My RA banana boats are priced $12.99 each, but was able to use 2 $2.00/1 coupons making 2 sunscreens $8.99 and got $10.00UPs, didnt even have the UPs listed in my ad or at the store!

I instructed the leopard and hot green headphones to get my little ones birthday. It was the sole she chosen and if your headphones arrived they were not those people she desired or I actually ordered. I couldn’t have enough time to give them returning and order an exciting new pair. She said they were ok and she uses them on daily basis. I has been disappointed that wrong thing was routed.

I wondered if anyone has tried buying the Banana Boat After sun lotion, and if it printed the $5 ups? I love this lotion and it would be a great deal if this worked. I checked my store, and it didn’t have the tag showing the up reward under the BOGO tag, so I was afraid to try it.

Reply

Brenda March 11, 2013 at 8:23 pm

My store was out so I didn’t try the Banana Boat deal.
You could purchase the after sun lotion and see if it prints the UpR, if it doesn’t you could just return it. However, I would highly recommend that you don’t use UpR’s to pay for it because it gets messy when you try and do a return after you paid using those.

My store had the tags up, I bought 2 and recd 2 $5 UPs.

Oh, sorry, I bought CoolZone sunscreen for $9.99. This is supposed to be valid on any $7.99 or higher product, right?

Thanks Brenda for the bayer coupon, just printed 2 and heading to riteaid. hope some is left to buy

Just found an awesome coupon that will work perfectly with the Bayer Products on sale this week. It’s $5/2 Bayer Products 30ct.+
It’s a manufacturer coupon so you can stack it with the $2 in-ad coupon. Depending on your store/cashier you might be able to use 2 in-ad coupons for an even better deal.
You can print the coupon twice from the link below. It appears to be associated with the Bayer reward program, but I have never participated in it and was still able to enter my information in and print the coupon (need your wellness card number).

I think it’s the same cpn I got last week in a Bayer Rewards email. Didn’t print it, but it’s from coupons.com.

Brenda March 11, 2013 at 8:40 pm

Here’s the deal I did today using the new $5/2 Bayer coupon.
Buy 2 Aleve 50 count $7.49 ($5.99 with the 20% discount) = $11.98
Use $5/2 Manufacturer coupon (link posted above)
Use 2 $2 In-Ad Coupons
=$2.98 Receive 2 $1 UpR’s
Using 2 In-Ad Coupons will definitely depend on your cashier/store. I always ask before I do the transaction and usually have no issues.
My sister found an even better deal buying aspirin. Here’s what she did.
Buy 2 Bayer Aspirin 50 count $5.49 ($4.39 with the 20% discount)
Use $5/2 coupon and 2 $2 In Ad coupons = 0 (cashier should price adjust the coupon so you don’t receive the .22 overage)
Receive 2 $1 UpR’s.
There’s other products included on the coupons as well, which I’m sure will make for other good deals.

I posted this above-but am repeating so it doesn’t get missed:
The Whoppers mini robin eggs are a MM (when the +up prints out correctly)-10 oz bags-note there is a larger size also. Are part of the 2/2.00 easter candy sale-with $1+up. Use the $2/3 coupon (buy 6-limit of 4 on this +up). =$1MM!!

Yes one of my favorites too-I did hesitate a bit-but when I saw it was a money maker… (can’t pass that up). I will need to share them with friends soon & get them out of my house :-) Of course I will eat a fair share too-don’t want to be seeming to be better than I am :-)

Tried this in Richland, WA yesterday — did NOT work. Items rang up at 1.59 and no up rewards printed. Cashier could not find it in the ad and there were no signs on the shelves.

Reply

Megan March 10, 2013 at 6:39 pm

The hydrogen peroxide deal doesn’t work :( . You have to buy $10 in qualifying first aid products to get the $5 up.

Reply

Howard March 10, 2013 at 8:18 pm

Yes, this has been pointed out several times since yesterday. I read it last night and decided not to even try this deal at all. Guess I won’t be bleaching my hair anytime soon.

I haven’t seen an actual printed ad, but the on-line ad does not show the “Pepsi and Pepsi products (2 liter) on sale $.99.” Does anyone know whether it’s included in the printed ad for our region?

Reply

Brenda March 10, 2013 at 7:32 pm

Not sure what region you are in Annye, but the Pepsi sale is in both print ads that I have.
The Oregonian (page 12, bottom right corner)
The Columbian (page 10, bottom right corner)
If you don’t live in the metro area you definitely will want to double check your paper ads at the store, I have been seeing a lot more regional sales lately.

Reply

Annye March 11, 2013 at 11:41 am

Thanks, Brenda! I’m in the Salem, Oregon, area, and have my fingers (mentally) crossed that the sale will reach down here.

