The most important change at Rite Aid is that you can use only one $5/$20 video values coupon each month. They redid the Rite Aid UPC codes to detect when a coupon has already been used even when multiple copies are printed. This makes the $5/$25 coupons more valuable. If your Rite Aid UPC code ends in the date (a few from June still do), multiples are not detectable.

Rite Aid is puzzling and stock will be more of a problem with UP rewards. (I live in a semi-rural area with one store).

Note that the Coppertone sunscreen counts toward the spend $50, get $25 (or $30 with Wellness card) or spend $25, get $10 skincare rebate.

Also, regarding Duracell, I’m pretty sure you can get only 1 UP reward per transaction so your Duracell purchase should be split into 2 transactions to maximize UP rewards.

That’s what I thought, but then you can’t use the $5/$20 coupon — less OOP?

Whats an UP Reward?

The +UP Reward is like RR at Walgreens. The reward will print with your receipt and you can use it for your next transaction. What I don’t like about it is most of the reards say, “$1 off your next $10 or more purchase of oral products” or something like that. You need to spend more to use the reward. The ad says like, “$2 with $2 +UP Reward–you are getting it like free!”but as a matter of fact, you’ve got to make another $10 purchase to use the earned $2 reward. It is NOT like free…I think.

Yoko – There are two different kinds of +UP Rewards. There are coupons that are for $1 off $10 purchase, but there are also very specific rewards. For example, when you buy the Head & Shoulders, you will get a $2 +UP Reward that can be used on a $2 or more purchase. This is always what they look like when you buy the advertised items with +UP Rewards. I have done several.

Rite Aid has so many different programs running right now, SCR, Wellness+ and +UP Rewards. It is hard to keep them all straight, but I do my best to make it simple and clear.

I’m somewhat new to all of this, but I’m trying to figure out the Coppertone coupons for Rite-Aid. The $3/1 Rite Aid Video Values coupon says “Cannot be combined with any other offers.” Does that mean the scenario above won’t actually work if I can’t use the additional coupons? Thanks for the help!

Also Stayfree pads 16-24 ct are BOGO and paired with the Stayfree BOGO coupon in the RP 06/27 you get 2 packages free!

I have done the coopertone deal twice – $1.99 each! I have combined the Video Rewards, In-Ad coupon and $2 manufacture’s coupon (from safeway coupon book (May)). It works. Or at least my Rite Aid doesn’t mind!

Also, last week I did the toothpaste deal and got two $1 off my next $10 purchase instead of $2 off my next (any) purchase. I called Rite Aid and asked – well, how am I supposed to know if I’m going to get a deal off my next purchase or just a $1 off a $10 purchase. They have informed me that as the kinks are getting worked out with the UP rewards – there are some glitches – the toothpaste deal from last week being one of them. ALL UP rewards are supposed to be $$ of your next purchase (not $1 of specific $10 purchase.) The $1 of $10 is actually a wellness coupon not an UP reward. I have … accidentaly… found 3 glitches in the system so far (all of which have worked out great in the end for me!)

Glitch one – toothpaste deal last week – no UP reward printed – my rite aid gave me CASH back to remidy this glitch (I took home 8 free toothpastes and 5 free toothbrushes … which were packaged with the toothpaste… by rolling this deal)

LUVS diapers this week – not ringing up on sale (15.99) nor was the UP reward printing – gave me discount at the time of purchase for the $6 Up reward and $2 for the sale (as cash tendered).

(In fact in my region I was told … everything on the ad wrap (the small wrap around the bigger ad) … was not put into the computer system – thus was the reason it was not ringing up correctly! My Rite Aid manager and I have have become friends over the new UP glitches. Now when I walk in he smiles and sais hi – etc. Nice – may work out for more deals later?

Free Disani Liter with purchase of Hersey’s Bliss candy bag – apparently my Rite Aid doesn’t even carry liter size Disani’s – substituted Aquafina.

All these deals have resulted in either CASH back for me or flat discounts at the time of purchase (meaning no having UP rewards left in my pocket – thus very little out of pocket!) Yeah!

PLEASE watch your receipts and be sure you are receiving sale prices as well as actually receiving your UP rewards!

It appears the Duracell UP reward ($10 on 20+5 pack) wasn’t in our ad down in Albany/Corvallis and probably not the whole Pacific Northwest

The Duracell +UP reward was in the Portland metro Riteaid ad.

Anne-Marie June 30, 2010 at 9:53 pm

it didn’t appear in the McMinnville area add either from what i could tell.

The Venus Razors aren’t in the eastern WA ad either. They are reg price with no UP reward. Bummer dude!!!
I did happen to score the coppertone twin pack for 8.99, -$2 in ad coupon,-$3 video value coupon and $1 manu coupon. Not too shabby!

Does the Stayfree BOGOF include the Ultra Thin? It appears in the add that it might be just the regular size and the coupon to pair with it is specifically for the Ultra Thins. i was going to get a rain check but then thought maybe they weren’t both inlcluded. i should have asked but there was a line.

Anne-Marie- I bought the Stayfree unlta thin overnights today and they came up BOGO. I actually MADE a buck on these as I also had a BOGO coupon from the 6/27 RP AND a $1 Video Value coupon for Stayfree. Maybe I could have even used two of those for a $2 Money Maker!

I was told last night that the Luvs promotion was for Oregon only and not for Vancouver. Anyone in Vancouver ever have similar problems with the Oregonian ads not working here?
