It is my understanding that on many of the coupons it says not for resale. Does that mean the coupon is not for resale or the product. If it is the product than can these ladies get in trouble. I don’t think these people are intentionally trying to make people angry.

and another one.

I am sure these ladies read this blog.

i don’t think it is ok to do this? no wonder when many of us go to the stores the shelves are cleared…

a friend of mine was looking for garage sales today on craigs list. she called me and told me about a sale that had lots of “stockpile” stuff. I just looked it up on craigs list; this gal lives off of TV Hwy and has a whole store for sale. items that were free or money makers. this is so irritating to me. main reason is because i couldn’t get the tylenol pain reliever patches that I NEEDED because the stores (5 in the area) were out and didn’t get re-stocked before my coupons expired. she has 54 of one of the packages… really??? 54?
this is wrong in MY opinion; what do you think?

Who buys Thermacare wraps on Craigslist anyway? I mean, really? I’m going to meet some lady I don’t know at the McDonald’s parking lot to spend $2 on a Thermacare wrap? I think I’ll just buy my own.

What we (meaning 20 of us) should do is send an email saying we want to buy 10, and meet in a place that’s “near” (but not too nearby)… Not show up, and waste her gas repeatedly…. Just a selfish thought :) I get beyond irritated when I see a shelf clearer in front of me. I just want to go up to them and ask them if they could SPARE 5 bottles!! I have 2 boys who are 1 yr apart, and it’s hard enough to shop with them, let alone get out of the house in one piece! The least these people can do is leave some for others!!

Buyer beware – Do not use any RR’s when completing a transation for Renpure… I’m out $11.00 in RR’s and $2.98 cash as I used RR’s… Grr…

So my husband and I are new at couponing, but I did the RA run today. I had to go to 2 different stores because the first one had very limited selection on the Sundown vitamins and no toiletbowl cleaner and no resolve spray & wash. They only had 1 Nutranail product that was under $4. At the 2nd store I was able to get the vitamins, spray & wash, and nutranail products (BOGO & $3/2 on a $3.49 single item price). I may try another day for the toiletbowl cleaner… the 2nd store only had 1 bottle and I wasn’t sure about rainchecks with the UP rewards.

There is a limit of 1 UP on the Dial offer (soap, bodywash & lotion), so if you hadn’t bought any Dial that are part of the offer this week, you should have received (1) $1 UP with your transaction.

So, if this was your first Dial purchase of the week, you can either go back to your store and see if they will take care of it, or you can contact Customer Service by phone. I’ve heard the Customer Svc through Rite Aid is very helpful. Hope that helps!

Cassie March 24, 2011 at 2:30 pm

I bought 2 bottles of Dial lotion today that had $1 Up+ rewards but I only got a coupon for $1 at the bottom of my reciept. Should I have gotten $2 for my Up+ rewards since I bought 2 products? If so what do I do now or am I burnt?

charolyn March 21, 2011 at 3:47 pm

So I was just looking at the Lysol deal again-the monthly SCR flyer says limit one per household-but the weekly ad says limit 3 rebates. It is on the bottom where they state if the UP offer is limited-but they used the word rebate instead of UP. does anyone else know about this? Also FYI-it is buy 2-get $1 SCR.

Reply

charolyn March 21, 2011 at 11:27 am

Just worked up this scenario (took me awhile, so thought I would share it):
see back page of ad (see coupontom.com for coupons-for some reason I can’t copy this):
$10 up when you buy $40:
3 Scott TP 12 roll=$22.47-2-$2 printable, &1-$1 coupon=-$5
2 cottonelle wipes , or keenex=$4-.50 cottonelle wipes I had
4 Ukotex pads/tampons=/$14-2 of @//$2.50=-$5
-$10+UP, -$3/$15 (survey coupon from bottom of receipt offer-can use 3/month I have heard several places now).
=$16.98 OOP for 3 TP, 4 Kotex or pads & 2 wipes/kleenex
total

Reply

charolyn March 21, 2011 at 11:29 am

Opps-coupons by Ukotex should say-2 of 2/$2.50=$5.
& forget the total at the end!

Reply

Nicole March 21, 2011 at 2:09 pm

the $2 off of Scott toilet paper says AND towels… so did you buy both tp and towels. Or did the coupon go through without buying the towels???

Reply

charolyn March 21, 2011 at 3:26 pm

Oh thanks for pointing that out I totally missed it-just went by the coupontom info & didn’t read the coupon-I haven’t bought it yet.
So now it will be $2 more-just use 3 of the $1 coupons-think it is in this week’s SS.

