Thank you, thank you for this site! I currently have around 800 points. I figured out this evening that I have spent about $120 out of pocket at Rite Aid including the $35 I paid for Sunday Newspapers since January 1. I added up just the vitamins, food staples, diapers and toilet paper (no cosmetics, shampoos, etc.) and after sale prices and coupons they totaled around $120. So I have gotten all the things I need at a discount plus another $500-$600 or so in other things. Our budget is very happy and so am I. Thank you!!

Thank you for taking the time to leave this comment, so excited for you! Rite Aid is such an amazing place to save money if you understand their rewards programs and how to shop, I’ve been super grateful for all the money I’ve saved there in the last few years. Thanks for sharing!

Here’s a possible deal for John Freida Hair Color. Earlier in the week I got an email coupon for $5 off the Hair Color Foam which works perfectly with the current sale of Spend $10, receive $3 UpR. I went in and did the deal today which rang up at $10.39 (20% discount) used the $5 coupon and received a $3 UpR. Also, it will count towards the monthly Buy More, Save More promo! Not everyone receives the same coupons in their emails (not sure how they figure that out) but it might be worth looking into if you want some cheap hair color!

It looks like the Axe body spray is $2 up on $12 purchase and not for each item. I did leave a message with the online customer service. Hopefully they correct it since it is not written in the ad or on the sign in store that you have to spend $12 to get $2 up

If the skintimate and the Colgate are tracking then I didn’t get credit for my rain check for culturelle. I bought 1 Almay item $6.39, 4 colgates, 4 skintimates, ge lightbulb and the Keri lotion from last week and have $45 something towards my total. The culturelle would have been $24.99, the raincheck was from a few weeks ago when it was $16 with a $16 up. Sad face. Now there’s even more pressure to have stuff be in stock!

Jen,
Not sure about the others, but the Colgate variety that is on sale this week is not part of the Buy More, Save More Promo so it won’t show in your tracking total.
Another thing to consider is to double check your receipt. Did the Culturelle and Keri ring up at 0, or did they take the raincheck discount off later in the receipt? If the cashier took the discount off as she rang it up it won’t add to your total.
It’s so frustrating to try and figure out what is tracking and what is not!

I just looked up the master list of what counts for the Buy More, Save More Promo (go here to see it: http://www.ra50.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/RiteAid_Sale_ProductList_2.pdf
Here are several more this week that the ad didn’t indicate counts: -colgate, tresemme, ocean spray, M&M (but not kisses it looks like), sharpies (month long +UP), Secret, & Huggies.

Thanks,Char, I actually still had those 2 sections saved. 2 of them. I just got a rotten cold, so good timing!

ick. Well at least you don’t have to pay full price for any OTC remedies you need. Feel better soon!

Thanks for the good wishes. I got 2 Sucrets today essentially for free, and the 59-cent Zyrtec. Stopped at Walgreens first to get a raincheck on the Poise wipes and forgot to look for the Zyr cpn. BTW, Kaiser pharmacies sell generic Zyrtec in 30-count bottles for a pretty low price, and non-members can buy there, too. Can’t recall the price–we bought it a long time ago–but it’s way cheaper than name brand.

I had a pleasant surprise today when I went to buy the V8 which were 2/$5, I used the -1/2 coupon, got back a $1 up and surprise, it printed a $1.50 catalina!!! Made them .75 each. I went right back in and did it again since my store has very limited products. My husband drinks V8 every morning, so we go through it.

The axes body spray and the others listed for 25% off with $2+UP is actually buy $12 get $2+UP. There are signs up in the store saying the ad was wrong. I was so bummed. I purchased 3 this morning expecting to get (3) $2+UPs and instead was 12 cents away from getting even one. If they had only been 4 cents more each. :-) Oh well.

Reply

blah February 11, 2013 at 6:29 pm

I bought 3 as well getting only 1 $2 up. I left a complaint online for customer service. You can too.

Today I had a cashier/manager pull out a notice of some sort that had details of the numbers that are on coupons. She instructed the other cashier that they should make copies of this notice and take it home to study. She then proceeded to tell me that she couldn’t take the iaq and the $1/1 coupon for the GE Lightbulb for reimbursement reasons. Also I had a RA coupon for $2/2 Frizz Ease products that I was going to use with the $3/2 manufacturer coupon and was told that I couldn’t use both due to the numbers on the coupons (even though one was RA only).
I had +UPs to spend and was getting more +UP’s back so I splurged and got the items anyways and went to a different store and got another 2 Frizz Ease products and was successfully able to use 2 coupons just like the coupon rules say.
Seems like this particular manager is good at finding ways to get around taking coupons regardless of what their rules say.