There is a Wellness + Diabetes program running from 1-2 to 4-2. Buy $50 in products, get $10 UP. You must register for this and wait a few days for acknowledgment of your registration. I would think that some of the Centrum and Nature Made products in this week’s matchups (above) might also qualify for the $10/$50 UP in addition to the weekly and monthly UPs listed. Here’s a link to the diabetes program items:

I *think* it’s just a certain vitamin d. I’ve gotten quite a few vitamins over the last month or two and I’m pretty sure those were the only ones to track. The most recent list of items came out in the fall, but I don’t know how frequently it changes. Not often I know.
Also, if you signed up for the diabetes thing before, I’m pretty sure you’re still signed up. But it couldn’t hurt if you’re unsure to resign up at the register.

Howard March 10, 2013 at 2:17 pm

Oh, my, it took at least 10 minutes, manager’s intervention, five checkouts at 3 registers (4 were voided), because I noticed that my total was about $10.25 higher than it should have been. The Arm & Hammer and Banana Boat (online $1/1) cpns kept changing the total. Mgr had to input them manually. All’s well that ends well:
2 Banana Boats ($7.99 after BOGO and two $1/1 cpns)
2 A&H liquid soaps ($4.25 after sale price and $.75/2 cpn)
2 chocolate Chex Mixes ($1.80 after sale and two $.60 cpns)
2 22-oz RA baby powders ($5.98 after BOGO 50%)
Total $20.02, used $20 UP from Feb anniversary promo, paid two cents cash and rec’d $13 in new UPs (two $5 Banana Boat, $1 Chex, $2 detergent).

Reply

kris March 10, 2013 at 3:42 pm

how did you use 2 coupons on the banana boat BOGO?

Reply

Howard March 10, 2013 at 8:16 pm

Not sure why, except I printed two, planning to buy 4 bottles, but they had only two at $9.99. I handed in the 2 cpns without even thinking about it (usually I preach against doing so). They both scanned, but also caused a major headache along with the Arm & Hammer cpn.

Reply

charolyn March 10, 2013 at 8:38 pm

Glad to hear the updates & I am going to check my total also.
I did have issues today also -not getting +ups I expected on the Peeps and the whoppers mini robin eggs-also they didn’t ring up at the sale prices.
=$1MM!!

Forgot also didn’t get my Arm & Hammer +up-but noticed later that is because they didn’t ring up one of them (that has happened to me before-so keep an eye on things when they are
ringing up!). So will take it back-ring it up and then get my +up.

The first aid is buy $10 get $5 UP even though it isn’t posted! Luckily my cashier told me, so I grabbed a few more items to have enough $$. Still a great deal with B1G1 and the UP rewards. It doesn’t seem like my load2card coupons ever come off, anybody else have trouble????

Reply

Howard March 10, 2013 at 2:27 pm

I haven’t tried these, but other readers have aired complaints like yours.

Reply

charolyn March 10, 2013 at 6:35 pm

Yes my store had a sign that it was advertised incorrectly.
What did you have the load2card coupon for? I have used these in the past with no problems-but Brenda just said a few days ago she has had problems with them too.

There was talk of a $3/2 coupon for the banana boat. Did anyone find this coupon? I did not see it in my quick glance through the Oregonian but maybe it was in the Statesman or some other paper?

Howard March 10, 2013 at 2:09 pm

Not in the Oregonian, and as I predicted, nary a $2 hangtag at my RA today.

Did anyone else have issues with rite aid today? The banana boat coupons actually ADDED to my total, my friends total and to another customer, I actually used a $1 coupon and $1.50 was added to the total. Also the rite aid brand first aid products, bought two neosporin (RA brand) and no up reward printed.

Michelle March 10, 2013 at 10:37 am

Yes the same thing happened to me today and last week! Last week the Pantene coupon added 3.25 to my total. Today the banana boat took off the coupon but then added back the price of the free bottle. The cashier noticed it and was very surprised, but fixed it for me. I think the first aid is buy $10 get $5 Up.

Howard March 10, 2013 at 2:06 pm

Oh, me too. I was just about to post this info for others. See below.

Coco March 10, 2013 at 2:12 pm

The transaction I did went through without a hitch – used one $1 off internet printable and got the two $5 ups. Maybe they fixed the problem.

This happened to me when I was buying the Arm & Hammer laundry soap. The cashier and manager couldn’t figure out why it was happening, but punched things in manually. Might get missed if you were buying several items. Always good to check the receipt.

Michelle March 10, 2013 at 7:51 am

The banana boat limit is four. Just did it this morning.

It looks like the first aid deal is ‘too good to be true’. From what I am hearing it is spend $10 to get the $5 up.

Reply

Brenda March 9, 2013 at 10:54 pm

Yup! I went in tonight to investigate and the signs were already posted. Spend $10, give $5 UpR. Should still be able to find decent deals if you’re in need of first aid supplies.

There seems to have been a lot of laundry detergent specials recently. If anyone has too much, laundry detergent is one of the items on “My Father’s House” wish list this month. My Father’s House is a family shelter that doesn’t receive any government funds and is run excellently.