Reply

karla March 21, 2011 at 10:47 am

Oh I really think people do resell them, in fact this weekend I stopped by the flea market in Gresham and I saw a few vendors with a lot of products like the ones we would get for free or very cheap, I even saw one that had a few boxes of the RA facial tissue for $1 ea.

jackie March 21, 2011 at 9:53 am

I was once told at Albertsons, when couponing for Electrasol detergent and (it was continuously out of stock and never restocked when I would check) that people who owned convience stores were coming in with 20 coupons and clearing the shelves upon the store opening. It’s because they were getting it cheaper than wholesale pricing and/or for free. Maybe that is a similar possibility for 60 bottles of Spray and Wash??? Just a thought.

Reply

Cindy March 24, 2011 at 2:14 pm

I heard the same from a manager at Walgreens.

Reply

karla March 21, 2011 at 12:01 am

on the sundown vitamins I think there is a $3/2 on their website after you sign up.
There was a $2/1 blink tears on one of the Albertsons booklets found by the pharmacy area. The nightguard coupon beeped but the girl that helped me put it through. Something I noticed that both of my transactions had to get manager’s approval (not zero purchase). I asked her if she new why, and she said because of coupons. Anyone else have this happened to them?

Reply

Melody March 21, 2011 at 5:34 am

Usually, if they have to manually enter a coupon in for more than $2 or $3, it required manager approval. So definitely on the Nightguard transaction! I’ve noticed if it’s just for $1 and they have to manually enter it, it doesn’t beep.

Reply

Steph Winningham March 20, 2011 at 9:24 pm

I found $4 peelies on the Blink drops tonight at my Rite aid on SE Sunnyside Rd. They were on every box in the set up on the end of the aisle. I hope you’re able to get one! Gotta love moneymakers!

I looked at Hillsboro-both places, but none to be found. Still can’t complain about free!

Reply

Kari March 25, 2011 at 9:53 pm

nothing to be found in your area because of the ladies who are clearing shelves and then selling items at garage sales… check craigs list!

I am in the NW Portland. I am in serious need of a nightguard, my old one is so yucky I stopped using it. The rate I am grinding my teeth, I’ll probably need denture before 50. Did anyone see nightguard in stock at their store? I’ve been to two RA on Sunday morning, and both were out.

Reply

Leanna March 21, 2011 at 4:29 pm

Hi Yvonne – I stopped at my RA to look for you, but unfortunately they are out of it.

I have heard that you can request a raincheck and when the item comes in, they can do some sort of special raincheck rebate receipt. This way you could still get the rebate.

I would recommend asking at your local RA about this type of receipt. Best wishes!

Reply

charolyn March 21, 2011 at 8:06 pm

This is far for you, but Hillsboro (sunset esplanade one) is also out.

Reply

Stan March 22, 2011 at 9:52 am

Yes, RA seems very flexible with Rain Checks:

RA clerk wrote me a Rain Check that pre-subtracts the $15 UP value so when it comes in the price is $4.99.

Separately, on a BOGO deal the store only had 1 on the shelf. I bought it and the clerk wrote me a Rain Check for a Free item when it comes in.

Cindy March 24, 2011 at 2:11 pm

Yvonne,

There’s a good one that I’ve used for years available on-line. I think the company is called Dental Depot. It’s not as good as this deal, but I think they run under $15 each regularly. They were so inexpensive that I bought three-one to keep in my overnight bag, and two for regular use ( I thought at that price they might wear out pretty quickly, but I’ve used my first one for about 3 years now).

I’m having trouble finding the $2/1 video values coupon referenced in the L’oreal Scenario. Would anyone please point it out to this tired mama? Thanks.

Reply

Melody March 20, 2011 at 8:00 pm

It’s the Beauty Bonus coupon. You have to watch 11 or 12 videos (you’ll earn “credit”) and then you’ll earn the $2 coupon. Hope that helps!

Dorine March 20, 2011 at 8:42 pm

If you have the old Reach Toothbrush coupon-BOGO (think it was from a Oct RP)-only for Total Whitening, this type is included in the sale this time. Worked great for me today.

Reply

Bre March 20, 2011 at 6:11 pm

Oh Marguerite….I was just wondering the same thing…the one on 57th & Prescott is HORRIBLE about stocking…but at least they give rebates (but they usually take about 5 weeks to get it back in stock).

Reply

Cindy March 24, 2011 at 1:10 pm

I had a long discussion with the store manager a couple of weeks ago. Seems that they use an inventory system very similar to one I used in a former job. It gives sales trends over the last year, but when it shows that you ordered two and ran out, it has no idea that 60 other people wanted it. Instead, the next time they might order 3. He does not coupon, and seems overwhelmed by the whole thing. I suggested if it’s an item that will be free or close to free with rewards, then he should just depend on couponers coming in (and that is a GOOD thing), and stock up. We’ll see if he paid any attention…

Marguerite March 20, 2011 at 5:03 pm

I am about to start doing the RA deals each week, and was wondering if anybody shops at the RA in the Hollywood District in NE ptld? How well is it stocked?