The info should have said that manufactures coupons UPC start with a 5 ! Once in a very long while there is a coupon in the ad that truly is a manu coupon but I just double checked and the lightbulb one is NOT. Rite Aid is confusing as they label some of their store coupons-Manu, but this is how you tell for sure.

Nice quick trip to King City RA this morning, and none of those “nasty” couponers were there to compete with!
4 Edge gels (sorry, the last 4) at $2.79 ea with 20% discount
2 Colgate Max pastes @ $3.19 ea with 20% discount
2 Renuzit fresh accents for $2.79 (BOGO deal)
Used 2 Edge BOGO cpns (didn’t scan; cashier forced them), 1 $2/2 Edge, 2 $.50 Colgate cpns, $2/2 Renuzit. Paid $9.75 (less $6 in UPs from last week) and got $14 in new UPs.
The Edge ($11.16) and Renuzit ($2.79) counted toward the $100 anniversary deal; I’m up to $41.09 without really trying. It’s a short month; only 2 weekly ads left till the $100 deal expires 3-2. A few RA experts will see me through the process, I am sure!

If you factor in an extra 20% off-from the $100 deal, the charmin is good= about $4 each- have to buy 3 to get the savings star $5 rebate, but that is a lot towards the $100. Also it has been some time since a good TP sale !
And if you still have coupons-the GE lightbulbs (free) and speed stick-again with the extra 20%= free.
Lucky you finding Edge-I went early this afternoon and they were all out. I see there are more coupons in this week’s inserts-so maybe when they restock (maybe :-)

So the kid wants me to find her some Dove mousse for cheap and I need to know if anyone knows whether or not the Dove styling products are on sale this week? I see that Dove Hair Care items are $7/2 this week with a $2+UP but does that include the mousse/hair styling items?

Reply

Howard February 10, 2013 at 4:28 pm

Should be if it’s in the 7 to 12 oz range. If not, try chocolate mousse.

Just added a $2 Zyrtec coupon that turns the scenario into a moneymaker, be sure to print before shopping tomorrow!

Reply

Lai February 9, 2013 at 8:52 pm

The coupon says excludes trail size. The Zrytec on sale is a 5 count only. Is that a trial size?

Reply

Melody February 9, 2013 at 9:27 pm

Hmmm. I hadn’t printed it yet. The 5-ct may be considered trial size, so be prepared for your store to not take it. I’m not 100% sure though. Thanks for the update!

Reply

Brenda February 10, 2013 at 2:22 am

This will probably be up to what the individual stores/cashiers say and what you feel comfortable with. Some people are saying that the 5 count is not considered trial size because there are 2 count packets available. However, I scoured the 2 stores near me and the smallest size they have are the 5 count.

Spent about 10 minutes jumping thru various hoops and signing up for Zyrtec club. However, the system would not let me log in and get to the coupon page; tried several times. I did get an email from Zyrtec accepting me, so I don’t know what their issue is. I even clicked on the forgot password link and nothing happened. I did see the Terms and Conditions which allow you to get one $2 cpn every 30 days.

Reply

Lai February 10, 2013 at 2:38 pm

Howard…not I did exactly what you did and got 2 coupons printed just fine. Try it again w/ maybe another internet browser?

Reply

Howard February 10, 2013 at 4:26 pm

Thanks, I might try that tomorrow before I return to RA.

Reply

Brenda February 10, 2013 at 7:13 pm

Not sure if you’re shopping much at Walgreens these days, but the stores over here have $3 Zyrtec tearpad coupons located by the product on the shelf and on a few endcaps as well. Sounds like it might be easier than figuring out how to print the other coupon.
FYI- the Zyrtec will ring up at $5.59 with your 20% discount, so even without the coupon it’s a great deal!

Jen February 9, 2013 at 3:41 pm

Early last week when I purchased items for the “buy more save more” promotion, it didn’t track on my receipt. Sounded like others had the same issue. Does anyone know if it’s tracking now?

Reply

Melody February 9, 2013 at 3:50 pm

I went this morning to use my BOGO Clear Hair Care coupon and it tracked perfectly!

