Rite Aid Deals for December 2 – 8

by Melody on November 30, 2012

Here are the best Rite Aid deals starting Sunday, December 2nd, brought to you by Melody from This Beautiful Frugal Life. Be sure to check out Melody’s post “How to Throw a Favorite Things Party”.

Here are links and coupons you may need to score big this week at Rite Aid:

:: Video Values coupons (November videos available through 12/1)
:: Single Check Rebate program

Are you new to playing Rite Aid? Get all of your questions answered at the Rite Aid Store Guide

Please note: Some prices may vary by region, especially on the BOGO deals or deals from the ad where prices aren’t listed.

Holiday Gift Promotion: Be sure to check the bottom of a recent Rite Aid receipt to see if you received a special “Holiday Gift Promotion” offer.  I personally received a “Spend $110, Get $10 +UP Reward” offer, but it looks as if everyone is receiving different offers.  From what I can tell, all items are included (minus the usual suspects like alcohol, tobacco, etc) and you have through 12/24/12 to earn your reward.  For more information on this promotion, click here.

{SINGLE CHECK REBATE DEALS}

Please note: The Single Check Rebate offers for November end on Tuesday 12/4 and the December offers start immediately after. I will note on each item which month the offer is from, but please be aware when you are making your shopping list this week that you may have to wait to purchase certain items.

I found some almay eye shadows on clearance with 75% off. They ran out as $1.87, I used the $2 VV coupon which made them FREE. And there is also a $2 RA rebate. Which will make them a moneymaker! So, check your stores for clearance.
There is also another two VV coupons for foundation, concealers, and blushes. With the $4 rebate, should be a good deal. There were also some of these items with 75% off. Good Luck!

Do you think RA will ever let you have your VV coupons loaded to your wellness card? I haven’t had a computer to print on for a while and I am always bummed to miss out on the extra savings!

Melody December 4, 2012 at 1:17 pm

That’s a great suggestion! Email their customer service and I can email my RA contact. If enough people let them know, maybe they would consider. They are pretty good at trying to keep up with what the consumer wants.

Is anyone else having problems with them Arm & Hammer laundry detergent monthly +ups? I bought 2 liquid detergents yesterday & didn’t receive the monthly +ups. I called Customer Service today. They told me that only certain stores qualified for the monthly +ups for this product. They cannot send me the monthly +ups if I didn’t buy the product at a qualifying store. I’m basically out of luck. The customer service person offered to look up the stores by my zip code to see if any of the stores near me qualified. I live in SW Portland. I gave them 6 or 7 zip codes in the SW & SE Portland and none of the stores qualified for the monthly +up on this offer. This is the first time I’ve ever heard of monthly +ups being offered only in certain stores. Does anyone in the Portland area have any insight into this? Also, do you know of any stores that are printing out the monthly +ups for this offer?

Brenda December 4, 2012 at 5:09 pm

I know that they have regional offers, but this one sounds different (weird!) to me! It’s frustrating to have to try and figure it out without any offical information. I bought my limit during the Black Friday sale so I didn’t bother with it this week in Vancouver, WA. I know plenty of people bought it in the Portland area during the Black Friday sale as well and the monthly UpR’s printed for them.
Anyone else in the Portland area receive the monthly rewards that’s willing to share their zip code for Elaine to try?
Also, I wonder what the end date is for the monthly UpR, is that why it’s not printing anymore?

I thought the monthly +UP’s ended today, but when I went in today to buy the Axe shower gel, I only got 1 +UP. I have to wait until tomorrow to call and check on it…

This is strange. I bought 2 liquids on Turkey Day and paid $6, expecting to get a $3 UP. I got one plus two $2 UPs. I posted that info and then found out they were monthly UPs. My ZIP is 97219, SW Portland. I bought them at King City, for sure, store #5355.

I didn’t get the extra +up on the axe or the arm & hammer yesterday & that was at 3 different stores in the beaverton area. Did still get a great price on the axe as I also had some load to card coupons!

charolyn December 5, 2012 at 9:30 am

I did get the arm & hammer +up on Sunday in Hillsboro (sunset). I wonder if it ended on the 3rd?

Evidently they were not in the Oregonian according to several people.

I was not able to do this offer for the Radiant, the Tigard RA does not have them on sale and des not ring up 5.99.
Going to try one other store on other side of Beaverton. Might someone have another idea or am I out of luck?

It may not work. The only reason I listed the Tampax Radiant is because they weren’t listed as being excluded. The Always specifically excluded the Radiant, while the Tampax only excluded the Pearl.

Reply

Howard December 3, 2012 at 4:59 pm

I tried the Radiant Sunday with no luck. It rang up at a higher price. I asked the cashier about it. She said although the ad specifically excluded Pearl and not Radiant, it was on 40-count Tampax. The Radiant is 32. So I passed. The ad should have excluded Radiant too, I would say.

Melody, have you posted anything anything about the $5 +UP on $50 purchase at RA? I got a card in the mail yesterday informing me about this. It didn’t specify what qualified or whether it had to be all in one purchase. Today my receipt showed me I was within $1.06 of the $50 threshold and had until 12-24 to qualify. I went to another RA to get the soda that the first store was out of, and it kicked out a $5 UP (good for 2 weeks, just like regular ones). I wonder if multiples will issue for future $50 purchases…..

Barbara December 2, 2012 at 6:53 pm

It will only print once. It varies in the amount. Mine was $10 for $105. Some people didn’t get the offer at all. Very random.

Melody December 2, 2012 at 7:38 pm

I mentioned it at the top of this post and there is a link to I Heart Rite AId with more info. I got a $10 +UP when you spend $110. Seems to be based on what you spent LAST holiday season at Rite Aid.

