I stopped in to RA today to take advantage of just a couple deals and happened upon a great DD! The photo frames and albums have a UP reward of $5 back wyb $25. And some of the pinnacle frames have UPs as well. Plus the frames are BOGO 50% off. I bought 2 frames at 12.99/6.49 and got $6UP for each one. I will go back tomorrow and pick up a couple other smaller frames to bring my total to $25. There are other UPrewards for $4Ups, $2Ups, $1Ups on the pinnacle frames. Each is limit 2. I will go back for 2 of the 3.99/1.99 frames which will bring my total to just over $25 for frames so I will get the $5UP and 2 $2UPs. So for $25.46 OOP I will get 4 frames (2 5×7 and 2 2×3), I will get back 2 $6UPs, 2 $2UPs and 1 $5UP for a total of $21UPs back!!! There are other options to alter the OOP and UPs as suits your needs.

Holy Cow, that is a good deal!
Isn’t it fun when you stumble across good deals (even better when no coupons are involved!)?
Definitely will have to check these out this week, thanks for the tip!

I put in on my list to look too-thanks!

I can’t find the Almay coupon. Was it in the Oregonian?

Reply

Brenda December 12, 2012 at 4:32 pm

No, the Oregonian rarely gets Almay coupons. Sorry.
Not sure if you would be interested, but for future reference the Columbian (Vancouver, WA paper) usually does get Almay coupons so you might consider purchasing it when new Almay coupons come out.

I went in today to get the Prevacid deal that you posted, since I have the 20%, I thought it was a great deal, but sadly, my – $7/2 coupon is for the 42 ct. only, so not a good deal after all. (Unless you can print off 3 -$3 coupons, but I had not done that.)

Reply

Melody December 10, 2012 at 7:52 pm

Oh no, that was my fault! The database had the coupons listed as any Prevacid. Sorry for the trouble!

Reply

Brenda December 9, 2012 at 8:53 pm

Found some good deals on Almay makeup, thanks to Melody’s reminder about the SCR’s available.
Got a concealer for $5.39 on sale, use a $2 coupon, $2 VV coupon, and will submit for the $3 SCR which makes for a nice moneymaker.
That deal almost makes up for my silly mistake made on the Dove body wash deal. Didn’t realize until I got home that I bought the wrong size, which rang up at over $5 a bottle (after my discount!) and of course it didn’t print the UpR. Now the dilemma…do I take it back and lose all of my coupons or just suck it up and pay attention next time?!

Reply

charolyn December 10, 2012 at 11:39 am

Yes I run into similar dilemmas myself!
On this one though-as you just got the wrong size-you could exchange it and get the difference back & wouldn’t have to worry about the coupon-as you are still getting a Dove. & you would get the +up. Hopefully you have a nice couponing store that would be glad to do this for you.
When it is a problem for me is returning it when I used a coupon-as I would get too much money back & that isn’t fair to the store.

Reply

Howard December 10, 2012 at 12:26 pm

I know, I hate returning something on which I used a cpn, even though I know the store is getting reimbursed for it. I end up making $$ at the mfr’s expense so I try to avoid that. Recently I returned something that had generated a +UP, so I did the right thing and gave back the UP with the product, even though the cashier told me to keep it.

Reply

Brenda December 10, 2012 at 7:48 pm

They were out of the correct size, so I just kept the bigger ones.
It’s my dumb fault anyway!

Reply

Howard December 11, 2012 at 4:40 pm

Will that concealer hide my receding hairline?

Reply

Brenda December 11, 2012 at 6:46 pm

uh, not so sure about that Howard.
Why don’t you try it out and report back to us?!

Reply

Howard December 14, 2012 at 2:39 pm

I just might. No pain, Rogaine.

Reply

Brenda December 9, 2012 at 7:59 pm

There are some pretty sweet monthly deals that involve no coupons (yippee!).
Here are the ones I found today.
Pears Transparent Soap Bars 3pk. Sale Price $2.29, Receive $2 UpR. Limit 4.
Pentel Twist Erase Pencils (2 pencils, extra lead and eraser) Shelf Price $4.99 ($3.99 with 20% discount), Receive $4 UpR. Limit?
There were signs hanging up on empty pegs for additional Pentel products, so I’m sure there are more items that would generate the UpR. There was no limit listed on the sale signs and it doesn’t show any tracking on my receipt either.

Howard December 11, 2012 at 4:39 pm

Wish I’d known about the Pears Sunday. Both Tigard stores had none today. But one of them won’t restock till later this week.

Reply

Brenda December 11, 2012 at 6:48 pm

Hopefully, they will get some in before the end of the month. At least we don’t have to worry about coupons expiring before they get more stock!

JHollyhock,
It’s a citrus smell, but not too stinky for me.

is the ricola dual action a dd??

Reply

Brenda December 9, 2012 at 7:50 pm

Yes!
I bought 2 packages of the Ricola dual action cough drops (19 count bags) that are on sale 2/$3 and received 3 $1 UpR’s, making them free.
There is a monthly deal printing $1 UpR on each bag, along with the weekly deal which is $1 UpR on 2 bags. There are coupons available in the 11/11 RP, but I believe these were regional and I didn’t get them. Both the monthly and weekly deals are a limit of 4 rewards.

hi brenda, quick question I live in california helping my friend that lives in salem..if i mail her coupons from here will they wrk up there…also what about blogs from cali with links to coupons?

