Thanks to a suggestion from super shopper/reader Brenda and some foresight and perseverance on my part, I pulled off the following today:
Bought 2 ProGlide Power razors, $5.99 each (raincheck from December when they were $9.99 with $4 UP). Bought two Simply Venus disposables (B1G1@50% from current ad), $7.99/$3.99. Used two $10 off on ProGlide razor/Gillette disposable cpns and two $2/1 Venus disposable cpns. Turned out to be free with 4-cent profit. Also got 4 Pears soaps (raincheck again from Dec.) for 29 cents per box. Total out of pocket $1.12.

Brenda January 11, 2013 at 10:41 pm

Good job on the rainchecks, I always forget to ask for them. Sounds like it was worth the wait!

Here’s another monthly moneymaking deal that doesn’t require any coupons!
Sharpie Pens (2 pack) are BOGO this week and have a monthly $2 UpR printing on each one.
Buy 2 = $3.19, receive 2 $2 UpR
The limit for the monthly UpR is 4 and runs through 1/26. This deal includes other brands, one of which is Art Skills but I’m not sure of any others.

Thanks Brenda-even though I am a super Rite Aid shopper & should know better-I looked at that, but was thinking I would only get 1 +up, so just a fair deal-Yes this is a great deal!! Hopefully they will still have some left.

Reply

Brenda January 11, 2013 at 10:45 pm

Charolyn,
I wasn’t sure I would get 2 when I did the deal, but really needed some new markers for my freezer meals so decided to take a chance! I was shocked to find the store I shopped at had several spots of the Sharpies in the middle of the week, remember to check endcaps!

Reply

charolyn January 10, 2013 at 10:24 pm

I did the: Bath and Skin Care promotion: Spend $30, Get 10 +UP today & can verify-on the group that didn’t indicate if they are part of the buy more-save more January +up that bandaids & visine do apply-Bengay and neosporin essential cream does not (rats)-but I did see a sign by one of the essential items that did-think it was the itch type.
Also noted the baby aveeno had signs by it for this (didn’t look at other types of Aveeno products).

Did anyone get the KY $5/1 coupon from SS 1/6? I’m in Eugene & searched through all of my register guard inserts but couldn’t find it & Walmart has it price cut for $14.97 right now which would make it a .03 moneymaker after the $5/1 & $10 rebate.

Reply

Brenda January 10, 2013 at 9:07 pm

Chelsea,
It came in the Oregonian, do you have access to a copy?
If you don’t, I’d be willing to send you the one I have.

Reply

Chelsea January 11, 2013 at 9:05 pm

Thanks Brenda,
yes I was able to track down a copy of the Oregonian and was able to find it in there. Thanks again, happy couponing!

charolyn January 8, 2013 at 11:19 pm

Just noticed there is also a Viactiv VV ($1) and a $1.50 in the 1/6 insert.
Also saw on the load2card $1 off J&J baby oil.
Does anyone know -is the load2card a store or manu coupon?

Reply

Brenda January 9, 2013 at 12:32 am

Honestly Charolyn, the Load2Card coupons confuse me.
I think they probably are manufacturer coupons. However, there have been a few times when I have forgotten that I loaded a coupon and used a paper coupon and they both come off. My guess is they are like the e-coupons that the grocery stores have. When they first rolled out their programs you could use both of them together until they fixed their programs to allow only 1.

Reply

charolyn January 10, 2013 at 10:18 pm

They do both work-but I am wondering if I should do it. I wish they would spell things out better for us couponers-that want to do the right thing!

Meghan January 8, 2013 at 10:12 am

My ibotta deal for Neosporian does not include the Essentials trial pack. When I scanned the bar code it says wrong item for offer. Anyone else having this problem? I double checked the offer on ibotta and it says any size ointment or cream…..

Reply

Beth January 9, 2013 at 11:39 am

Yes I had this problem. I think it is because it is specifically for ointment and cream, and since the essentials pack is more than one? That’s the only thing I can come up with. I was majorly bummed because this was the first time I was able to actually use Ibotta, and it didn’t work!