Reply

Bre March 20, 2011 at 8:15 pm

So Marguerite, I just went to that Rite Aid. As for being well stocked, they really were. But their customer service…HORRIBLE! There was an issue with the “Dr.’s Nightguard coupon” and oddly enough the couple in the line next to me had the same issue. The store manager was totally rude, and I realized that I didn’t get the +up reward on them, but I’m just going to call customer service rather than go back and try to deal with her again!

Reply

karla March 20, 2011 at 11:48 pm

I go to NE portland in Lombard, their stock is low, but they usually put limits, the nightguard, reach and few other were 1 per customer (or household, can’t remember) . Their customer service is pretty good at least Sunday morning it is.

Christina March 20, 2011 at 2:32 pm

FYI – at my Rite Aid the Veet was 6.49 and the L’Oreal 306 was 7.19. Both still great deals, but just in case you’re still planning!!

Reply

Melody March 20, 2011 at 2:50 pm

Thanks for sharing! My store had a few that were $5.99 (Veet). Remember, both of those should ring up with your Wellness+ discount if you have it, so you can take that into account.

I have to say it is very fustrating when you go to Rite Aid 2 hours after they open and everything I want to purchase is gone. I know they will give rainchecks but still very frustrating when the few people that get there before you clear the self. I’m all for a limits!!!

Reply

wendy March 20, 2011 at 2:02 pm

Me too!!! I went to my Rite Aid 2 minutes before it opened. When I walked in there were already so many people in there. One couple had 3 shopping carts full of stuff. I kid you not! 3 SHOPPING CARTS FULL!!! Really??? My Rite Aid rocks and orders tons of stuff (the girl who does the ordering is a couponer) but, I don’t think that she expected one couple to buy over 60 bottles of Spray and Wash!!!

Reply

Melody March 20, 2011 at 2:07 pm

Okay, seriously? It’s usually tough to find stuff at RA b/c they do have limited stock, but if they had 60 bottles, they were seriously prepared. Should have been plenty to go around, that’s really unfortunate that someone felt they needed 60 bottles.. Maybe they have REALLY dirty clothes? :)

Reply

Leanna March 20, 2011 at 2:13 pm

Can I go whack those people with my coupon binder?

Reply

Melody March 20, 2011 at 2:52 pm

I actually snorted, I laughed so hard when I read your comment. :)

I was thinking about it a little more.. Maybe they don’t have a washer and dryer and they use Resolve to wash ALL their clothes? Maybe they have 27 children and they all play soccer and get some serious grass stains? Maybe they are very unique artists and their medium is spot remover?

Reply

RoseAnn March 20, 2011 at 3:07 pm

I’m lucky..I’m on the east coast and at my RiteAid I think I am the only one who uses coupons. I never have a problem finding items on sale.

Leanna March 20, 2011 at 8:37 pm

Thank you :)

I like your kind version of why they needed over 60 bottles of Spray and Wash.

I especially like the artist thought.

Helen March 20, 2011 at 5:27 pm

I bet you must went to the Hillsboro Rite Aid. This was the first time I shopped there on Sunday morning and oh my goodness,I saw like 10 people in lines each has at least 1, or more carts full. I was wondering, do they resell them somehow, or else how can one family use 100 bottles of shampoo, or 4 cases of disinfecting wipes?

Reply

Beth March 23, 2011 at 8:58 am

Yes, there are several people that resell them. I shock the first time I saw of the resellers in Hillsboro and North Plains.

Reply

Krista March 20, 2011 at 7:53 pm

Another Krista here. According to the ad, there is a limit of 3 per household. How are they getting away with purchasing 60? Why didn’t the employees stop them? And, yes, I think people resell them, because I’ve noticed stickers on Rite Aid products that state the product is to be sold at Rite Aid only and if you purchase it some place other than Rite Aid to call the number on the sticker. It has a sensor in it as well for shop lifting. Sad for those of us who just want a few bottles so we can do laundry at home.

Reply

Melody March 20, 2011 at 8:18 pm

It actually said “limit three rebates” as there was a Single Check Rebate offer available on the Lysol that was pictured with it. Looks like the +UP Rewards were printing unlimited.

I really hope they do start putting reasonable limits on items, just so everyone that wants to can take advantage of the deals!

Reply

Helen March 21, 2011 at 10:23 am

Hey that is good to know that Rite Aid has a number for people to call if someone resell it. It is one thing to buy enough for yourself, your family, your mom and mother-in-law, and even your girlfriends, but if one buys to resell, that is out of line.

Reply

Christina March 20, 2011 at 8:21 pm

What Rite Aid do you go to? I’ve had the same issues at mine. Super frustrating! I don’t know why they don’t put limits on them.