Reply

Renee February 9, 2013 at 4:25 pm

Mine is tracking and they did add back in everything I bought on Sunday that did not track. They claim on their Facebook page that they did that for everyone, hope they did!! It was a Rite Aid problem, they set their computers to start tracking on Monday, not Sunday. and they rushed to fix it.

Reply

Blythe February 10, 2013 at 7:54 am

I had the same problem. I called the 1800 number and they are adding it to my total. So it should be cleared up.

So now I’m wondering if the Colgate Max Toothpaste purchases would count towards the Monthly +UP buy $12 or more on select Colgate items.
I’d like to get $12+UP for buying 4 of the toothpastes and get $5+UP for spending $12.

Reply

Brenda February 10, 2013 at 2:27 am

I don’t think so, Janene. The monthly signs were not posted under this variety at my local stores. We will just have to wait and see, sure would be awesome if it worked out that way!

Howard,
I think she’s referring to the Colgate monthly UpR deal (Buy $12, get $5 UpR), not the Buy More, Save More Promo.

Brenda February 10, 2013 at 7:20 pm

Janene,
Bought my 4 toothpastes this afternoon and did not get the monthly UpR or anything tracking for it.

Try going to your shopping list in the iBotta app — it should list the available stores. I’m seeing Rite Aid & Safeway on my iphone….

Reply

Donita February 9, 2013 at 10:20 am

The deals for rite aid sometimes list ibotta but the app I have on my iPad do not list rite aid or Safeway as stores I can redeem. Does anyone know why?

Reply

Carol from the sunny side of the state February 9, 2013 at 12:53 pm

Some stores (Rite Aid) is not available on the iPad. If you go to the ibotta website it will list the stores available with an iPad.

A couple weeks ago Melody tipped us off about the Feb 10 sale on Edge and Skintimate. There were BOGO cpns on Edge at coupons.com which now appear to be NLA. I believe it is RA’s policy to allow a cents-off cpn with a BOGO cpn (although rumor has it that is changed), so it may be possible to buy 2 and use both the BOGO cpn and the $1/1 cpn in Sunday’s SS. (Discuss among yourselves and please express your opinion here.) This looks like a moneymaker after cpns and wellness discount.

Reply

Melody February 9, 2013 at 6:44 am

As far as their policy is still written, you should definitely be able to combine the two! This is definitely one that is left to the interpretation of the individual store, so it’s possible your store may not allow it. Worth a shot if you printed the BOGO coupons!

Reply

Janene Jones February 9, 2013 at 9:13 am

I printed up that BOGO coupon too even though all I could get was the Edge. Anywho….what about using the BOGO with the $2/2 mq?

Reply

Melody February 9, 2013 at 10:09 am

Not if you are only buying two items. The bogo coupon will attach to one item and the $2/2 would try to attach to both items. You could only use the $1/1 coupon and bogo coupon together.

Janene Jones February 9, 2013 at 10:13 am

Ahhh….that’s why the scrubbing bubbles dealio that I had tried didn’t work

charolyn February 9, 2013 at 10:20 am

Although it would work if you buy 4-as there would be 2 you are paying for-if you use two BOGO. 3 you pay for if you use one BOGO (so could-at least in theory then use one $2/2 and one $1/1 with the BOGO). This +up offer has a limit of 4-so would work (beware -in the future some have 2, so in that case wouldn’t ).

charolyn February 9, 2013 at 10:21 am

I don’t have the BOGO-but am happy with free (with the 20% discount) & the $2/2 coupon! Thanks Melody for all your work:-)

Janene Jones February 9, 2013 at 10:31 am

ok so if I buy 3 of the Edge shaving gels
Use a BOGO
Use a $2/2
I would pay $3.60 oop and get $6 +UP back correct?

I have the Gold Discount and that is how I came up with $3.60

charolyn February 9, 2013 at 11:10 am

That sounds about right to me-(not totally sure what the price is) & should work with the coupons (I would double check to make sure your store will do it).

Janene Jones February 9, 2013 at 11:18 am

Thanx, sounds like a good deal for the budget I’ve got to work with….now if only there’s some available when I go shopping tomorrow

How February 10, 2013 at 6:59 am

Janene, why would you buy 3 and use the BOGO and $2/2 cpn, when you can buy 4 and use the same cpns and pay the same price, and get four $2 UPs instead of three?

Janene Jones February 10, 2013 at 12:00 pm

I wasn’t able to get 4 of the gels :-( but I tried thanx How
