9:19 am

The trial size bottles of shampoo and conditioner work to get you over the $30 mark, I was .40 short and so just added one of those.

I didn’t get those Qs in the RP either, so thanks for the links Melody! It’s appreciated!

Francoise September 5, 2011 at 7:21 pm

I found the following coupon links on Slickdeals…

Garnier Fructis blow dry perfector $2.00/1:

Garnier Fructis Anti-Dandruff $1 .00/1:

Amanda September 5, 2011 at 8:11 pm

So helpful! Thanks!

Holly September 5, 2011 at 6:02 pm

I didn’t get those coupons in my inserts either. I did find two different coupons through another blogs coupon database and, since I have three computers, I was able to print 10 coupons. I’m headed out now to try the deal.

tami September 5, 2011 at 5:57 pm

I’m in the Portland,OR area and i have been looking through those inserts. I didn’t get any of those Garnier coupons. That stinks!!!

Jennifer September 5, 2011 at 4:57 pm

Worked for me. Wish I could do it again. Definitely worth it if you have the OOP.
