Don’t know if anyone ever mentions this, but once you hit 500 points (aka $$) on Wellness program, you earn a reward from RA (this was mentioned on my receipt on Sunday). You go to riteaid.com/wellness and claim your reward. Last year and again this year I took a restaurants.com $25 certificate (you pick a place from the list, enter the reward code they give you online, and print it out. They don’t expire.) Most places have a $35 minimum purchase (some require more) but I think it’s still a good deal. $10 for $35 in food/drink, plus a $5-7 tip.

Good Reminder!
I already signed up for another free subscription of Good Housekeeping. I’ve been surprised how quickly my points are adding up this year, I feel like I’m spending less money and time at Rite Aid than in past years but I already have over 750 points.

charolyn April 9, 2013 at 8:59 pm

Thanks both of you for the info-I hadn’t paid attention, because I remember before it was just free lab work-that I already get free with my insurance :-) I believe I am there also-will have to check.

Howard April 10, 2013 at 12:09 pm

“Good Housekeeping” is an oxymoron around our place, sort of like Jumbo Shrimp or Military Intelligence. I don’t think a magazine would change anything.

Reply

charolyn April 10, 2013 at 5:11 pm

I signed up for the restaurant coupon today :-)
Yes I am afraid the magazine wouldn’t help me either-but would add to the clutter.

Reply

Brenda April 10, 2013 at 10:32 pm

Ha! Truthfully, I just cut out any coupons in them and pass them off to my mom!

Reply

charolyn April 11, 2013 at 10:56 am

Oh-another good idea-I didn’t know they may have coupons – thanks :-) I did look to see if the main couponing magazine was included (forget the name), but it wasn’t.

Howard April 11, 2013 at 2:04 pm

Charolyn, if you’re referring to All You, you can get one year free with 333 Coke reward points. I just began my 2nd free year.

charolyn April 11, 2013 at 9:10 pm

Yes that’s the one-thanks for the tip.

I was at my Rite Aid five minutes after they opened today and already the bic razors were gone and the Playtex too. Also, all the John Frieda Luxurious Volume was gone with exception of a few hairsprays. Oh well…..I should learn to be more punctual. ( ;

Reply

Brenda April 7, 2013 at 8:57 pm

It’s sad that 5 minutes later is considered late…so frustrating!
I’m wondering if there was an issue with the Luxurious Volume products because I looked around for them last week (just to get an idea if the deal was even possible) and only found 1 bottle at 1 store, the other stores didn’t have any. Chances are that even if you were 5 minutes earlier, your store didn’t have them. Playtex is a monthly deal so hopefully they will restock before the end of the month. I finally found some at the 2nd store I went in today.

Howard April 7, 2013 at 9:14 pm

Customer: “How can you afford to sell color TVs for $20?”
Merchant: “Volume”

Reply

Beth April 6, 2013 at 2:30 pm

I’m not seeing the Playtex wipes in the ad online. What page are they on? Or is this a monthly unlisted deal?

Reply

Howard April 6, 2013 at 2:34 pm

I found them at redplum.com. I had to install some software and decline several offers before I could get to the coupon. But I was able to print 2 (didn’t attempt to do more than that).

Reply

JHollyhock (aka Jennifer H.) April 6, 2013 at 3:27 pm

This is a monthly unlisted deal.

Like Nicole, I was wondering about the load to card digital coupons. Has anyone had experience with those at Rite Aid? Do they work OK? I know that at Safeway my digital coupons don’t always come off my total.

Reply

Howard April 6, 2013 at 2:20 pm

I have not tried the RA load to card coupons yet, but I know others on this site have complained about them not working.

Reply

Theresa April 6, 2013 at 6:08 pm

I used the Playtex load2card coupon last week and then reloaded it again after that. From what I understand you can use it twice, but you have to actually re load it after using it. HTH

Reply

Brenda April 6, 2013 at 10:41 pm

I use to regularly use the load 2 card coupons, but the last few months I have had tons of trouble having them come off correctly. I pretty much ignore them now because of the issues. I have never had a load 2 card coupon work more than 1 time, but I’ve never tried to re-load a coupon again after I used it.
One other tip to keep in mind especially since there are so many load 2 card coupons available now (what’s with the weird food products that Rite Aid doesn’t even carry?!), is there is a 100 coupon limit per cardmember. I use to think it was easier just to load all of the coupons available, but it screws up the system if you have too many loaded and nothing will come off. Remember that if you still have your UpRewards loaded to your card (instead of printing on your receipt) that they are considered load 2 card coupons as well and need to be figured in to the 100 coupon limit or they will not load to your card correctly.

Reply

Janene April 7, 2013 at 6:47 am

wow! I didn’t know about that limit….I have noticed that I’ll load a coupon and don’t see the discount on the receipt~I’ve been told that the discount is applied even if it doesn’t show but I just don’t want to play the game of “Will It Work?” after learning how to use the Rite Aid coupons on my card. Anywho, I don’t put much stock in those Load 2 Card coupons anymore right now but I like a challenge so I’m sure I will later.

Reply

Brenda April 7, 2013 at 1:52 pm

yeah, I found out the hard way about the limit. I got so frustrated with the coupons not coming off that I would just load all the coupons to my card and if they came off it was a bonus. I’ve never had a load2card coupon take the discount off and not show on my receipt, but I have noticed that for the last few weeks not all of my paper coupons will show on my receipt but when I figure out all the math it still comes out right-maybe the load2card coupons are messed up too?