Where is it located? And good point for any area to think about when we get too much-and watch expiration dates so we aren’t wasteful.

Reply

charolyn March 9, 2013 at 6:01 pm

I have been guilty of missing expiration dates-so that is why I mention it :-)

Reply

Marissa March 9, 2013 at 7:49 pm

It’s in Gresham. 172nd and Powell I believe.
I agree with Ivybsch, it’s a wonderful family shelter.

Reply

JHollyhock March 10, 2013 at 12:25 pm

Where do we find the expiration date? I looked at all my laundry detergent and I didn’t see anything that looked remotely like a date…

Reply

Howard March 10, 2013 at 2:01 pm

Not sure, but she may have been referring to coupon expiration dates.

Miss Steph March 10, 2013 at 2:18 pm

I think she’s talking about donating items in general to the shelter, especially those things that might expire otherwise.

Brenda March 9, 2013 at 11:06 pm

Thank you for the reminder, ivybsch!
If people don’t live in the area I would encourage them to check in with their local charities. Laundry supplies are one the items that are often forgotten and can be too expensive for many families to purchase. Toliet paper is another item that is always needed as well.

Reply

charolyn March 10, 2013 at 6:38 pm

Yes Miss Steph I mean expiration dates on items & donating in general-don’t think detergent has expiration date-but toothpaste does and of course food/medicines.

Saw at my rite aid the snapware had a monthly up “Buy $15 get a $5 up reward.” If you buy six of the smaller containers priced at $2.61 your total will $15.66. Minus 6 $2 off coupons for oop total of 3.66, get a $5 up reward for a moneymaker.
Last time these were on sale my hubby convinced me we had enough. Maybe he’ll let me buy more now. :)

Thank you so much! Lots of work, but lots of fun putting together the deals.

Lai March 9, 2013 at 8:46 am

I want to say their buy one get one free deals with up rewards are too good to be true. Last month they had the BOGO deal for the colgate toothpaste and the spend $12 get $5 up reward promo. I bought it but the amount for the free item did not track. So ended up returning them.

Reply

Renee March 9, 2013 at 9:26 am

From what I have found, the free items never track towards the total, unless it’s a BOGO manufacture coupon. What tracks is your cost after Rite Aid rewards discounts, but before coupons.

Reply

Melody March 9, 2013 at 11:45 am

If you’re talking about the Nature Made scenario, it should work as I listed. I didn’t count the free item towards the total needed, as that never tracks. Unless like Renee said, it is a BOGO manufacturer coupon.

Lai March 9, 2013 at 7:27 pm

Nice and thanks for the responses. That’s really good to know :)

So i was thinking of buying 8 boxes of the Mr.Clean Erasers
Use (4) $1/2 from P&G 3/3/2013
Pay $16 oop
Get $2+UP’s
Get $5 Savingstar
Final Cost=$1.12 per box or $.56 per sponge

Shopping/Couponing opinions needed from the experts

Reply

Janene March 9, 2013 at 10:24 am

Actually I’d get:
(2) $2+UP’s
$5 SavingStar
so my final cost would be:$.87 per box or $.43 per eraser/sponge

Reply

Brenda March 9, 2013 at 11:00 pm

Sounds like a good deal to me, Janene.
If you can find 8 boxes! Remember that this deal should track so if you find that one store doesn’t have enough you could always buy some and get the rest at another store.

I couldn’t find the St. Joseph’s coupons. Any help? Regional?

Reply

Renee March 9, 2013 at 9:29 am

There was a discussion about this last week and it seems to be regional. We didn’t get them here in Seattle either and I want to say that Portland didn’t get them either, I believe that is where most everyone was from, who was asking about this.

Reply

Brenda March 9, 2013 at 10:46 pm

Yeah, I didn’t find them in the Oregonian or the Columbian either.

St. Joseph aspirin deal is true. I needed to buy hyland’s teething tablets (no coupons, no rewards or so I thought last week) and those are included. Here is the details I found:

The Head to Toe promotion is a March Monthly deal wyb $30 get $20+Up (limit 2). Below is a list of participating items of the Head to Toe promotion:

Keri Lotion
Midnite
Yardley Bar Soap
St Joseph Aspirin
Sucrets Throat Lozenges
Carmex Lip Balm
Hylands Baby
Zicam
Anacin Aspirin

JHollyhock March 9, 2013 at 11:39 am

Cerave lotion is included and there is a $3 off coupon in the ad that ends today as well as a $1 ip coupon. With Gold status the cheapest item was around $11. I was in need of some arnicare gel that I was going to buy last week but couldn’t find and I am so glad I didn’t because it is included this month in the buy $30 get $20+UP. So, for $2 I got (2) Cerave lotions and (1) tube of arnicare gel (which costs $9 with Gold status. Lots of options out there! Might be fun to do a post on all the possible scenarios.