Reply

Brenda December 9, 2012 at 8:07 pm

As long as they are manufacturer coupons they should work just fine. She should be fine using links on other blogs as well. I read and use information from blogs on the east coast all the time.

Reply

dee December 9, 2012 at 8:23 pm

I think it just depends on what region the sale is for…do you follow I heart rite aid?? she told me about this blog so I can help her out, but I’m trying to see if theres an easier one for salem deals?

Brenda December 10, 2012 at 3:34 am

I’m not sure of any blogs that are specific to the Salem area, but these deals should work fine for her. Rite Aid does have regional deals occasionally so she should double check her local ad before making her purchases.
This is my favorite blog for Rite Aid deals. Melody posts weekly match ups early (Friday) for the coming week which includes possible deal scenarios and posts updates through out the week. Other people are good at reporting unadvertised deals they have found and other tips in the comment section.

Howard December 10, 2012 at 12:28 pm

I’d feel guilty about seeing other blogs, haha.
I barely have enough time to peruse this one daily, but I do. No wonder why my house is so dirty…….

I’m in Salem and Melodys match-ups work for me. Some of the coupons she mentions are in the Oregonian and not the statesman. Or higher value in the Oregonian for some coupons.

Went to two Tigard RA stores this afternoon. Neither one had any Pears or Calgon soaps left. One had only 1 Dual Action Ricola, the other had 3, so I picked up two and paid $1.50, got $3 UPs. Thanks! (Used two 75-cent Dual Action cpns from 11-11 newspaper, they expire today)

Melody: did you know that the SCR program ends this month? I picked up the new SCR circular today and saw a notice that the program will end 1-1-13. I expected this a long time ago, considering Walgreens dropped their rebate program and the RA monthly SCR list kept getting smaller. Obviously it’s a big expense for them, and they can get better return visits by offering the UPs instead.

I had no idea, thanks for the heads up! Honestly, makes my job easier but will make for a few less double-dipping deals.

Am I able to go back and still watch the November videos for the coupon deals?

The beauty bars were long gone at ours. We did get the 2 Gud products $5 +up back deal. There was a tag coupon for $3/2 at checkout plus they were 25% off. With no card discount came to $1.24 each and we have a $3 coupon on any Gud product for next time.

Tried two RAs today in Tigard area. One had only one Calgon bars left, the other didn’t sell them. Will try later in the week while I’m cruising around town.

Hillsboro was out of the calgon bars too-but the tag was by that too-so it was included. Also noticed the bath salts were inexpensive also-so would be a good deal if you want them.

The $1 Calgon cpn states “full size bath and body product”. Not sure if a bar of soap qualifies, but I think it will work.

Don’t see the Yardley $1 cpn in the 11-18 Oregonian SS. I did get one from Mom’s Florida SS, but I need 2 to do this deal.
Also, Prevacid has a rewards program that ends soon. Buy any size package, go to http://www.prevacid24hr.com/perks/ and sign up. You will get a $3 off cpn and a form to complete and mail in with your proofs of purchase to get a free offer for various products/services. The program ends 12-15 (purchase date) and they must receive your mail-in by 1-2-13. I got a free Hilton hotel night earlier this year (they no longer offer it). Must mail request within 14 days of purchase.

Brenda December 8, 2012 at 5:58 pm

Apparently, Yardley doesn’t think we need their soap as much as the Floridians do.
I hadn’t heard very much about Prevacid’s reward program, too bad their ending it.

Not familiar with shopping at Rite Aid. Can anyone tell me..so could you take the Calgon and Healing Gardens pay the 2 something get the 4 in ups, go back the next day buy the same deal again using the $4 ups, getting something else with the leftover that also had +ups reward, get both rewards and just do that all week?

Reply

Dianne December 8, 2012 at 11:41 am

The Calgon deal is a limit 2 so you could do it the second day but that’s it, well you could do it but you won’t get the $4.00 +Up Reward.

Howard December 8, 2012 at 11:54 am

There are limits to how many UPs you can earn per offer, stated in small print in the Sunday ad. But yes, you can go back the next day and use the UPs from the prior day, as long as you don’t exceed the stated limit.

I saw the Reach Toothbrushes in SavingStar but they are sold out…..wish I had gotten that one earlier

Brenda December 8, 2012 at 12:02 am

Thanks for the awesome match-ups, Melody!
Looks like a great week with lots of good deals!
There’s a $1/2 Reach toothbrush Saving Star coupon which will bring the total down to .50 each.
Check your stash for Gud coupons, I have a couple $1.50/1 coupons that were included in a free sample.
Also, there were $1.50/2 Annie Chun’s blinkie coupons available recently ( I found them at Safeway) that will make them .99 each.

Melody December 8, 2012 at 6:20 am

Thanks Brenda! I don’t have a Reach Saving Star coupon, just a GUM coupon. Is it an older one maybe?

Reply

Brenda December 8, 2012 at 5:48 pm

It probably is an older one, expires on 12/31.
It could have “sold out” as well. I’m not sure how the sold out feature works, but I think it’s like the other programs, if you have it loaded to your account you can use it but it disappears for everyone else.

Kellogg’s Family Rewards coupon has increased from 100 points (for $1.50 coupon) to 1000 points (for the same coupon) so is no longer doable with “ordinary” numbers of points.

Reply

Brenda December 8, 2012 at 12:04 am

Darn, that figures. I have been saving my points and haven’t printed any coupons yet. Thanks for the update!

Glen December 8, 2012 at 2:03 pm

10x increase:( doesn’t seem worth it now.