I just noticed the American Express Gift Card RA Q for $10 off purchase. The scenario I’m thinking is buy 3-$25 cards minus the $10 would be a $75 purchase power for $65? Can these be used like cash at Costco?

Howard December 2, 2012 at 4:32 pm

I’ve never bought these, but I think there might be a $5 user fee involved per card. Not sure, but someone else will know.

Did Oregonian have $10 Gillette Proglide wyb Cartridge or Disposable coupon? I can’t find it!!

Also, I can’t find Stayfree coupon SS10/28

Did Oregonian have either of these?

Brenda December 2, 2012 at 3:52 pm

ripet,
The Oregonian did not get the Stayfree coupon, but it did have the $10 Gillette coupon in the 12/2 RP. I’m not sure if they are all the same, but I mine is located on page 7 in the upper right hand corner.

I did the Axe deal this AM.. There were 5 or 6 scents and of those, 4 were bonus size bottles (16oz) and the coupon scanned perfectly. Received both $5 Ups. Also did the A&H deal and received both weekly and monthly Ups…only the liquid counts for the monthly 2 $2 not the packs..and only if you didn’t already do over BF.

Quinn December 3, 2012 at 12:39 pm

Cool, I will have to go back and try again. How do people know about the monthly up’s? I see the regular up’s noted on the shelf but couldn’t find where the monthly up’s are located. Is it a secret :)

I would like to know too! Is there a list someplace?

Reply

Quinn December 3, 2012 at 1:00 pm

Oh and do you only get one MONTHLY up? I have a feeling you do but wanted to ask. Thanks for your help.

Erin December 3, 2012 at 5:50 pm

Quinn
Monthly UP tags are usually under the weekly tag but get pulled early (like the prior Sunday) in most stores as the new month starts mid week… Melody has the best weekly posts/scenarios for RA but iheart riteaid.com has additional information each week

The Axe deal is: Weekly $5 WYB $15 and Monthly $5 WYB $15 Limit 2 each. Spend $30 get 4 $5 UPs (1 time only) and the monthly as stated are supposed to be good through Tuesday.

Melody December 3, 2012 at 1:41 pm

There isn’t a set list, I generally find them on other sites or advertised in store on tags. You can usually find a good list at iheartriteaid.com as well.

Appreciate you, thanks again.

On the Axe Body Spray or Antiperspirant, Shampoo or Conditioner (12 oz) or Body Wash on sale $4.50 deal the $2 off coupon in 12/2 SS is for 16oz and larger so it won’t work. Bummer. Thanks for the match ups.

Me too!!

Jenny December 2, 2012 at 4:15 pm

$25 of my +UPs expired yesterday! Do you know if rite aid is very strict on the expiration date? Am I out of luck? :(

Don’t buy gift cards from Rite-Aid, on channel 2 in portland, they had a segment on what gift cards not to buy and Rite Aid was the top of the list, they are doing poorly as a company and you get a gift card and not be able to use it, K-mart was 2nd on the list and Sears, 3rd companies struggling badly! Why not buy Target gift cards and donate at Sleep Country places for teens who get nothing because everyone goes gaga over tiny children, they get left out..I got some Target gift cards and the lady who ran the whole shebang from Vancouver for kids who are taken to Foster care after their parents are in jail, arrested, abandoned them was at the store on about 171st mill plain in vancouver..She was gracious and so appreciated I saw her on AMNW suggesting gift cards, cause the teens or pre teens could select what they need and could use..It surely made me feel better to hand them over to someone who cares about others as much as she does, got a receipt for my donation! Just a suggestion, also Safeway has bags filled with good food for only $10.00 donation at their customer service counter and they fill them with good food and throw in extra a nice donation for people who are in need for food! happy holidays!!!!!!!!!!!!! also you can donate as you go thru your shopping trip with the cashiers!

I have bought gift cards from Rite Aid several times and had no problems redeeming them at all. Thank you for all the additional ideas though!

Reply

Brenda December 2, 2012 at 4:05 pm

Melody,
I saw the show too, it was referring to which stores to avoid buying store gift cards because they are most likely to go out of business and you won’t be able to redeem your card. Pretty sad to see Rite Aid at the #1 spot, even Kmart (who filed bankruptcy!) is underneath them.
mmmmmm,
By any chance do you remember the name of the woman or organization you talked with at Sleep Country? My sister volunteers regularly with Joanie who runs NW Children’s in Vancouver and wondering if it’s the same organization. Thank you for donating and for taking the time to think about who might be left out!

I hope I didn’t come across like I was doubting, I didn’t mean that! But I do know that as long as I’ve been coupon shopping at Rite Aid (about 3 years), people have been saying that they are going out of business or bankrupt. Wonder what the back story is?

Reply

Brenda December 2, 2012 at 7:38 pm

No, I understood what you meant…just had to add my 2 cents!
You are right that they have been talking about RiteAid forever, I need to stop worrying until something actually happens!

Brenda December 1, 2012 at 11:30 pm

Tara,
Yes, all of the UpR’s (printed or loaded to your card) are not valid to use until 6am the following day. It has been a bit of an adjustment for me to get use to this new rule as well.

Reply

Brenda December 1, 2012 at 11:31 pm

oops, Lorri beat me to it!

Reply

Tara December 1, 2012 at 9:46 pm

Does all Rite Aids only allow you to use your up rewards 24 hours later whether printed or not?.. A bit Frusterating… ;(

Reply

Lorri December 1, 2012 at 11:27 pm

Tara- the ups are available to use the next day after 6 am. Yes a little frustrating

Florence December 1, 2012 at 7:20 pm
