i cant find the chapstick lip balm coupon where is it?

Reply

Brenda October 26, 2012 at 11:11 pm

There’s one in the 10-7 RP, but it is considered a regional coupon and was not in the Oregonian.

Reply

DeAnn October 25, 2012 at 6:56 am

I did the Nivea deal with 6 lip balms, but was surprised when they rang up even less because of my 20% discount, so I didn’t quite make the $15 total, so I will have to go back today and buy 2 more so I can get that $5 up. Not as cheap if you have the 20% :(

Reply

Brenda October 25, 2012 at 4:08 pm

It stinks when your 20% discount works against you!

Reply

Jennifer October 24, 2012 at 7:35 pm

The Rite Aid Omeprazole printed an e code for an ecoupon up to $12 movie cash!!

Reply

Brenda October 24, 2012 at 8:34 pm

That’s a nice suprise!

Reply

DeAnn October 25, 2012 at 7:52 pm

I know, I bought 3 packages, and with my 20% discount and in-ad coupon it came to $12 each, so with the free movie tickets, it was free!

Could someone please tell me where on the Target site I may find the $3 Nexxus coupon? I’ve looked under Beauty and Personal Care without success….

Thanks in advance!

Reply

Brenda October 24, 2012 at 8:34 pm

Annye,
I couldn’t find it either, my guess is that it ran out of prints and they removed it. Sorry.

There is a $5/2 ANY L’Oreal hair color form RP9/16 with an exp. date of 10/28. That would make the deal that Howard explains above even better right?
4@$7.49 (for gold)
Use: 2x$5/2 Qs
Use: 2x$5/2 In Ad Qs (might need to split into two transactions)
$29.96-$20Q=$9.96
Earn $10UP=4 FOR FREE plus .04 MM

Please tell me if this is wrong!

Reply

Brenda October 23, 2012 at 4:53 pm

M,
Yes, those are the coupons I used to do Howard’s transaction. However, my products rang up for $7.19 after my gold discount, so assuming they all cost the same, you should score a bigger moneymaker!

Reply

Howard October 24, 2012 at 12:36 pm

You are correct, except it takes off 20% from the $8.99 shelf price, so $7.19 for gold members. I used up my $5/2 cpns last time they had this, so all I had were the $2/1 cpns this time. 76 cents for 4; $1.24 moneymaker if you use the ones you mentioned. Plus pesky sales tax if you’re not in Oregon.

Reply

JHollyhock (aka Jennifer H.) October 24, 2012 at 3:59 pm

Our shelf price is $9.49. I understand we have the highest cost of living in the state of Oregon. :-) Yippee!

Reply

M October 24, 2012 at 4:20 pm

Yup! Our shelf price is 9.49 too! Still a wonderful deal. My MIL is very happy who uses the product. And yes, that pesky sales tax gets me every time. :)

Reply

Brenda October 24, 2012 at 8:38 pm

So you did plan your deal perfectly! I keep a close eye on the sales tax too, sometimes the deals are not worth it once you tack on a couple more dollars!

Emily M October 22, 2012 at 10:31 pm

Okay, glad I’m not alone. Thought I was totally blind.

Emily M October 22, 2012 at 4:16 pm

Does anybody know if the $1/1 Ricola coupon from the 9/30 SS was regional? I’m in the PDX metro area and am not seeing it. Thanks!

Reply

charolyn October 22, 2012 at 6:31 pm

I didn’t see it either & also wondered if it was just me-I always like to get the confirmation:-)

Reply

charolyn October 22, 2012 at 6:31 pm

I’m in the same area.

Reply

charolyn October 22, 2012 at 6:36 pm

OK I was thinking Luden’s (which I looked twice for & didn’t see).
But I looked for the Ricola just now & don’t see it either.

Reply

Brenda October 22, 2012 at 8:35 pm

That’s why I get 1 copy of the Oregonian and 1 copy of the Columbian. Usually the Oregonian has the better coupons, but every once in a while the Columbian wins. It had both the Luden’s and Ricola coupons!

charolyn October 22, 2012 at 1:23 pm

On the Nivea deal-most of the lotions are 2/$10, so I got 2 lip products-2 lotions (also have the 2/$3 coupon) = $4 for 4 products, including the expensive lotions-so was happy with that :-)

The Playtex is also part of a monthly +up-$5 when you spend $20!