Nikki January 6, 2013 at 10:06 pm

A favorite find of mine today was the Visine eye drops. Rite aid has all Visine products 40% off and today’s paper had coupon turning a couple Visine lines into BOGO.

Reply

charolyn January 6, 2013 at 9:12 pm

On the Trident gum-some types were 18 count (look closely)-which the $1/3 coupon is for-from 1/6 SS =$1/3.

Reply

Brenda January 6, 2013 at 9:31 pm

Great tip Charolyn, I did not realize the coupon was only good on the 18 count. Good deal to add to your Buy More,Save More promotion total.

Reply

Sara January 6, 2013 at 3:57 pm

I just went to my local Rite-Aid in Pasco, WA and used four of the new Finish Dishwashing coupons ($2.15 off one) on top of the BOGO deal and spent $8.00 and got the $3.00 in UP Rewards. Awesome deal!!

Reply

charolyn January 6, 2013 at 6:23 pm

You lucked out-that isn’t Rite Aid’s policy to use 2 coupons on a BOGO. They will use 1 on each BOGO.

Reply

Barbara January 6, 2013 at 6:30 pm

Just be careful here. Their coupon policy only allows 1 coupon to be used on a B1G1 sale.

Reply

Mary January 6, 2013 at 10:54 pm

The current Rite-Aid coupon policy does not state anything about only using one coupon in a BOGO sale. You can only use 1 BOGO coupon on a BOGO sale item… maybe that’s the confusion. But otherwise, my Rite-Aid regularly accepts 2 coupons for 2 items in a BOGO sale.

Reply

Melody January 7, 2013 at 6:29 am

Actually, Barbara and Charolyn are right. Their policy does state you can only use one coupon per BOGO promo, here’s the wording:

A customer can use one “cents off” coupon (a coupon of fixed value such as $.50, $1.25, etc.) in conjunction with the item they are purchasing on a Buy One, Get One Free promotion (or with a Buy One, Get One Free coupon), although the value of the cents off coupon cannot exceed the selling price of the item.

One “cents off” coupon per BOGO promo, some stores just may not practice this or some cashiers may not know. They changed the policy about a year or so ago, that’s why I always write the BOGO promos with one coupon used.

Miss Steph January 8, 2013 at 1:58 pm

Argh…I think this particular paragraph has caused more frustration for couponers than any other in recent memory. It actually flies in the face of common sense. Rite Aid WON’T allow you to use two coupons on two separate items during a BOGO sale (even though a store BOGO sale is just a marketer’s fancy way of saying “sales price,” and manufacturers DO allow you to use one coupon per item, and they DO reimburse the retailer accordingly; in other words, why should Rite Aid care?), but they WILL (per their own poorly-worded policy) allow you to combine a manufacturer’s BOGO coupon and a cents-off coupon, even though manufacturers typically do not want you to do this because it winds up costing them more on a per-item basis (i.e., they wind up giving two discounts on the same item/items). The fact that Rite Aid WILL allow both to be used (and, no doubt, submits both for reimbursement), seems…odd.

Brenda January 9, 2013 at 12:26 am

Totally agree, Miss Steph.
Makes no sense to me either!

Janene Jones January 6, 2013 at 10:08 am

I bought 8 Nivea Lip Balms because they rung up at $2.39 each due to the Gold Discount and used 4 of the $3/2 coupons but final cost was still money maker. Since I rollover my +Ups my oop was way less.

Reply

Brenda January 6, 2013 at 2:42 pm

Good job, Janene!
I nearly forgot to fix my scenario, one of the few times the 20% discount can work against you!

Also, there was a Nivea for Men sample available awhile ago that arrived with $1/1 shower gel coupons which would work nicely with this deal.

Reply

JHollyhock (aka Jennifer H.) January 6, 2013 at 9:09 am

Did anyone find the Nivea coupons in their inserts? I have checked three stores in Corvallis and all the papers only have 5 inserts and no Nivea coupons….