Reply

charolyn April 7, 2013 at 5:18 pm

As for the load2card-I have used them several times in the past & no problems-I don’t load up to the limit-don’t know if that
affects it or not.
I don’t know how many times you can use them-but do remember I used one once & was surprised to see it still active on my list-so maybe more than once, but didn’t try it
myself.
I have also recently had coupons in general not show-but the total is correct-no problems last week though, so maybe that was fixed.
Thanks for the info Nicole-got the playtex one loaded (now if I can just find some :-)

Brenda April 7, 2013 at 8:43 pm

Yeah! I bought 2 of the Playtex today and used 1 paper coupon and the load 2 card coupon came off as well! If they still have some later in the week, I might test my luck and see if I can make the load 2 card coupon work again. I was able to reload it so we’ll just have to wait and see.

charolyn April 7, 2013 at 10:56 pm

Brenda I was looking a iheartriteaid today & in the comments this has worked for some other people! There was some talk too about one coming off twice.

Melody April 8, 2013 at 7:25 am

I used my Load2Card coupon yesterday with no problems and was able to load it again this morning! I’ll try it again this week and try to report back. I don’t think I’ve ever had a problem with them either, but I’ve never loaded very many at once.

Nicole April 6, 2013 at 10:08 am

If you have a Wellness card, you should be able to load the $5 Playtex coupon to it through the Rite Aid website. Anyone know if Rite Aid digital coupons are good more than once?

Reply

Howard April 6, 2013 at 2:39 pm

Help! I have two $10 +UPs expiring this week (one goes on 4-7) and can’t find anything exciting in this great list, other than the Playtex. I try to avoid buying things that are full-price, and don’t need any makeup items or milk. If I have to, I’ll use them on full-price RA omeprazole (aka Prilosec) with the 20% discount. If I bring any more shampoo or toothpaste into the house my wife will murderize me (you all can testify against her in court).

Rite Aid has some really great tortilla chips that everyone in my family loves that are $1.75 for a 15oz bag with gold discount. Also, don’t forget the Bic razors which are a money maker.

Also, if you haven’t done the Fuel energy drink it is $1.99 BOGO and get $2+UP when you buy 2 so a good way to roll the UPs.

uhhh Howard, don’t know what to tell you.
Doesn’t look like there’s much to work with this week.
Hate to point this out, but do you have a 24 hour location nearby?
RA Omeprazole is on sale thru today with an in-ad coupon for $13.99. (think it’s actually a bit cheaper with our 20% discount)

The Bvtn-Hsdl store is having their grand re-opening sale this week. Go ck out some of their deal. They have the organic Bonne Maman preserves for $2.99. My family loves their wild blueberry preserves. I usually can’t get these for less than $3/ea, even that price is pretty rare. So, this is a great deal for me. They will give rainchecks if they’re out because they’re pretty low on their inventory right now. I know that the 39h & division store was fully stocked on these preserves yesterday. You can use your rainck there.

Howard,
Inquiring minds what to know…what did you use your UpR’s on???
Tell me you spent the $20 on chocolate, right?!

OK, Bren and Jen, I know you’ve been waiting with bated breath for what I came up with. I didn’t know what my exact total would be, but I winged it and came out OK. No Playtex wipes at either of the 2 stores I went to, but it’s a month-long UP deal, so maybe later. I got 4 Visines for $.92; 4 Stax chips for $5; 8 2-liter Pepsi products for $10; 4 Fuel energy drinks for $3.78, + $.60 deposits. Total $20.30, paid $.30 and got $9 in new UPs and compliments from the cashier. So a 2 week-reprieve till the new UPs expire. No chocolate.

Sounds like you did well, much better than spending it on chocolate!

Howard-my breath was bated also-so thanks for letting all of us know :-) & very impressive with your cost .30 !!

Thanks Melody for posting this early with so many scenarios!
The John Frieda Luxurious Volume coupon has a 1 coupon per person limitation on it. It’s in small print in the bottom right hand corner, so it’s easy to miss. There are some other John Frieda coupons that came with free samples awhile ago that some people might have. Also, if you’re a Savings Club member with coupons.com there is a $2.05/1 coupon available. It’s hard to say, but I think since the coupon value is different you should be able to use 1 of each of those. It might be best just to stick to the $3/2 coupons for the deal.

The 2.00/1 John Freida coupons… if you’re a savings club member w/coupons.com there’s also a 2.05/1 so you can use 2 of each instead of the 3.00/2 from the SS insert, and it drops the cost to .47 each =)

I can’t find the $2/1 John Freida coupon in the 2/10 SS~either I’m having a senior moment and already used the coupons or just going blind ….can anyone tell me what it was next to?

my bad….the $3/2 John Freida coupon is missing from my inserts or maybe I used them?

It’s possible they were regional, our area doesn’t always get them. Kind of hit or miss.

I completed the survey here: https://johnfrieda.safeprocessing.com/survey.aspx and was able to print off two $3/2 Hair care or colour coupons. Hope this helps.

Lisa April 5, 2013 at 3:18 pm

for the garnier deal is the $15 before coupons? is that in writing somewhere? I always worry about that! :-)

Howard April 5, 2013 at 4:06 pm

RA UP deals are pretty much always based on the price you pay (after any Wellness discount) and before mfr and in-ad cpns.

Melody April 5, 2013 at 5:47 pm

As Howard said, it is before all coupons, store or manufacturer. The scenarios above should work just as written.