Reply

JHollyhock (aka Jennifer H.) October 22, 2012 at 4:47 pm

I was super stoked and wanted to buy the Nivea creme in the tub but it’s not included on the lotion coupon. That was a bummer!

Reply

charolyn October 22, 2012 at 6:32 pm

Yes I looked at that too & would have gotten it, but it was too small.

Reply

Paula October 21, 2012 at 9:14 pm

I have a question for veteran Rite Aid couponers. In the circulars, there will be many product groupings circled by a yellow box with text above the box that says something like ” Get $5 +UP back when you buy $10 of these products.”

For example, on page 12 of this week’s circular, there’s a “yellow box” with Huggies and Johnson’s Baby Care products inside. Above the box is “Get $5 +UP back when you buy $25 of these products.”

Here’s my question. Would I need to buy $25 of Huggies **OR** $25 of Johnson’s to get the $5 +UP? That’s the way I’ve always interpreted those “big yellow box” +UP offers.

But (fingers crossed), does anyone know if I could buy $10 Huggies + $15 Johnson’s and get the $5 +UP?

Reply

Brenda October 21, 2012 at 9:49 pm

Paula,
You can mix and match the deals in the yellow boxes!
One thing to keep in mind if you purchase the Johnson’s baby products that are BOG50% off, you can mix the products that you buy, but the 50% will come off the cheaper product so keep that in mind when you plan your scenario. You won’t have to worry about the Huggies products since they are all $9.99.
Good Luck!

Howard October 21, 2012 at 11:00 am

Schick Hydro shaving cream: $3.99, less $2 in-ad cpn, less 75-cent cpn in today’s paper. $1.24, not bad for a quality product.
Also: Campbell’s soups are $3/2, $1.99 for single can. Spend $10, get $4 UP. Buy 4 Naturals (not pictured in ad, but they worked), 3 Chunky Healthy Request, use two $.75/2 Naturals cpns, one $1/3 Healthy Request cpn (both available at campbellskitchen.com; login through FB for best access). Pay $8.49 after cpns, get $4 UP, $4.49 net for 7.

Reply

charolyn October 21, 2012 at 5:51 pm

I am thinking of getting 6 select soup & a sparkling ice ($1-so puts me right at $10)=6 soups+sparkling ice for $3 with 3 $1/2 select coupons.

Reply

Howard October 23, 2012 at 6:18 pm

Did the deal again today (there’s a limit of 2 on the $4 UP). Got 6 soups for $9, one smallish can of Fritos for $1.19 after wellness discount, used two $1/3 cpns, so paid $8.19 and got $4 UP back.

Reply

Howard October 21, 2012 at 7:49 am

HEADS UP on this week’s Excellence hair color deal:
If you have a wellness discount, the product will ring up at $7.19 (20%) or $8.09 (10%) instead of the 2 for $16.98 price listed on the in-ad cpn. That will keep you under the $25 total if you buy only 3. This happened to me a couple of months ago. Also, there is a limit of one per customer on the in-ad $5/2 cpns, although certain stores will allow multiples. I intend to buy 4 @ $7.19, use two $5/2 in-ad cpns, four $2 mfr cpns, pay $10.76 and get a $10 +UP. I’m fairly sure the $5/2 and $2 cpns do not count toward the $25 total. You can spread these purchases out over several visits. The $10 UP deal is often valid for more than one week.

Reply

Brenda October 21, 2012 at 2:15 pm

That’s an awesome deal for hair color, Howard!
Now if I can talk my mom into using it, instead of the John Frieda I’m suppose to be getting her this week!

Reply

Howard October 22, 2012 at 1:56 pm

Tell Mom John and Frieda ran away to South America together and took all the hair color with them.
I used up the $5/2 cpns the last time they had this deal. I will have to wait till later this week to do it, because my store had only one box of my daughter’s color Sunday. If necessary, I’ll buy some of the “wrong” color and exchange them after the sale.