Reply

Stefany January 6, 2013 at 9:36 am

The coupons for Nivea are in the oregonian. I found them REAL SMALL in the insert with the Loreal on the front. About 2/3 thru the insert. Left side upper right corner. easy to miss. I spent ten minutes trying to find. hope this helps

Reply

JHollyhock (aka Jennifer H.) January 6, 2013 at 11:01 am

Thank you! I had them in my head as a SS and I just leafed through the red plum very quickly. Happy lady now!!

Reply

Michelle January 5, 2013 at 11:13 pm

According to the most recent Rite Aid coupon policy, you can use a “cents off” coupon with a BOGO free coupon, so you should be able to use the Stayfree $1/1 with the BOGO. Buy 2, pay $1.50 get $2 +Up.

Reply

Melody January 6, 2013 at 6:31 am

I do generally list these written that way, but it seems that every store interprets the policy differently. My local store will take both, but not all stores will. Great deal if they do!

Reply

Michelle January 6, 2013 at 9:14 am

Thanks Melody. I hate that stores do that because it seems very clear to me. Oh well!

Reply

Melody January 6, 2013 at 9:21 am

Oh trust me, I agree! It seems super clear to me as well, but I can see where there would be room for misinterpretation.

I just went through tomorrow’s 3 SS inserts twice, and I couldn’t find that mitchum coupon. Which one is it in??

Reply

Brenda January 5, 2013 at 10:50 pm

Did you get your inserts from the Oregonian? Mitchum coupons are usually regional and the Oregonian rarely gets them.

Reply

Amy January 6, 2013 at 12:51 am

I didn’t get it either.

Reply

Howard January 6, 2013 at 6:54 am

Oregonian virtually never gets Mitchum, Garnier, Physicians Formula, Revlon cpns, to name but a few.

Looks like the Neosporin Trial Pack MIR is not available anymore online. Why do they even advertise it if they are going to pull it before most people even read their newspaper?!

Melody January 5, 2013 at 9:13 pm

Lame! Is it not available in the paper either as a mail-in form? We don’t get ours until early Sunday morning.

I get the early edition of the Oregonian and there is just an advertisement directing you to the website to print the rebate. I will keep checking though, could be that they will make it available again tomorrow or later in the week.

Oh bummer!! The first day when I bought two products, it seemed like one counted and since then, not one has counted. I have wondered if it’s because the last three had free samples on them, and somehow that changes it up. Oh well, I honestly feel super blessed by the deals found at Rite Aid and feel as though I have no platform to complain, I was just curious if this was working for others! Thank you for your feedback!!

Mine didn’t count either and I got the ones with samples on them. I am sure I’ll find a way to spend what’s necessary to get the +Ups anyways.

It wouldn’t hurt to contact them to see why it didn’t count. It could be a computer error or something else and they are usually very helpful in figuring things out. I have had good luck using their chat option (during regular hours) or calling them.

I’ll have to try that! Today I bought over $30 worth of goods, 4 Listerine and 4 J&J Body Wash… only the J&J applied towards my total, the Listerine came with a smaple… darn, I should have learned to not go for the ones with samples!! They’re just not ringing up towards the $100 total. I have me receipts so I’ll have to contact them and ask, doesn’t hurt to ask!! I still love the deal I got, but would love for the full deal to come through! I’m now out $26.46 towards my $100, which is huge! … I still love Rite Aid though!

And I meant sample… lol!! Not smaple!

Brenda January 6, 2013 at 2:32 pm

Darn…I was hoping to get a smaple too!!!

Brenda January 7, 2013 at 4:20 am

Renee,
I was just going over my receipt from Sunday and noticed that the Listerine I purchased (which included a free sample!) was credited to my total for the Buy More, Save More Promo. If I were you I would definitely call, you should have received the credit.

Well, I just spent the last hour on chat… LOL!! It took a long time, but they are going to manually enter it in. Which is exciting, if it happens as they say!! Thank you for the feedback all, and Brenda, thank you for the push to try!!

Brenda January 7, 2013 at 10:17 pm

Renee,
Glad it worked out for you, even if it did take an hour!