Reply

Brenda October 21, 2012 at 4:45 pm

It worked!
I actually got a slightly better deal after finding a $5/2 any Loreal Hair Color Coupon (9-16 RP) to use with the $5/2 in-ad coupon.
After tax and the UpR, I paid just over $1.00 for 4 boxes!
Thanks again, Howard!

Got mine today at King City, 76 cents net for four boxes. Also got a $25 RA gift card in the mail last week–seems I won it in one of their sweepstakes, probably from the SCR monthly guide. At this rate, it will take a LONG time for me to use up $25!

Congradulations-very lucky :-) What kind of sweepstakes are there?

This was a Kraft Foods/Oreo’s 100th Birthday/RA sweeps. It may have been a mail-in cpn from the SCR booklet, or perhaps an online entry. I do enter a lot of contests (mail, online, radio call-ins) and have won 100s of prizes over the years, including a few nice ones, such as a trip to NJ to see Tom Petty, three big-screen TVs, $600 in Macaroni Grill gift cards, 50000 United miles, and many more. Just recently I won 4 tix to see something called the Fresh Beat Band in Portland Nov 8 along with a VIP after-party. (Please don’t ask for the tickets; they’re already given out.)

Yippee!
Does it really matter how you won the $25???
I’ll take it any way they want to send it to me gift cards, dineros, pounds….

There is also a $4/2 Tucks coupon on their website. It isn’t as a great a deal for this scenerio but good to have in the future:

Last week I had trouble with the in-ad coupon at Rite Aid. The clerk got the manager, who told me the in ad cpns are manufacture cpns, and as I was stacking, I had to choose which coupon I preferred, but could not use both. Anyone else getting this at Rite Aid?

Brenda October 21, 2012 at 12:47 am

Tana,
They were wrong. It can be confusing since the in-ad coupons do say Manufacturer coupon at the top of them, but if you look at the barcode they start with RC followed by a series of numbers. Manufacturer coupons only have numbers on their barcodes. I would suggest that you print out the Rite Aid coupon policy and take it with you. It is very clear that you are allowed to use 1 Rite Aid coupon with 1 manufacturer coupon on 1 product.
Sorry that you had issues with this last week.

Not only can you stack a mfr cpn with the in-ad mfr/store cpn, it often states RIGHT ON THE IN-AD CPN “See Sunday paper for additional savings.” For example, the Excellence hair color on the front page of today’s ad shows that language. I used to balk at combining the two, but a RA cashier and a couponing acquaintance convinced me it was legal.

Be sure to take the Rite Aid coupon policy with you to the register each time. It clearly states that you can stack coupons.

I do not have the Mentos, Revlon or Physician’s Formula coupons. I didn’t know those were regional..

Reply

Brenda October 20, 2012 at 9:56 pm

We use to get the Mentos coupons, but haven’t seen them in awhile. The Oregonian never seems to get Revlon or Physician’s Formula coupons. Not sure where you are, but The Columbian usually gets Physician’s Formula oupons.
These days it seems that there are a lot more regional coupons and deals.

If the Rimmel deal is tracking, you should be able to buy 4 and use (4) $1/1 coupons and then go back and buy 2 more and use (2) $1/1 coupons on the second transaction, which would make each less than a dollar.

Can someone please answer my rookie question or direct me in the right direction. I can’t seem to find it anywhere and I am new to shopping at Rite Aid:

How do the +Up rewards work? I have accumulated two $10 rewards but it’s much different than I’m used to over at Walgreens. These printed on my receipt but with no barcode so they must have loaded to my card?? If so, how do I use them? Do they come off my next transaction automatically if I use my Welness card? Does the clerk ask me if I want to use them (like Safeway gas rewards)? Thanks much for your help!! I really appreciate it.

It sounds like your UpR’s are loaded to your card. Rite Aid recently changed their program to load the UpR’s automatically to your card, but you can opt out and have them print on your receipt.
I don’t have any experience with the UpR’s loaded to card because I opted out when they changed the program. My understanding is that you need to have the cashier ring up your items and scan your coupons BEFORE they scan your wellness card. If you scan your wellness card at the beginning you run the risk of the UpR’s automatically coming off before you use your coupons. Also, your total will need be over $10 (or $20 if you want to use both) after your coupons for your UpR’s to come off correctly.
Anyone else still have their UpR’s loaded to their card that can confirm this?
Personally, I would highly recommend that you have them switch it so your UpR’s will print on your reciept. I find it much easier to keep track of them. The cashier should be able to do it at the store or you can do it online.
Feel free to ask any other questions you might have!

I just wanted to let you know that for some reason the SavingStar rebate with the Dove products did not work for me last week. I bought the deal as you suggested and it only accredited 9.50 to my rebate. So I am still missing $11 for my $5 rebate. Any ideas?

That’s no good :( . It worked for me perfectly. I bought all body was (a mixture of the men+care and women’s). Maybe only certain items are counting?

I just looked at savingstar.com–I logged in and everything–and saw no Dove deal listed. Maybe it expired?

Reply

Brenda October 20, 2012 at 5:19 pm

Howard,
Dove products are included in the Unilever deal, doesn’t expire until 11/22.

Reply

Howard October 20, 2012 at 12:46 pm

I logged in to savingstar.com just now but saw no Dove deals. I wonder if this expired recently. Sorry I couldn’t help. You can always return the products if you haven’t opened them.

It’s not expired, but I’m wondering if it’s not available to load anymore for those that haven’t already? It is listed along the top with all the “bulk” offers.

It says the deal is sold out when I go there, but I can still see it.

I just went back onto my Saving Star account. Lo and behold, the Unilever deal was shown as “Activated”. Not only that, it said I’d spent $12.85 toward the $20 and have till 11-22 to finish it. I have no recollection of signing up, but I must have. Then I logged out and looked at their home page again, and it says Sold Out.

Reply

Brenda October 26, 2012 at 11:23 pm

How weird! Do you remember spending the $12.85? Maybe it was a computer glitch of some sort.
By the way, I always activate all of the Savingstar coupons. I’ve been pleasantly suprised a few times when I get a credit to my account that I totally forgot about. I do wonder about the “sold out” feature. Does it mean that even if I activate a coupon that it can sell out before I use it, or is just not available for anyone else to activate it?

Howard October 27, 2012 at 9:57 am

No, I don’t remember spending the $12.85, but I must have. Considering how many Unilever products there are, and the fact I registered Albertsons, RiteAid and FM cards with them a few months ago, it doesn’t totally surprise me. It says I activated it 9-28. My guess is Breyer’s, Ben & Jerry’s, SlimFast, maybe Ragu and Wishbone. Family members use my FM card # when they go there, so that might be the source. Now I have to remember to spend another $7.15 by 11-22 to get the $5. To answer your other question, Brenda, I think that once you activate you’re good to go, even if the deal later shows Sold Out.

Brenda October 20, 2012 at 5:17 pm

I would email them, Brenelly. I had an issue with other coupons not coming off correctly and they fixed it within a few days.
Also, did you buy the items in one transaction or multiple? I was a bit concerned with I did the unilever deal because it only credited my account for one transaction, even though I bought them all on the same day. It took another week for the 2nd transaction to show up.

Reply

Brenelly October 22, 2012 at 6:22 am

Thank you, I did buy everything in the same transaction. I will email them. :)

Howard October 22, 2012 at 2:44 pm

I just checked again. The Unilever deal is there at the top of the page, marked Sold Out. But if you registered, it should have accepted all of your purchases. It says right on the page, From Hellmans to Dove, on ANY of our products.

charolyn October 22, 2012 at 8:46 pm

Thanks the discussion reminded me to check mine & it was there.
I thought I could get it more than once though. Now it does clearly say “one time use only”.
Does anyone remember anything differently? I may have been thinking that since I registered my rite aid card & my husband’s-I could get it two times (incorrectly it seems).

Brenda October 22, 2012 at 10:56 pm

Charolyn,
I don’t remember ever seeing that you could do any of their offers more than once. My guess is you would need to register each card to seperate SavingStar accounts.