Renee January 10, 2013 at 2:55 pm

Sadly it didn’t go through, argh! I called again, had to go through the whole thing again… I called to make sure it went through. I’m worried about making more purchases and wondering is my new total is counting my new purchases, my old purchases that they had to manually added in, or both, so I wanted to have them tell me my total and they had not changed a thing. The women I chatted with today said she will get the changes in… ARGH! I love Rite Aid, this was frustrating though! Part of my love is for the love the game :) how can I keep my +UP rewards on my card high enough so that I only pay tax or little out of pocket all while adding more to my card… which still happens, but the anniversay promo made it all the more interesting… hope it works this time :) I still love Rite Aid though, it’s all a computer error and the poor people working their have rules to follow too to make sure they don’t add extra $ to someone’s card.

Brenda January 10, 2013 at 3:57 pm

What a mess, Renee! Good for you for sticking with it and following through. Also, a good reminder about Rite Aid employees, it’s been awhile since I worked retail but I’m still sympathetic towards them!

Renee January 5, 2013 at 3:18 pm

I was curious, is anyone else buying Pantene products this week, but it’s not counting towards the 50th Anniversary promotion of spend $100 on certain products get $20 back? Even in their ad this week, Pantene doesn’t have the $ icon next to it, yet, it’s listed on their website as a participating brand… I’m lost?! I’ve bought $14 worth of pantene the past week and would love for that to go towards my total spent, but every time I shop there, the pantene is not added to my total.

Did count for me-I got $14 worth also & it all counted. I got mouse products and one shampoo.

Howard January 6, 2013 at 6:53 am

I’m sure your pet “mouse” will love the Pantene!

I have a similar problem with Nivea & ocean spray today. I should have had $25 towards it and it only shows $17.50.

Sherry, it’s up to you, I did the live chat and got it worked out. They’ll need your receipt info, such as the store #, trans #, date and time. It honestly took a long time, but I felt worth it for the $26+ they didn’t credit me… I’m nervous to keep trying, lol, with my planned purchases today!

Sherry January 10, 2013 at 10:32 pm

Ill try that thanks! I’m doing it again so it’s worth it for sure!

Re RA omeprazole and lansoprazole (generic Prilosec and Prevacid): about 2 weeks ago I bought the 42-ct for $8.39 (after $10 in-ad cpn and wellness 20% discount) and was pleasantly surprised to find a code on my receipt for a free movie ticket worth up to $12. I entered it and printed it out; it’s valid till 11-30-13 and includes Regal. But no guarantee it is still going to appear now. The only limit on the codes was “one per transaction”.

DeAnn January 5, 2013 at 1:56 pm

I did this a couple months ago, and ended up with 3 free movie passes. We used them last week to go see the Hobbit. Saved me over $30 since they are good for up to $12 off a movie ticket.

When it says uy 2, Get $2 +UP Reward – limit 2 does that mean 2 of any items or 2 of each brand?

Reply

Howard January 5, 2013 at 11:25 am

It means a total of 2 UP rewards, regardless of what you buy. You can do it in one transaction or two.

Regarding this deal:

Neosporin Essentials Trial Pack on sale $12.99
Use $2/1 coupon
Submit for full mail-in rebate
FREE after coupon and rebate

The site states the $2 coupon exclude trial sizes — does that not apply to a set of trial sizes?

Howard January 5, 2013 at 11:27 am

They had this deal a few months ago, and the rebate fulfillment company subtracted the $5 cpn amt from my total. It had been listed as a $5 moneymaker but did not turn out that way. So I would forget any cpns this time around and just mail in for the full price if it’s a product you really want.

Melody January 5, 2013 at 1:11 pm

Oh shoot, that is possible that the coupon excludes the trial pack. But as Howard mentioned, you will get the full rebate back regardless, so you could just skip the coupon. The Essentials lotion is the ONLY over the counter lotion that has worked for my 2-year old’s extremely dry skin. We have been using it for about 7 or 8 months and it’s great!

Want to let you know Melody I had some cheap essentials lotion awhile back I passed on to my friend-who hadn’t found anything that worked either & she reported it was looking good! Thanks for the info also :-)
